Are you sure you have the 2014 Fire HD 7, not the 2015 $50 Fire 7? (Didn't think HD 7 was updating yet.) If HD 7, look here for root guides:

If Fire 7, the forums are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire

I wonder anyone here install a stock android or cyanogenmod to their 6th gen Fire HD 8.9 successfully? will cyanogenmod website instructions would work for 6th gen too?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
first boot on my brand new Fire HD 8 Gen 7 (2017), I did not enable Wifi yet.
Fire OS 5.3.3.0 (30march 2017)
Anything else you would want me to try ?

I am wondering if there is any currently known way, or a way being created, to root the Kindle Fire HD 8 running Fire OS 5.6.0.0 with OTA updates blocked.
Hey. So recently I rooted my Fire HD 6 4th gen (both of them), and I didn't really want 2 4.4 devices. They're running Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, and I was wondering if any of you guys had an Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM for it. If not that... I'd appreciate any ROMs you have (as long as it's not Nougat.)

Tried looking there. Looks like all of them just downgrade FireOS.

You would have to flash a Custom ROM based on Android 5 and up, what requires you have flashed a Custom Recovery before, what requires bootloader of your Kindle Fire HD got unlocked before.

I already have custom recovery, I just can't find ROMs of Android 5+.
I have tried making ROMs myself, but just ran into a bunch of errors.
