I have a Galaxy S2 with a custom rom, after a year the s2 won't boot. Only I see encryption failed. I have tried to get in the recovery menu but won't work. Now the phone hangs on samsung logo.
Not possible to get in recovery, downloadmode works.
If I try to flash in Odin it fails or hangs. I have tried different stock roms and odin versions and got not succes. I have read about Nand rw corruption. Is it possible and how can I fix it ?
Need help!

hi delimavi1981,
I'm in the exact same situation. my s2 rebooted right after I lunched the camera, then complained about an encryption failure and asked me if I want to do a factory restore which I refused, hoping that this will go away on turning off the phone and turning it on again. unfortunately, now I can only get to download mode where Odin keeps failing or getting stuck!
should I consider this a hardware failure and go for a new phone or possibly a change of motherboard or there are some softwaric hopes?!!
thx
S
software failure, flash a stock rom from odin will fix that
Visit this thread....

It contains everything you need to try to recover your S2.
If it's not in that guide, it's not worth trying.

Hi @NDbluewee....
It's been almost 6 months since I even visited this forum. That link you posted is a redirect to a thread by @Hopper8. He's the go to expert for software issues (I'm more of a hardware person). I don't even have my trusty S2 any more....my kids 'appropriated' it almost a year ago. Sorry I can't be of any help to you fella....

I am new with the Android,
i have a i9100 galaxy, which i have flashed and other phones also (for freinds) several times with new firmware 2.3.4
Bubut this time i was trying ICS on my s2, after installing ICS with odin the phone did not perform well and it was not upgrading the market to google play, so i decided to reformat and install from scratch,
I entered the recovery mode and formated all options then into download mode and i tried to install ICS and the install was not successfully, then i do not why! i decided to reflash the pit, all went well and after the flashing it shut down and never came back on again
Now i have an expensive brick.
It does not start at all (i have tried download mode, recovery mode, remove battery etc.. no luck) it is totally dead
Any one Help !!!!
Thank you
Alot of guides said never do the .pit repartition because you may hard brick your device. Send it to samsung service center for repair.

Seriously, why cannot people understand that flashing the PIT file is totally unnecessary and will more often than not, end up bricking your device?
You'll need to send it to Samsung for repairs.

Thank you for the quick reply, i was hoping for a different answer
i have read that that a JTag cable might help i will try later and get back with results
JTAG repair equipment is expensive & takes expertise to use. You can send it to someone who does JTAG repairs; this one in the US does them for $50 USD, no doubt there are others you can find via Google.

Same problem here , after flashing PIT my phone goes black with no respond at all , no charging .....
As stated on other link, sounds like youve both flashed the wrong pit file and the only repair for this is JTAG service.
Flashing a pit is safe, so long as you do it the correct way and flash all the accompanied files, ive flashed samsung pits and never bricked before, there shouldnt be confusion because samfirmware release a lot of stock roms with the pit file and theres plenty of guides to flash them and there is only 1 pit file by samsung for the i9100, its really up to you guys to make sure you are using the correct file when flashing your phones, if you dont know then you should never touch anything more advanced than a 1 file package.
Hope you get them sorted but i think youll have problems.

Hello friends i'm new with Android recently i saw a video from youtube and download the firmware and followed the instructions but sadly my phones totally dead after that no response from my phone when ever i connect it to my laptop through USB it shows the charging icon for few seconeds and also i booted to download mode with USB but no benefit plz help me
Hi guys... I kinda boot looped my I9100 and now can enter only download mode and.nothing else works phone doesn't even boot..I tried almost every tutoriol and I keep getting stuck at Nand write operation ..only thing which successfully flashes is the bootloader alone ..even bought a new battery and tried as mine was old and still no luck ..help please ;-(
Help pretty please......
im not expert, but i think that you need to flash a rom via odin(and disable kies)....
Firstly, please make a more descriptive title. So people would know exactly what you are talking about.
Follow this tutorial.

Congrats you have flashed wrong kernal..
Now do one thing..
Go to gokhanmoral. Com
If you were running ics download 4.1.5 odin flash able tar file.. Flash throw odin.
If you were on gb download and flash 2.3.5 tar file...
If this doesnt work you need to flash stock rom via odin from sammobile.com for your country..
Make sure you have mobile version GT I9100 AND NOT GT I9100G...

So my S3 went into a boot loop. And I dont know how I got to this point but now the phone wont even boot, when plugged in to my comp it shows the battery symbol but its greyed out with the circle in the middle, and it stays like that. If i hold the power putton it comes up with the Galaxy SIII GT i9300 screen but then goes back to the battery. I can get it to go into download mode though. I think somehow I may have deleted all the files required for the phone to actually boot(Im a n00b so im not completely sure) Can somebody please help me?
I was on custom ROM before and my binary counter is at 4, so sending into samsung doesn't sound like a great idea :/
Thanks for the help and sorry if this has been asked before, I have searched for hours.

If you also can go into recovery, try to wipe. In addition did you flash any custom kernel?
If not, try to reflash a rom with odin after you got into download mode or did you try this already?

If you mean with CWM mod, no I cant, it just shows the Galaxy S3 GT i9300 screen then goes black. Yes i did have a custom kernel, I believe it was the latest Perseus one. I already tried this with a stock rom and it idnt work, it said it had passed but i still can boot the phone.

as you can go into download mode but not recovery, what about flashing CWM another time (if you did not try it already). Maybe it solves the issue with recovery and from there you could go on trying to wipe etc.
Other options would be to do a mega or super wipe (if this is possible from odin & download mode, not sure though), to get your phone completely empty (mega) or at least to factory reset (super).

The thing is there is nothing wrong with my phone in terms of hardware. The problem that I am having is purely software, I think I just need to restore my phone to a previous version. I did see that thread but didnt feel my post belonged there as my problem is nothing to do with broken battery or mobo or anything along those lines. Hence why I am posting here
Just factory reset via recovery then flash a stock rom via Odin .
No recovery flash CF root via Odin .

I did install a stock ROM and it was still stuck on bootloop, left it like that for an hour, still nothing. So I went into CWM (after flashing it) Wiped and factory reset (noticing it said error mounting /data but ignored) and then restored with a backup I had. it did say error mounting /data and so skipped that step. Still stuck in boot loop. now that I try wiping again the same error occurs, error mounting /data any ideas please?

Low ship I9300 firmware for flashing with PIT. (three files firmware)
Hello,
I'm having a strange problem since I'd flashed Cyanogenmod 10.2 on my device. I was running smooth for couple of days and then suddenly it restarted and stuck on Samsung bootlogo. Whenever I'd tried to power on it was stuck there. Then I tried odin flash stock latest NG3 rom and the phone asked for pit. After this it's not working anymore except the Download mode. It shows on odin but when I try flashing anything it fails all the time. Please if anybody can help me on this :crying:
I had never have a problem of this kind while flashing other devices hundreds of times but this one.

@mistermish2000, I'm not a pro but I believe that your partition is corrupted.
If you flashed with PIT selected then you can try to use a recovery firmware for your device from XDA. That would be a last resort though.

No this is a sign of complete eMMC failure see this post >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/problem-white-screen-black-lines-rain-t2467459 << I have never seen anyone recover from this and I have seen quite a few posts with the same problem. Service repair recommended :crying:
Try reading the 'dead boot repair solution' thread in general forum, a repair shop with a z3x box will be able to tell you if the emmc is totally fried.
