I have HBOOT-1.57.0000 with OS-4.09.605.1. I was trying to get it S-ON and locked so I could get it replaced. I now have S-ON but I forgot to flash lock bootloader zip before running these commands:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid VZW__001 (2 underscores)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot getvar cid (verify your stock CID)
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
fastboot reboot-bootloader
It says "Relocked" instead of locked. I have tried moonshine, rumrunner, and every RUU I can find but they all give an error. Could someone please tell me how I can get it to say locked again? I will be charged for the phone soon if it is not returned. Thanks.

No ruu will change that. The only think you could do is sunshine s-off it and fix that after rooting it using the adb command to "lock". Then turn s-on. It would cost you $25. If the phone boots, I would personally probably just send it as is. Its s-on and locked and stock. What can they say about that?
This ruu will run but will not change that.

If you have hboot 1.12 why don't you just get it s-off? Or if you don't want that. Your command is wrong. It isn't "fastboot oem relock" it's just "fastboot oem lock"
Hope that helps...

Hey,
I have to revert to my original Firmware for waranty Purposes.
I unlocked my Phone via HTC Method. And i`ve done S-OFF with Juopnutbear (unlimited.io)
Now i have to revert. And i just wanted to verify the steps i have to do.
1. Flash RUU
I have this RUU File on My desktop
RUU_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.28.401.1_Radio_11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262714_signed.exe
this should be right.
2.Type fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
3.fastboot reboot-bootloader
4.fastboot oem lock
Is this right?
I habe to be*LOCKED* not relocked. And S-On

You sir are almost right. There's no need to relock your bootloader if you already did the wire trick and gained s-off. It should say locked at the top of your bootloader. So you don't have to run any commands on fastboot. When you go to have your phone serviced the techs will check your bootloader to see if you unlocked your bootloader. That's the only way they will know if you flashed anything. As long as you have complete stock unrooted and "locked" bootloader they won't deny you service. Just flash the ruu and you'll be straight. It is not recommended to turn back on s-on in doing so, you run a high risk of bricking your phone. As long as you have stock and "locked" bootloader, s-off doesn't matter to them.
Please hit the thanks button if I helped you in anyway. It's free.

fastboot oem lock will most likely have your bootloader showing "relocked". As a matter of fact the only time I have had my bootloader say "Locked" since doing the HTCDev unlock was after doing the wire trick. So maybe do those steps then do the wire trick. Don't install the custom bootloader then go back in to fastboot and do the "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3". Of course don't do the other steps if it says that it is s-on and LOCKED instead of relocked, and the previous post is entirely correct...if you aren't like me and did the HTCDev unlock after doing the wire trick (I had to unlock it for my own peace of mind, even after s-off).
I did the HTC Unlock before Wire Trick.
My Phone is now S-On and Locked
I had Juoponutbear bootloader.
I installed RUU and had original bootloader
Then the command "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3"
And i was S-ON too.
Perfect.
Thank you Guys
My rezound is currently having some major reception issues and Verizon is sending me a replacement phone. Is there a way to turn my phone back to S-ON from S-OFF?

Sure is. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25167284#post25167284
To start, make sure your bootloader is locked and flash a stock RUU.
Plug into your PC and run the following from your adb/fastboot folder:
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
fastboot reboot-bootloader
*verify you are locked s-on
fastboot reboot
Thanks for your help.
I have problem. A seriously problem.
Hboot 1.53.0007 S-ON
My Evo have restarts after showing HTC screen when I try to boot into recovery or normal boot.
After flashing RUU got the same problem.

"fastboot oem writesecureflag 3" is command for s-off device to gain status s-on, u already have status s-on, right?
"fastboot oem lock" is command to lock bootloader, did u try this ?
Just simply relock your bootloader with "fastboot oem lock" download and run official RUU ICS rom, from here http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=Shooter.
After flashing RUU got the same problem.

So I already do this steps and it doesn't work
Only flashing boot from CM9 nightly have difference because it restarts later(on HTC Quietly Brilliant screen).
But why I cant access any recovery after reflashed it using "fastboot flash recovery ....img" command.
Flashing always completed successfully.
Only Bootloader repair with JTAG helped. Now I have s-off and hboot 1.49.007.
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using xda premium
I have an AT&T M8 m8_ul_ca. I bought that from a chinese people.
The device had S-OFF when I receive, but I do S-ON for flash stock ruu.
I did not know the S-OFF device has more flexibility to flash kernel, radio, custom roms etc.
I do S-ON with these commands
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
fastboot reboot-bootloader
why doing S-ON is so easy?
After a while I want to get back S-OFF. I do some research and WHAT! doing S-OFF costs $25.
What these developers do to doing S-OFF exploit? and WHY there is no alternative?
