Oh.. so it is going to get Android 5.0? That's awsome!
But but it is sad that no one "cares" about making some custom roms.. even the note 4 has gotten alot roms

Exynos chipset = very hard to make custom roms.
Marginal and overpriced device = not many developers to make roms.
If this phone would have Qualcomm chipset on the international model/version and -200€ lower price, there would be a lot more going on here.
You can't really compare this device's development to note4 which is more popular etc.

Why install a beta test rom is my answer especially if you lack knowledge .
Wait for Samsung to actually finish the job is my view.

JJEgan, thanks thats exactly I want to know. Since I have a daily usage of my phone and its not a spare so I can't afford to experiment and get stuck in tech glitches.
I am just returning to a SGS2 after a few months over the other side with an IPhone 4s....arrrghh don't ask.
But any way When is the official ICS coming out for the SGS2?
Never. 10 c

[Q] Official Support of CM for Galaxy Mega?

I think the 6.3 one is really a great device.
Both i9200 and i9250 are running on S400 cpu and it should be porting easier than S4 with exynos and S600.
So would it have chance for getting the official support from CM? Since the device is not very popular in US.

Because there is nothing like that yet.
It will come, but for sure this isn't a high attention device like S4 or something else.
So...patience!

Still trying to understand this. All these phones are getting ports but there are people saying we need a whole new kernel. Yet the bigger devs are supposedly already working on a port?
Jackpotclalvin got lollipop to boot on the Verizon g2! No ROM yet, but eventually its gonna happen. Be sure to thank him for his hard work too!

Yeah I don't know either, wish a Dev could explain this to me... The Optimum G has a mostly functioning Lollipop ROM according to a post I saw on G+ yesterday... Why would it be harder to build for us? Especially since so much of our hardware is similar to the Nexus 5...

You do not need a 5.0 kernel for the G2, older devices have newer versions of android w/o having the corresponding source. I'm using 4.4.4 on my Galaxy S1 just like my G2 (except the S1 obviously didn't receive 4.4.x).

I think that a kernel is important for performance OK, but can boot too without a perfect kernel. Wait ThE big dev

That's good to see, FINALLY! May I ask, what should we expect from update 5.0.2 compared to 5.0.1?
Between this and the GPE 5.1 I'm in great dilemma.

It's kinda hard to develop on stock roms because they are already so optimised and adding something will break another so I guess developers wanted to develop on a more open platform like CM or AOSP versus stock.
Understandable but cm and aosp to me are all the same... Same bugs same services the only good thing os for theming but even there they are similar... I kinda like the sony stock rom.. Wouldnt mind a debloated 5.0.2 with custom kernel support!! I guess a fella can still have hopes!!

Fully agreed, that I wish for!
Oh man still no updates?? i am very dependent on when this Lollipop ROM update will be sent. I just can't test my apps on Lollipop because of this!
I wish they did not release 5.0.1/2 and went for 5.1 instead. I've heard really lots of complaints about 5.0 and i am kinda worried.
I'm afraid we'll get a really late, half-assed rom update that introduces new issues without fixing the older ones, which they had plenty of time to fix... and after that it's gonna be "well, you got your 5.0 update, that's enough updates for a two year old phone... all the way from jelly-bean! wow... we're so good, updating the phone all the way from jelly bean to lollipop. So, there won't be another update. get a new phone."

Where's the community fit this phone?

Pretty awesome phone for $200? Surprised it's so quiet around these parts. Anyone think this sub will grow/they'll be development for this phone?

Our device already got cm12.1 unofficially with major bugfixes .
Everything is working great and stable .I mentioned this coz we got cm build in just one and half month of release .
You can know from this how faster the development is going .
You should thank crpalmer,hondajohn88,banditdevelopment and all other devs who are working day and night for our device .

That's awesome. They're awesome.
I agree. ROMs will be coming. This device is still being tested so some folks are not free to go full tilt.
I truly hope that is the case, however one simply needs to look at other huawei xda forums on here to find plenty of evidence to the contrary. Maybe this one will be different though. It's off to a good start, but only time will tell.

Most of the huawei devices have the kirin processor in them, thus making development difficult.... Phones with sd processors were not bought that much because huawei didn't release their phones in USA..... But 5x not only has sd 616 but also is sold in usa.... So the we should see development for a long time.... Hopefully

No one is twisting your arm to use a phone with old software or old custom ROMs... either wait until Huawei drops the Marshmallow Kernel Sources and Drivers or kindly GTFO if all you want to do is complain.
