I am using ASUS Padfone S, just purchase last month with tablet dock.
The problem is I can't get Qi charging on my phone. Have been using qi chargers on my mobiles such as Nexus 4 (native), Samsung Note 2 & Note 3 (with added receiver pad) & even with motorola RAZR maxx & Xiaomi Mi3 (with USB wired charging receiver), all working fine, except the latest Padfone S.
I hv sent in a complaint to ASUS Malaysia since last month, still pending & they seems clueless about wireless charging , eventhough in the local brochure, Qi charging for this phone was clearly stated.
I have even bought an expensive "original" ASUS charger W200PF from taiwan Via ebaY & it will charge ALL my other Qi devices EXCEPT the Padfone S !!!.
Anyone has any idea what could be the issue?. How it can be resolved?. I tried getting a Qi receiver pad for this model from ebay but seems there is none existing!. Please advise.
Thank you.

Same for my case. Also bought it from Asus Malaysia, thought can use the wireless charging but the phone showed repeated on-off charging (not constant charging).
Wireless Charging - Padfone S White & Black
Hi, im from Indonesia, and my friend which has the Pure White version already tried to Charge using Standart Qi Charger, and it does pretty well! :good:
But then i tried with my Deep Black Padfone S which is so controversial here, using Nokia Qi Charger, and shockingly the problem is really the same with you! No constant charging, just blinks... :crying:
Were some of you already find the solution?
(sorry for bad english)

Coincidentally i'm also using black color version.
Yet rectify the problem. Just complaint to Asus Malaysia.
Hi ahfatt, please help us make complaint to nccc, not sure if you're a member of Lowyat network, but here's the link to my complain template:-

the padfone s doesn't support qi charging. it uses a different wireless charging standard: pma.
Other forums have said the Padfone S plus from Malaysia has issues. But if you get yours from Taiwan it should work fine. There is some hardware issue with Malaysia version of the phone.

This is the best mat you can find right now.
The Powermat by Duracell works well and charges just as fast as the USB charger or the tablet dock . I picked one up on amazon brand new for about $18 ( plenty still around
I picked up the 4s and portable charger bundle for a steal. This is using the standard backplate that came with the phone. Many cell phone reps will tell you the phone doesn't come standard with wireless charging and try to sell you the folio as a "wireless charging bundle" for $70,don't be fooled!.
Alignment is good, natively the Duracell branded cases and portable charger have a magnetic pull to the phone to keep it in place. When placing the PadFone on the plate there is no magnetic pull. Make sure you lay evenly. The wireless charger will make a beep to let you know it has a handshake with the device.
Works flawless so far, no complaints.
Update #1 Turns out the Padfone X is only PMA compliant, This wireless charger is apparently one of the only ones available. There are different styles of powermat available. But no Qi compliance.
Update #2 This kit also came with the iPhone 4/4s adapter and a PowerBar, the power back can be attached to either a Padfone Tablet station or the Asus Bluetooth Padfone keyboard to provide "passthrough" charge.
Sent from my ASUS PadFone X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks for posting this review! I just ordered the exact same thing from Amazon yesterday and I wasn't sure if it was going to work. I was completely skeptical since just the Powermat is normally $50 through at&t.
Grab one at that price while you still can, less than $20 got me this whole set

Thanks for the heads up. Just picked up my new padfone X tonight after my beloved skyrocket fell and broke the screen. The rep thought the same thing about the wireless charging that I needed a wireless case. I asked to test out the 50 dollar duracell charging pad and sure enough "beep" and I was charging with just the phone out of the box. Nice find. This is a win win cause I also have an iphone 4s for my afterhours phone support for my job. Utter win here.
Thanks again.

Powermat charges fast but alignment is finicky
I also bought the iphone 4 powermat bundle from Amazon. I do like the audible and visual confirmation you get when it starts charging the device. Also it beeps when the device is fully charged. But overall you need to place the phone just right on the pad otherwise it beeps on and off and you end up taking extra time just to make sure it's charging. I owned a Nexus 5 before my Padfone and QI charging is a lot better you just drop the phone on the pad and it charges no problem never had to adjust the phone for it to charge.
But I waited forever for the Padfone to hit the US, so I can live with the charging issue.
After a while you figure out the sweet spot for charging hence the phone doesn't magnetically lock to the powermat, but when you connect, you'll have a full charge in no time
I also purchased the Duracell Powermat and it charges the phone fine, however one problem I have is that it seems to Overcharge the phone. I know this because of two things
1. "Battery Doctor" App reports that the phone had been overcharged
2. Phone is very warm/borderline hot to touch when I pull it off the charger in the morning
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am concerned because overheating shortens the battery life of these phones so I want to prevent that. this does not happen when I charge via USB.
Battery doctor app is not a good representation for phones that support qi or pma charging. The phone will get warm, but not alarmingly warm. The science of contactless charging.
These are still available for under $20 with free shipping, looks like. A great buy for sure.
I received mine before I ever even got my PadFone X. With the issues arising theoretically being theoretically linked to charging the phone and station together for long periods, this frees up the included charger to charge the station by itself.
Can't thank the OP enough for passing on this find!
Just my two cents, but....

I have an old Samsung Qi wireless charging pad, and my Padfone S works with it. I will admit, the powermat charger is much faster - but Padfone S does support Qi chargering pads. Not sure about Padfone X.

I'm not noticing this issue with my Padfone S. In fact, my old Samsung phone (Qi standard) did get warm, but Padfone S doesn't.
For that matter, my Padfone S doesn't heat up when I have it tethering a wifi data connection to my laptop or other portable devices. I've only felt my Padfone S heat up on 2 occasions - both of which I was in a dead zone and the phone was powering up the antenna to try to get a signal.
Hi guys. I bought my G3 few months ago. Its not a new one, I bought it as second hand but condition is 99,99%.
As the information I got from the seller its D855 Vodafone - International.
So my question is as those images i shot on my back case is this true that my phone can use with a Qi charging pad right away now or not?
Because after searching through the net, I didn't find any information about Qi charging relate to G3 Vodafone.
The receiver on my back case has 4 pins (as I know 2 is for NFC, and the other 2 will be for Qi charging).
The problem is I went to other shop (not really a shop, this guy just shipped items from China), he was selling some Qi charging pad. I put on 1 pad there but nothing happen, try many angles but still the same.
So whats the problem, my phone or his pad?
And here my back case. Thanks for your feed back and sorry for my bad English:
Yes, it should work.

Make sure the golden square hits the ones on the back of the phone
Is there anyway i can get qi wireless charging on my f400s by buying a back cover which supports qi?
Qi works out of the box
Yes your G3 should be Qi compatible out of the box...I have a Panasonic, and Nokia Qi Charger, and they start working about 2 seconds after I place them on the charge pad.
Just FYI, the G4 on the other hand isn't Qi Compatible out of the Box...Go figure, I guess Quick Charge 2.0 is the better standard...=(
Hello everyone, i bought a wireless charger for my phone and it doesn't work, how can i get this to work? This is the one I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/QI-Wireless...hash=item51dc0964f3:m:m6YzxgN3ms_BH3VTDYfD8mg

Consider placing this request for help troubleshooting in the G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum, and don't forget to link the charger you bought.

What kind of LG G3 do you have? (D855, ls990, etc.)
Also make sure your battery cover has the wireless charging antennas!
It's a known problem if you don't place the coil of your phone exactly above the coil of the charger. You need to find a proper place on the charger to put the phone there.
Another issue may be that you're providing not enough power to the charger itself. From my experience the charger must be at least 1,8A. Any less gives the result you described. Of course also use good usb cables which can transmit more than 700 mA Best would be if you try it with the original G3 charger with original cable.

the seller says it is Not compatible with LG G3 as i can see
I tried 2 different no-name chinese wireless chargers and had problems with both. Charging would not last more that 2-3 seconds.
The wireless charger won't work with any general charger. You need to use LG Stock charger that came with your phone or similar output (1.8A) adopter to make it work.
Hit thanks if I helped.
I really like Qi wireless charging.
My all previous phones are QI enabled.
Now, I have Moto Z but I do not want to make it bulky, so do not want to use battery mod.
I purchased usb c qi receiver, but did not work.
I tried another one, also did not work.
https://www.amazon.com/UniQi-Wirele...e=avp_only_reviews&sortBy=recent&pageNumber=2
Like the reviews mentioned about Moto Z, I am on the same boat.
I do not understand why...
qi receiver is just have a coil, generate power and deliver it to usb c, and phone should get the 5V power from it.
Is there anything blocking it from Moto Z itself?
The MotoZ does not support QI/aka "wireless" -charging by itself. I have the TUMI battery mod and THAT does allow wireless charging.
I am using this charger and it works fine.

No... I do not mean that..
I was talking about USB Qi Receiver pad. You can see it on the amazon link on my first thread.
I got the answer by myself.
I figured out, most of Qi receiver has short USB C connector. See the attachment picture.
Some phones are ok with short one, but Moto Z need regular size to connect inside of USB C port.
I purchased 4 of the receivers, and 3 of them has same short one, does not work with Moto Z.
Only one has a regular size one, and finally I made my Moto Z working with Qi.
Hey - just curious which one worked? Amazon link perhaps?
this one worked for me
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01G18149A/ref=pe_386430_205708660_TE_3p_dp_1
u might find it elsewhere as it is no longer available in amazon canada

Sorry for late response.
I've ordered some from China (Aliexpress) and they worked.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/SCE...32789643717.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.aq8Apt
This works fine so far. I am using it now.
One thing is, this charging receiver does not work with some specific qi chargers. It keeps disconnecting/connecting every 5 seconds.
I have total 5 chargers, and 2 of them does not work with this receiver. I purchased more "cheap" chinese qi chargers and they worked.
Looks like only cheap chargers work with this receiver..
Also, the charging speed is a little bit slow and sometimes generates heat a lot.
I will buy the Moto Mod for qi charging when it is released.
Can you repost the qi receivers that worked for moto z droid ie name/model? I am having the same problem, and the links do not work anymore
