anyone else hate the otterbox? - Verizon LG G3

I usually never had a problem with them, its usually what I buy when I upgrade. But now after taking it off. I really dislike it. That soft shock absorber thing that the phone rests on apparently melts to the phone if it gets too hot. Which it does frequently. I had to peel my phone out of the case and on the back was all the stickey residue covering the back of the phone. A pain to clean. Any recommendations for a case that protects, looks better, and doesn't melt?

Spigen slim armour is a decent case. It's not too big in your pocket, doesn't stick, and has 2 piece construction for decent shock absorption.

Ah, I've seen it. Looks pretty nice. Might just say screw it and go with zerolemon lol

Great case, but too dang bulky, i love my spigen case

I have always wondered why I dont see more people using body glove cases, I have been using them for years, they are slim, look good, good quality, protect the phone well and the price is good, there are alot of other good cases out there but I found the body glove case is just as good and runs about $15, alot less then most other good cases....otter boxes suck, they are bulky as hell and never liked them, I had one a few years ago on a phone and got rid of it, my work gives me an I-phone to use and aside from the phone being a piece of s**t they make me keep an otter box on it, it makes the phone even more of a piece of s**t, LOL.....

Hahaha yeah I feel it. I took mine off my of DNA cause it just felt ****ty and I ended up shattering that phone but I have it on the g3 only because I don't wanna destroy this. I rarely drop my phones too but it only takes that one unlucky time. I shall buy dis new case

I had this case for a while and liked it...http://www.bestbuy.com/site/platinu...lack/7251018.p?id=1219260610755&skuId=7251018
I've now got the spigen slim armor and overall I like it....however the slicker back makes it not sit still when laid flat on a table or something, and the volume cutout sucks imho. But other than that a solid choice.

I picked up the Body Glove Rise case today at Walmart. I had a Body Glove on my last phone (RAZR HD) and it worked well. Dropped the phone (RAZR that is) once or twice and no damage or anything to the phone. One drop was face down and the bezel protection really did it's job. Overall, I like this case as it doesn't add much bulk at all so it still fits in my pocket comfortably. Haven't dropped the G3 yet and hopefully, never will, but this case gives me a sense of protection that I didn't have when the phone was naked. Doesn't mean I'll be less careful with it. On the contrary, I'll still continue to be cognizant of maintaining a firm grip on the phone at all times, but at least I have a better chance of the phone surviving a drop with the case than without it.
It looks nice too and now I feel like I have a better grip on the phone.

Which case did you get, the defender or the symmetry? I got the defender, and yeah, great protection, but makes the phone way too big. I was wondering if the symmetry was a little less cumbersome.
I've used otterbox commuter cases in the past and loved them, but this phone is so damn big already, I'm looking for recommendations myself.

I went from the defender to the Seidio Dilex case/holster combo. Great made case!

My son had his LG g3 in the OtterBox for some time, I took it out of the OtterBox to put a QI receiver on the back to surprise him for Christmas by having his phone on a QI charger when he woke up. The edges all the way around the phone or severely scuffed for the inside of that case. Not the front or the back, just the edges. He's not using that case anymore.

This is the one I'm using, similar to the OtterBox, but much nicer.

I have had many cases on the g3, from Incipo, spigen, off brand cheapos and now the Defender from Otterbox. It definitely adds bulk, but by far the most protection. I feel better now, peace of mind I suppose.
Loved the slim armor spigen, but it scratches like crazy!

The Spigen Slim Armor is nice, but mine has issues with popping out of the corners sometimes. Theres a case called the Hyperion thats nice too. Dual layer but just not as protective

Anybody have anything to report on the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro cases?

Well I just bought the blue Otterbox Defender for my new G3 and I like it so far. I just wish the rubber outer layer was the soft silicone rubber instead of the harder rubber but it'll do.

[Q] How protected is your vibrant?

I personally love the feel of my vibrant without the silicon casing on but unfortunately, I have to go with it whenever I leave the house to protect it from knicks and knacks (plus I always seem to drop my phone...)
I have a screen protector (REALOOK) and a TPU case. I too like the way the phone feels and looks without a case but yea, it needs to be protected. My old G1 got bang up pretty bad by not using protection... LOL...
I've had my vibrant in a case since day one but still have scratches all over the body. I think the shiny plastic material is just scratch prone. If I had to do over I would have tried some of the clear body armor type product. Definitely love the bare feel, may just go without a case and hope replacement parts become available.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I have the stealthguards screen protector and battery cover protector. Both are mainly on there just for weight and grip and the front is also on to make my vibrant have a flush front.
Silicone = ****
polyurethane Is The Way To Go, Alot More Protective And A Better Fit For Your Phone
I rock mine naked. I had a hard clear case for my G1, but it really didn't do a whole lot of good and my screen didn't get scratched at all. The Vibrant has gorilla glass and you get a 2nd back cover out of the box so I decided to go without.
I've got a realook screen protector and the tmobile gel case.
My battery cover AND the faux metal bezel are pretty scratched up. Been in the case since day one, so I suspect the gel case scratches it. Go figure.
I honestly didn't like the bare feel. Too slippery and small, so now I have a rubber case in it. Fits like a glove and grips better while still sliding out of the pocket without sticking. And of course a screen protector. I kept one on my g1 since day one. Its beaten to hell, the lip part is cracked and the sdcard unmounts if you apply pressure but the screen is flawless lol

I use a Casemate Tough Case and have been using this style of case on all my phones for years. Usually Otterbox, but they took too long this time around so I gave the Casemate a try. I never drop my phone, but I have two kids under 5, so the cases are definitely tested from time to time. There are no better cases if you want real protection, IMO.

I've got the hard Body Glove case with the black rubberized back. I haven't tried any other cases because I really like this one. The phone just felt too fragile to me without a case, this gives it a little bulk and makes it feel a little more substantial.
No screen protector. I haven't seen the need for one. I'm not super careful with it either and will carry it in a pocket with keys and loose change pretty often. Been doing this for 2 months and no scratches on my screen. The screen is definitely pretty tough.
this is a $500 phone, and it's slippery. I drop **** all the time so i got the silicon case. it looks lumpy, but it's worth it.

Couldn't have said it better. I use the BG case, and love it -- the look, the kickstand, the added bulk. (The "naked" (ugh) phone is too thin to hold comfortably on a call; and others have said, it's slippery as hell.
I utilized the stealthguard front and back. So its practically naked.. but not naked

I'm amazed by the durability of the screen. I don't make it a habit of putting it in my pocket with anything inside, but when I have and cringed as I pulled it out expecting scratches, to my surprise no scratches.
As a rule, the harder the cover material, the more the shock will be transferred directly to the phone. The same for the sticker types which are more for protection against scratches.
I ended up buying a cover from tmo because the phone felt a little slippery by itself. Its made of silicone and think enough to absord some of the impact if it is dropped and us les likely to slip out of your hand.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I bought the tmo black silicone case. I really like it because it adds grip and gives the phone a more solid, quality feel. One thing I've noticed is if you take the back cover plate off too much...it gets loose and creaky. They really should have gone with the slide lock type.

http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=217139826
Super inexpensive (bought 2, 1 extra to have on-hand)! Been using clear hard cases like these since my MyTouch3G and I've dropped it (the MT3G) several times onto concrete without a single scratch or damage to the phone. The case took the brunt of the impact. Put a very small crack in it, but nothing else. Ended up replacing it anyway, but that was enough to make me buy them for the Vibrant now. I just don't get that sense of protection from a semi-thin silicone sleeve. Sort of like gluing a bunch of balloons to the exterior of your car and thinking it's going to protect you in a head-on collision. Just not buying it...

[Review] Otterbox Defender

Ok, I finally got my Otterbox Defender today. First impression is that it isn't exactly the way I thought it would be. I am not sure exactly what I was expecting but I know it wasn't quite what I got.
Pro: plastic shell feels pretty solid around phone and I really like the way the solid clear protector covers the whole screen it makes me feel a lot less worried about messing up my phone. The silicon/rubber outer sleeve holds the two halves of the hard shell together and gives a good grip. There is no way for it to fall out of the holster.
Con: my biggest complaint would be the silicone/rubber outer sleeve feels a bit sloppy. I would have expected it to be tighter, more exactly form fitting. The outer sleeve also picks up every piece of lint that comes it's way and because it is a black case white pocket lint shows very well. It is very difficult/awkward to remove from the holster, that may get better over time as out gets worn in a bit.
Conclusion: pretty good case that should do it's job but over priced at this time, at $10 it would be a deal, at $15 it would still be a good value, at $20 it's something I would consider and at the $30 I paid after shipping and handling well I feel like I over paid but I don't feel like I was robbed. I will be keeping it.....for a while at least.
***EDIT***
Ok after playing with it, the fact that the soft outer case is not super tight is not as annoying as the lint sticking to the outside of it.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I have one and have to say the biggest issue is the bulk.
It pops into and out of the holster so simply it's disgusting....dunno why you had problems there ?
If you spend a few moments and make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the soft rubber/silicone outer shell is on properly it is not loose in the slightest. It is in fact quite snug. It's a bit trying to get it on perfect, but it's time well spent..
My complaint about it is when you use the holster as a vertical stand and have the phone facing outwards with the charger cable plugged in...the little flap that covers the charge port is not quite in the correct spot (you'd have to try it and see it for yourself, very difficult to explain).
The holster snap/clasp thing is in the way of that formentioned flap.
Not a deal breaker....I will be keeping the otterpop.
editater>
BTW, it's a holster made to go on your belt or the waist of your trousers....why are you concerned with lint sticking to it when it should never see any lint if used in the fashion it's intended for ?
Well after a little time I figured out why it WAS loose and had went on WAY too easy.......you see I live in a desert.....and it's summer AND my case had gotten stuffed in my mail box for oh at least a few hours before I got home and went to put it on. Now after both it and I have cooled off and had a kick a$$ nap, it fits quite well. Since it's little baking in the desert episode it may never be as tight as it would have been but it is very snug over all and no longer has any gaps or bulges.
As for the holster.....maybe it is because I am left handed or maybe mine it's just extra tight in the holster, but it is a chore to get outso I put it in my pocket.I may try to work with the holster some but together with case and holster it's pretty dang big. I will use the holster on a limited basis more then likely.
***EDIT***
Since I don't really care for the holster I still feel I over paid, but since the soft cover fits better now I don't feel I over paid quite as much.

Personally speaking, I wouldn't use the Defender for day-to-day protection. There are many other options available which offer less bulk and less lint-grabbing.
The Defender is perfect for rough users such as construction workers, farmers, soldiers, truck drivers, etc. The Defender has protected my MoPho twice already while on duty. Both were scenarios where I feel a 'lesser' case may have allowed damage to the device.
$30 is nearly a third of the cost of replacement under insurance. It is a tad on the expensive side. However, I think this is the very best level of personal device protection short of encasing it in a brick of silicon gel.
Compared to the defender I had on my evo the photon defender is perfectly tight. I went straight to radio shack and bought the defender after I bought my photon at sprint 3 days ago and I've only taken it off once to install my new sd card yesterday. As far as it sitting in the holster just make sure you push the rubber in all around the mounting clips on the sides. If they stick up a little it won't secure correctly. I've used defender cases before so I knew what I was getting but I must say this one is very well built.
The only thing that I don't like about the defender cases is that the screen protector just seems to take away from the beauty of device screens. I had my evo in a defender case for a week. I took it out one day and once I saw the screen again I was floored to how much I was missing by having the defender plastic over it!
And boom goes the Shooter
I've had the defender for 3 weeks now and I love it but it isn't for everyone. If you want a somewhat rugged smartphone that can take a few drops there are plenty of cases for you to choose from. If you want a case that protect your phone from falling out of a speeding vehicle then you want the defender, I should know i accidentally left my phone on top of my vehicle when driving away one late night.
It is bulky but that is fine, I don't want a sleek phone that breaks. This thing is like a brick. If you are playing around with the software and usually bork your phone you may want an easier to remove case. I hate doing battery pulls because it takes too long to remove this case and you end up with too many parts in your hands. This case is my insurance policy. Its a great case for people who play hard with their phones. The commuter case is a great case too but you have to match the case to your lifestyle. For me, I wont buy a phone that doesn't have a defender case.
In my experience the phone does not move around inside this case. It stays locked tight in its plastic shell. The rubber can be stretched easily but it is form fitting to the plastic shell and has just enough play to make it comfortable to remove. You have to tuck the rubber in all around the phone, as well as on the sides and on the back near the kickstand. Failure to do so will cause it to shift around but if you properly put this case together it shouldn't move at all. If it does then you may want to call Otterbox.
Now the defender series comes with the adjustable holster. If you do not use a holster then you may want a commuter series case. This thing isn't too easy to get in and out of your pocket since the rubber does grip well to cotton pockets. I use the holster about half the time and keep this thing in my pocket the other half. I'm okay with this but if you wear really tight skinny jeans you'll probably hate this case. So if you don't use holsters or you wear skin tight pants then you should get something else.
The screen protector causes glare and degrades the visual quality of the screen. The camera lens also has a protector over it which I find does degrade the camera quality if it is not properly cleaned. I don't find this to be a deal breaker because I could easily remove that piece of protective plastic. If anything I wish it was removable and replaceable out of the box.
Its a great case that can take a ton of abuse and leave your phone looking brand new.

Car Dock & case.
Is the Defender series compatible with the Car dock? If not how easy is it to remove.
I never tested it on the car dock but I can guarantee you it does not work with the HD Dock. While it is not too difficult, you don't want to disassemble this case on the regular. Reassembly is a *****.

No, I can tell you it's not compatible....I have the Commuter and it doesn't even work in the Car Dock.
I was hoping that by taking off the outer rubber shell of the defender series, that maybe the hard cover would still fit in the car dock. I'll let you know in a few weeks when everything finally arrives in the mail.
Yeah, let us know.....I even bought a cheapo $5 case (the thin plastic ones) just to try it.....nope!! Wouldn't work.
Yeah this case is still a lint magnet even without putting in my pocket and now I have some dust between protective screen and the actual screen.....of course some compressed air took care of it but I had to open it for that. I also worry a bit about heat while tethering. Not that it gets anywhere near as hot as my htc hero did (could fry an egg on it) but if it got warm enough to feel trough hard case AND the soft rubber it must have been pretty warm inside (does it get hotter doing wifi tether as opposed to usb & which uses more battery).

Does anyone know what the difference is between the $50 Defender (Revision A) and the first revision that other sites (other than otterbox.com) sell? The difference in the model # is the letter A at the end.
Can someone post pictures of this case on their phone? I have always bought otterbox defenders but im debating if i should buy another after a bad experience with the one for the Evo 4g.
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
I don't think a picture will do it any justice. It is one of those things you are really going to want to see and touch in person to decide if you like it or not. I like mine, lint magnet and all because it makes me feel my Photon its safe and for that I am willing to live with the trade off of some lint and a little extra bulk. Of course every time I take off the case to clean it I remember just how sexy a naked Photon is and I consider slapping on an invisashield screen protector and going naked.

I just received my otter box defender in the mail today. I bought mine at amazon for $27 + $5 S&H. The case appears to be genuinely an otter box. The box it came in was damaged and opened, but the case itself is fine. My guess is that the amazon ones are cheaper because they are in damaged boxes.
As far as I'm concerned though I'll take the damaged packaging for the $20 savings.
Bought the Defender last month and was enamored by the fact that i can throw, kick, slam the phone anywhere and it wouldn't get damaged. The only problem was (and this was a big one) that the case is so f***ing huge for regular use! I got fed up of that and exchanged the case for the commuter. SOOO much better for everyday, common hazards.

Anyone have any of the SUPCASE Cases

Anyone have any of the SUPCASE Cases?
I am looking at the
Unicorn Beetle Premium Hybrid Protective Case (Frost Clear/Gray)
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-LG-G3...TF8&qid=1407151419&sr=8-7&keywords=lg+g3+case
Unicorn Beetle PRO Series Full-body Hybrid Protective Case
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Case-...TF8&qid=1407161034&sr=1-4&keywords=lg+g3+case
I have the Spigen Slim Armor now but its too slippery and the back scratches easily.
The bigger cut outs of the back buttons on the SUPCASE look like they would be better then how the SlimArmor is setup.
Can any provide any pictures of theres and how they like it? Or if they bought one but ended up not liking it and getting something else?
I received the first one you mention on Friday (clear/black) and I love it.
The fit is tight and the cut outs are perfect. It keeps the phone pretty slim and looks great with the clear back.
I had a similar case for my galaxy s4 from poetic and it was just a great look for me.
If you're rough with your phone and it gets banged around alot or dropped alot, then this might not be for you.
It offers average protection, which is good for me 90% of the time as I work in an office or I'm in my car.
For slightly better protection I bought the verus iron shield which I should be receiving today and am very excited about.
It also looks great and will protect my g3 a little better on the weekends.
Anyway, I do highly recommend the supcase after a few short days and the price is pretty good too.
As far as pics, the ones on amazon do it justice.
Hope this helps. There are many good cases and you won't do wrong with any of them.

Thanks for the input.I was looking at the Versus Thor case also but some reviews said it affects signal. And the back button cut out on is tight like on the slim armor and that kinda bothers me..The supcase button cuts are larger which i think would be better
I'll let you know about the verus as I'll have it this afternoon.
I read the same about signal but I also read in more places that it wasn't true.
The video reviews on youtube really sold it for me an hopefully I like it as much as I think I will.

I have the first one and agree with bkrickels.
I might prefer something a little thinner, but this certainly isn't bulky. No complaints on the back buttons with this.
Definitely no issue with signal. I can keep a call up every time driving on this one road that my GS3 dropped the call on every time.
I do hope Qi works through this case. I'll probably know that next week when my sticker comes.

I got the Unicorn Beetle and so far I like it. It has a good feel in your hands but it does add some bulk to the rear of the phone. It is a somewhat thick case and does add some mm onto the phone and weight.
I forget how much it does so until I remove the case and feel how light and thin the G3 actually is.
It does offer some great protection and this case WILL NOT bounce or fall apart during a fall or impact. The G3 fits impressively nice and snug in its case.
It is a PITA to remove the phone though, this thing is practically cemented in but once you know how to get it off, but just doesn't take as long but still is hard to do so.
It does come with a built in screen protector but I didn't need it because I had a tempered glass one installed. So I removed it and then had to spend half an hour removing all the glue that was holding it in place. The damn protector just pops out and leaves ALL its glue and adhesive on the inside of the front section of the case.
I used Goo Gone, thinner, hot water and soap and I still had to scrub it off. What a PITA...
But, I need a rough and tumble case for my job and the Unicorn does it.
Just be forewarned, it does add a bit of bulk and weight to the phone but it feels good holding it and! It has its corners notched off, giving it a Galactica prop like effect.

Thanks for the info..This Unicorn Beetle PRO Serie is case I am leaning towards..On my past phones Glaxay Nexus and Note 2 i used Otterbox defender and Seidio cases. So I would assume this adds about the same bulk.
Do you have any pics of the phone in the case or side by side to how much bulk it does add?
Also curious if the back scratches easy or holds up well.
I have a glass protector also so id be removing the bultin one
Ordered the Verus Thor from Amazon and I ended up sending it back. To me, it wasn't slim. It added some bulk to it. I have the Seidio Surface and I love it. Minimal bulk and still keeps near its original form factor.
i have the one with the clear back and i had it on my m8 and it is one of the best cases out there.
I just got my G3 on Friday and the first thing I did was go on Amazon and order the Clear/Black Supcase and temepered glass screen protector. They really make the best slim TPU style case. Nice and tight fitting, never had to worry about the material stretching on your like other TPU style cases. If there is a Supcase for my device im running it plus tempered glass and im good! Can't go wrong with it.
Not concerned with the case keeping a slim design..I'd rather have protection over looks
Using a Supcase, black with black.
Slim and works fine with my tempered screen protector.

I'm rocking the Hybrid Case and love it. I've been an exclusive Spigen customer for years but their case had that cutout which turned me away. This Supcase has the same protection level and looks just as good. The clear back keeps the phones sharp look too. Highly recommend!
I have the first one in gray/clear on my white G3. Looks good. Good protection. Have to agree on earlier post that it is difficult to remove phone from.
Did you look ringke max case? For me is perfect one
i bought both!
i love the frost one and the bigger when when i plan to go outdoors (camping, hiking)
but the slimmer frost one is my daily.
I have one but found the straight edges make it a little uncomfortable to hold. I've gone back to the ultra slim gel case from eBay for about 2.99 feels great and noticeably lighter.
i have the slim sup case.
I like how tight fit it is, even though sides are soft, because fit is so tight, it doesn't move at all. really good case
i don't like how the back is so slippery.
try the Digtronic one too.. I'm tempted to order that one as a backup case.
I have the first case you posted in clear with Gray edges. It looks great on my white phone. My only complaint is that the cut outs on the bottom are uncomfortable. When I am playing with my phone for a while. They irritate my pinkie.

Spigen Slim Armor Case Review

So I recently just bought the Sprint Lg G3 and I loved it. I felt very insecure using my phone bare naked and didn't feel comfortable putting it in my pocket in fear of scratching the back or the screen. Within days of having this phone, I have already scratched the back battery plate cover (very minimal though).
So I went ahead and bought the Spigen Slim Armor case along with the iCarez tempered Glass Screen Protector. Both go well with each other.
-Spigen Slim Armor Case: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JQI2LNQ/ref=twister_B00M8RXZ64?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
-iCarez Tempered Glass Screen Protector: http://www.amazon.com/Anti-Scratch-Bubble-free-Fingerprint-Protector-Replacement/dp/B00KGSW734/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1420355354&sr=1-1&keywords=icarez+lg+g3
I have loved both products since I received them. The Spigen armor fits on so well with all the right cutouts (perfect). It doesn't make the phone that fat honestly. The iCarez screen protector is amazing as well. It comes off very easily if you peal the edge with your fingernail which helps when applying the screen. I would highly recommend the iCarez tempered glass screen protector to all G3 owners out there. The quality of the glass is amazing and feels just as amazing as the original screen. It has all the right cutouts and is very easy to install with no problems with air bubbles (but be careful of dirt under the screen).
I'd highly recommend the Spigen Slim Armor to anyone looking for a case.
This is the second phone I have had using a Spigen Slim Armor case with (Samsung GS4 was the first) and I agree with IamFlynn. The case is very nice, great fit, great quality, and it makes the device just slightly fatter than without. It feels like a very expensive case once it is on the phone. As soon as I got the phone, before I left the Sprint store, it was already on. I haven't taken it off much since it feels so good on the phone.

I've had 2 slim armor cases (N5 and this one) and they have both been extremely slippery. So much so that it has actually caused me to drop the phone in times when I normally wouldn't. As for drop protection, I can say this case on my G3 isn't the greatest. It slipped out of my hand once and hit asphalt. The first bounce seemed to do a good amount of protection, but the phone came out of the case and landed separately from the case. I've since gone with a different one with more texture, but this is a slick looking case indeed.
i love this case but i have to agree that it is a little slippery. One thing that really bugs me although i highly doubt that they considered it when designing the case is that i cannot prop it up on something unless the angle is just right because of the hard plastic it just slips. I like to watch netflix when im cooking or what ever and getting this thing to sit upright is chore. But ive had the case since day one and in every other way i love it.

OMG! Me too! haha. My old case for my Epic 4g Touch had a rubber case and allowed me to because of grip but this case just doesn't but I still love it!
I've had the gold case since November and the back gets really scratched up just from being in my pocket.

I'm starting to notice that as well, it stinks but I'm okay with it for now.
I've only had mine since the week before Christmas and mine is all scratched too. Love the case though. Really compliments the phone.
I've had this case for a few months and love it! I've several phones and cases over the years and this is by far my favorite. It forms extremely well to the phone and it isn't too big or bulky.
Per what others have said, mine has a few scratches but that's what cases are for. Just means it's doing it's job LOL

After the comments on here and a typical YouTube research I ordered the Ultra Hybrid case. Looking forward to it. I've had the tempered glass for it and I strongly recommend it to anyone that has a G3

Spigen Tough Armor...Silly but thought I'd ask anyways

I just got my 6T last month for my birthday. Great phone.Used the stock case for a couple for about 3 weeks and decided to get the Spigen Tough Armor. It seems like the case hurts my hand..? Since it's a little wider? Is it just me or is anyone else with the case experiencing this? What other cases can you guys recommend?I'm going to go back to the case the phone came with tonight.
Nope that is the case for this case. Because of the weight it presses down against your finger that naturally rests by the charging port and strains it. I have the case but only use it when I need it.

Spigen Liquid Air is really nice. It's not bulky/heavy and it provides pretty decent protection
can confirm that cases like spigen tough armor can hurt your hand specifically the thumb part due to weight, I remove my case whenever I use it while in bed, I also installed a skin on my 6T to avoid scratching the glass when going naked, I recommend this one from aliexpress:

i second that. I ditched my OEM cases the second i put the Liquid Air on. the only flaw so far is a rough edge on the back where the soft plastic meets hard plastic. it could be a bit more grippy, but the triangle pattern is better than the ones i had on my axon 7s Spigen cases i loved as they were slick af on the back. i have dropped my phone multiple times in that case with a Skinomi and with a Dbrand screen protector. The combos saved my phone. The SPs not so much, but between the case and those, my OP6t is still minty.
Ive the Spigen liquid air. Great case
I went with the poetic case, for 360deg protection, after having a wife proof case on my pixel XL.
I exacto'd off the charging port cover because I didn't like how the cover pressed against the USB cable and caused pressure on the port.
Only downside of the case is that it's not a sealed case like the other, and occasionally I'll take it apart to clean it out. The kickstand predictably broke, but that's to be expected since it's plastic and mounts with a few pins.

I have the OEM nylon case and I have the same issue too. Holding the phone in portrait for a long time hurts my hands. That's why I always take off the case when I'm lying down, but the phone becomes slippery. I'm going to install a skin on this phone, so it's not slippery when naked.
Figured I would chime in on this since I just returned my spigen tough armor.
I liked the case for protection. Had a decent screen side lip and good protection for the camera also.
However, the buttons for me were the worst part. They blend in to the side of the case to where you can't find them in the dark easily at all. The case is bulkier then a slim case but thats to be expected, it didn't bother me that much.
The kickstand was also very weak and doesn't work in portrait. I returned it and got a case that was 1/3 the price and is a little better IMO.
