hey ladies and gentleman - best regards from germany
im wasted. and it would be nice if you can help me. because of a ****ty microphone quality, i´ve installed this in version 3.15:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...m-existenz-ultimate-1-0-5-light-dark-t2835196
But the quality wasnt better, though. imo it was the existenz rom so i tried a different one.
yesterday i have installed a cm11 version in which some functions of my z2 wont work. :crying:
so i have seen that there is a 4.0 version of existenz, downloaded it, put it on my sd and started in recovery.
but my twrp was gone and cwm was installed
what the..? okay, tried to flash it anyway but it was stucked before AROMA was started.
copied the .zip from sdcard to internal to provide that there was an issue with rights or something.
but no chance.meanwhile my cm11 is working, but even PLAY-Store Apps like goomanager or RASHR and TWRP itself wont install
twrp. im using a windows 8 pc and have some trouble to use adb or odin.
when i try to boot into dl or rec mode, the led stucks either orange or blue.
do you have a clue what i can do? pleaaaase :crying:
Ok first.
Disable driver signature autetification on win8/8.1
Install Sony flash drivers
Install flashtool
Reflash with stock rom
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Free mobile app
You obviously have unlocked bootloader so...
If you still have recovery, just install another kernel with twrp, like Doomlords Kernel. This is a stock kernel with cmw, philz and twrp. Once this kernel is installed cm won't boot anyone, but it will allow you to install a eXistenZ.
If you don't have recovery download Doomlords kernel and flash the boot.img ( i think it's)
Code:
adb fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reverting back to stock 4.4.2 to fix your issue is a waste of time.
Okay, at first thanks electrash for showing me how to use flashtool on windows 8.
Has worked so far, im running on stock rom but cant reach the bootloader or recovery.
the LED is not blinking and i have no chance to reach the recovery mode.
is it possible to flash this with flashtool, too?

When you say download mode do you mean fastboot mode? Plugging in the Usb and holding volume up when the phone is off? If so yes.
The light should remain blue and, assuming you have the fastboot drivers installed, you can flash things.
hey guys! my phone is workiiiiing
you´re the best ,seriously!

Hi, I'm kind of a noob, so sorry if this is a dumb question.
I just installed the new Lollipop Fimware on my Z2, using Flashtool. Now I want to root the device, but reading through articles on XDA or XperiaBlog, they all said you need to use older firmware. So my question is, can you root the Z2 with Lollipop?
I'd be grateful for helpful answers.

Things needed:
PC, fastboot driver, know how to boot to bootloader(fastboot mode) and recovery mode
Now you can without having old kernel (not firmware)
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/kernel-andropluskernel-v10-t2974841 extract boot.img from the zip file.
Boot your phone to fastboot mode and in command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Go to recovery mode after restarting and then get UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and flash it via newly installed TWRP recovery.

Same here. I'm a noob wanting to learn how to root. But this went over my head :/
Would using PRF creator work? If you bundled the lollipop firmware with supersu.zip and flashed it would it give you lolipop with root? Because this is what i did to update to 4.4.4 with root. For anyone that doesnt know PRF creator is a program which combines 3 files which is are firmware of your choice, a superSU.zip and a recovery.zip. It combines them into a .zip that you can flash in recovery and have the firmware with superSU and a custom recovery on it.
I have a locked bootloader and mines rooted, do you want me to say how?
If its on lollipop, i would very much like to know how.
Isn't this the exact same answer as rooting 4.4.4?
Downgrade to 4.4.2
Root
Install recovery
Install rooted lollipop zip in recovery
If you don't understand this or the method posted above don't root. Also, if.you can't google things like fastboot to understand what it is don't root.

Bootloop
Everything was fine, till i tried superSU. Twrp flashed it fine, but then when i tried to reboot, the device got stuck in a bootloop.
wipe cache/delvik also didnt help.
I have a new z2, then unlocked the bootloader, and then got the Norway rom using xperifirm.
Norway rom installed fine. twrp installed fine. But i am facing a bootloop now that i have flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Anybody else face this issue?

try wiping just "Dalvik Cache" and restart again. I have also face similar strange issue when I was using FlashTool a couple of times.
If that doesn't work try normal wiping from TWRP and install firmware using FlashTool.

I'm no Android/Lollipop/Rooting expert but using an unlocked boot loader I was able to root Lollipop (23.1.A.0.690 ) easily using the kernel from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ot-stock-flashable-kernel-23-1-0-690-t3061816
My steps were:
1. Install Lollipop
2. fastboot flash boot boot.img (to install above mentioned kernel with TWRP recovery)
So far so good.
PS: To use fastboot you'll likely need the drivers from flashtool (http://www.flashtool.net/index.php) and if on Win 8.1 you'll need to search for instructions on how to install unsigned drivers.

Is there root only for Baltic ROM? I am on Nordic and I want root is that possible?
Hey guys,
I'm facing a huge problem at the moment.
I played around with flashing new roms over my OOS 3.14 rom.
First i installed the Dirty Unicorns N Rom from 11/18, then I updated my TWRP to the latest Version with flashify..which was a huge mistake.
After I installed the revovery i realized that the camera doesnt work with the DU rom and - of course- tried to reboot to recovery to clean flash it again.
That's the point where the problem occurs, Recovery won't boot anymore, just the OnePlus Logo and "powered by android"
Normally I'd use fastboot to simply flash a new recovery but the thing is that my usb port is somehow broken and does not
Get recognised by any pc or any usb cable.
Can I "recover" my recovery without fastboot on the PC? Maybe with the Terminal-App from the Playstore?
Please help my stupid a**
Thanks in advance!
No recovery but ROM is booting?
Is your device rooted?
If yes did you tried flashify?
That's really your only option without a PC. Maybe try flash blu spark v41 twrp with the app Rashr. But I think you really need a computer.

Rom is booting but buggy!
device is rooted!
Flashify won't work because it cant flash a new recovery if theres no old recovery to replace
I'll try Rashr and Flashify again, when my connection gets better.

Hey, just tried flashing bluspark v41 twrp with rashr and it worked instantly!
Thank you sooo much!!
You should know that the recovery is written to a partition in your storage. So, if you have a terminal with root acces you can simply run something like
Code:
cat /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery > recovery_backup.img
to backup your recovery
and
Code:
cat twrp.img > /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery
to write a file to your recovery.
[Without any additional app in situations where you don't have one.]
Hello,
I started on a quest last week to try and make my long forgotten Xperia tablet z LTE SGP321 more user friendly.
I stopped using it after being frustrated by the bloatware and its lack of customisation.
So I thought flashing a custom rom might help and wanted a bit of a technological challenge. Boy do I feel like I've got one.
I used kingroot, which worked fine. I tried to install SuperSu but it wont update the binaries.
I've managed to unlock the bootloader (forgot to do the backup TA woops!).
I downloaded TWRP app, flashed pollux_windy to recovery. Now there doesn't seem to be a combination of keys that I can find to boot the sony xperia tablet Z into recovery?? Power and volume up or down or jamming both keys...nothing seems to work. I've found one forum post suggesting it isnt possible and that I need to flash a kernel which is where I'm getting stuck.
SO this is where I am now and was wondering if I should use CWM instead or if there is another way to open recovery?
My main aim is to completely clear the tablet hard drive and start again with a custom rom.
Thanks!
>>>>>>
NEW info
So i've managed to use the ADB to reboot into the boatloader. All that happens is a black screen. I want to try and flash CWM or TWRM but it doesnt seem to work.
Im beginning to think there's something strange about the sony xperia tablet z in that it doesnt have a bootloader in its stock firmware. i've seen something about using a Kernel approach but the guides are unclear.
Any help on flashing a CWM or TWRM into recovery would be much appreciated!!

Thanks for your help. I thought I'd start simple and just try and flash TWRP to recovery.
i downloaded the latest TWRP pollux windy img and then used the command fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
It says FAILED (remote: command not allowed)
adb fastboot devices displays my tablet
(by the way in configuration in service info it says bootloader unlocked: Yes)
>>>>>>UPDATE
so i managed to flash a cyanogenmod img using "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
The device then soft bricked and went into a boot loop. Is this because I used the wrong version of cyanogenmod?? Any other I can try that work?
I panicked a bit, mamanged to get the tablet into fastboot somehow andthen flashed a TWRM img to the boot using the same command above which now loads TWRM.
fastboot reboot now caused the device to go into TWRP but its in recovery mood
How can i undo that step i did when I flashed the boot img of the cyanogen mod. I want to put the old boot.img back!

Thanks!
Sorry about all the updates.
I decided to see what you had installed on your signature and tried resurrection remix. Version 5.8 caused Error 7??
So i went for version 6.9 which i installed successfully.
Only way i know how to get into recovery is to use adb terminal command "adb reboot recovery"
Also before I installed resurrection remix would you recommend a complete wipe of everything or does it not really matter?
Thanks and hopefully that's me all sorted!
Use VOL+ or VOL- on boot to enter recovery.

2 way for me:
- usually you can set an "advanced reboot menu" under developer option or the ROM customization panel (depends on which ROM do you use)
- turn off your tablet, now push the power button until your screen just turn on, leave the power button and start pressing vol+ and vol- alternately until you boot into recovery
Hi there,
I realised that after the latest Resurrection ROM update that Magisk Manager was not installed anymore. I went to install and I need to get into TWRP to flash it. However, the Fastboot app I downloaded now says that the app doesn't have root permission. I am then stuck in a loop where I need to access TWRP but I cannot anymore.
What am I missing? I believe it may have to do with the fact that Magisk is not running - but I cannot install it unless I get into TWRP - if not mistaken?
My understanding is that you cannot go into recovery mode by holding on + on this tablet - am I correct?
Thanks!

Hi there,
My Z was on Resurrection already and I could get onto TWRP by using one of the many fastboot app and select "reboot to recovery". After the last update, I lost that ability, those apps say the device is not rooted.
Sorry for not being too familiar with the procedure: what do I need to install now? I am kind of confused, the device is/was rooted already and TWRP was already installed. Are you suggesting that when I flashed the updated ROM I lost TWRP?
Thx
Edit: I've got in! Trick is: power on, wait for the purple light and click VOL+ ONCE. I'm in TWRP now. THank you.
Hello,
A long time ago my brother has done something more stupid – had made root in Sony Xperia Z2 with TWRP, using the latest version of Sirius. As he has bought his new mobile phone, he has given me his old mobile phone, but he was not interested in formatting, de-rooting or fixing the bug of AudioFX, then I decided to work on my own. I made a lot of researches about how to fix the bug of AudioFX, so no luck.
As I wanted to de-root, I had to use my friend and sister's computers with Windows, using Kingo Root, because I am a Linux user, but no luck.
Then I downloaded the original and de-rooted image from TWRP, booted into TWRP mode, and flashed that image into Recovery. After, I could not boot any more. I tried to press power and Volume - and Volume +, but I could not boot either. I plugged the mobile phone into my laptop with Linux, but it was not recognised.
I read the following topics of XDA Developers, trying to train myself, but no luck:
1. Problem with TWRP 3.0.2 and encryption to solve boot loop
2.. [Q] Flashtool tool failed after amss_fsg.sin, can't flash phone
3. Downgrade to KitKat?
4. Unknown firmware, no boot, I can't flash
5. I can not flash!
6. Boot loop after flashing any ROM

An original ROM without root. I know a de-rooted and rooted Android 7 and 8 cause AudioFX bugs.

If so did you try flashing a stock rom via a zip ?

Did you install the fastboot unsigned drivers as + ADB ?
Whole process should be something like this
Disable windows driver signature enforcement.
[URL="https://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...igned-drivers/"][/URL]
Restart your pc or laptop.
Install ADB.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0MKgCbUM0itSUhpUklCTFpzWkE&authuser=0
Install flashtool-0.9.18.6 with all the drivers.
(For some reason this is the most compatible one for Xperia Z2)
Then try flash twrp recovery using the flashtool. ✌
