My girlfriend and I both have 2011 Minipros. Hers has gotten the ICS update, mine hasn't yet gotten it, so I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet.
Her problem is that her phone keeps freezing up. I want to do a repair with SUS. I'm also thinking about copying her SD to the computer, formatting the chip and putting her stuff back on it.
My question is how to backup her apps and data so I can put her phone back together. My 2011 minipro didn't come with the Backup and Restore app that my x10 minipro had, so I downloaded it from Sony. Will this same app work with ICS? Is this the best way to do it? Does someone have a link to this app? It's not on the Android Market.
I'll only have the phone for a few hours this afternoon, so I don't want to get buried too far into it or screw it up.
Thanks!
dave
I think that Titanium Backup will do the job. Even without root, you should be able to backup your apps. Then, you'll have to reinstalla Titanium Backup on the phone after repairing it, and restore your apps
EDIT
I'm actualy not sure about using TB without root... maybe you should wait for someone else's opinion :/
download the .ftf and flash it with flashtool

Titanium Backup doesn't work without root.
Contacts can be backed up via Contacts app.
The Backup and Restore app was partly on 2010 phones, then 2011 phones didn't get it at all and 2012 phones received it with ICS again.
To backup contacts to SD, use the contacts app directly. To backup SMSs, you can use SMS Backup&Restore. If you want to backup calendars, just synchronize them with google until you have repaired the phone. To backup apps and their settings, search the market for "backup" and you'll find something useful.
EDIT
Someguyfromhell, we wrote together. Thank you for clarifying about Titanium Backup!
Sony's Backup and Restore app doesn't appear to work on ICS. The app will install and make a backup, but I haven't had any luck getting it to restore the backup. Looks like I've lost her sms and mms and she'll have to restore her apps manually. Rats.

I properly configured it after I flashed a new ROM and TiB just can't find the backup in my Dropbox. I can't find the answer but it seems other people have the same problem. I really don't want to have to download all the individual backup files and reinstall my apps one by one. That's not why I bought the Pro key for TiB. So...does anyone know how I restore my apps from my backup?
Edit: After 4 tries of uninstalling and reinstalling, apparently, you just need to hit Run in the Schedules section and it will download it from your Dropbox.
Edit: So it appeared to download all my apps but it still wouldn't let me actually restore the apps or data...
Edit: And it somehow managed to get itself to work. Problem unintentionally solved.
Hello everyone
So I've been using root and Titanium backup like since forever, not I switched to a Xaomi phone and I can't root it anytime soon. I want to transfer my apps and my app data the way Titanium does it. I don't just want to install apps in batch. I want to back up and restore apps user files
I looked into different apps but it seems like all of them.just backup apps without used data. I tried (to try) an app called cloneit and it kept disconnecting instantly. I didn't troubleshoot it because I wasn't sure it will even do what I want.
Any suggestions?
Got new phone and i dont want to root thiss phone. My old is rooted, made backup with titanium backup but i can not restore it on the new phone without root.
I need to transfer appdata setting of some apps like authentificators, steam etc ... Helium is not working on certain apps.
any tips ?
thanks
So I have an S9+ that is not able to be rooted, Snapdragon version. What is the best way to backup all my apps if I wanted to move them to another device? Obviously I can't use Titanium Backup. Helium doesn't support backup of all apps. What about Smart Switch, will it backup and restore all apps and data. Also, there is ADB Desktop Backup, but I've also heard this will not backup all apps and data as some developers disable this capability. This seems to be the one thing that Apple has over the Android devices is complete device backups with ease. Hopefully someone can help me out here with the best option to make this happen. Thanks.
