NOOB ALERT!
I have an international HTC amaze (unbranded/no carrier). I'm on gb 2.3.5 and have boot loader unlocked, 4ext recovery flashed and SU zip flashed (rooted). I'm s-on and has not done those supercid stuff. I once flashed a jb rom it booted and as soon as I touch the screen at the configuration wizard that shows up after first time boot it restarts. This happens 2-3 times then it just gets stuck in bootloop (HTC logo then blank screen then HTC logo and so on). I want to upgrade to latest available android version (either with stock or custom rom+no HTC sense -_-) and over clock the cpu(i have not flashed any kernel yet). Also, I was under the impression that I cannot flash any rom or kernel without s-off +supercid so I've been using my amaze on stock rom +4ext recovery and root.
Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Here's fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38516237&postcount=2
4EXT will allow you flash rom's without S-OFF, by enabling the "SmartFlash" feature.

My device is working fine(posting this from my phone) after I wiped everything and restored a backup from 4ext.i don't need to flash the ROM in this link, I think. My concern is that after the fix (in gb to ics guide) I should s-off and on the link for guide to s-off it says "not stock rooted". But I have rooted my device even though I'm on stock rom. What should I do about this?
Also I forgot to mention I flashed the rom (which resulted in bootloop) with smart flash option on in the 4ext recovery.

Glad you got it working.
You CANNOT move from gb to jb without installing ICS--period.
If you want to stay gb then find a launcher at google play store to make it look pretty, and find an alternative to overclock your cpu since you are rooted.
Bear in mind that overclocking your cpu is DANGEROUS.

ok so i want to move to JB. I will have to follow the GB to ICS guide. In that guide one of the steps is to get S-off. I open the juppunutbear S-off page and one of the requirement is to have a 'stock rom' (not fresh rom, not harmony rom, not STOCK ROOTED) but my device IS stock rooted. If I continue with the procedure to S-off, will i brick my phone? Or should I unroot my device first then do S-off? and then follow the remaining steps on the GB to ICS guide and then I will be able to flash JB custom roms?
Thanks alot.

It would be wisest to follow their directions EXACTLY. It's simple to re-root your phone once you've un-rooted it, and it is the way to get to JB which is what you want. Thousands of us have done it exactly that way and it worked.
Once you've gone from GB to ICS, find the radio update and apply it before re-rooting or anything else--see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219637
Bear in mind that NO JB ROM has a perfectly functioning camera. They may do 720p depending, but not 1080--at least not cleanly. There may also be speakerphone volume issues--I don't recall exactly. Check the threads to find which will perform as you like.

this radio update from the link you provided in previous comments is the same one that's in the GB to ICS guide step number 7?

The link that says "ChevyCowboyUSA" is the radio--the link with from #7 in the guide is hboot.
Follow all the steps in the guide--I think that once you've flashed the stock ruu, it will revert your recovery to stock recovery and that is why you will need to flash it again.
Keep your phone unlock code handy, because I think you will need it again after flashing hboot--I'm not certain, but it will be best to have it.
Once you've flashed the ICS ruu followed by the hboot (as presented in the guide), then you can flash the radio according to the instructions in the radio post. After that you can unlock/custom recovery/whatever to flash custom roms and the radio will already be updated, as will the ability to flash ICS/JB.

Don't remember but I think you MUST have the radio or nothing new will work.
Chevy's looking to see if he has the radio somewhere.
Someone might reply to us with the radio.

Here's where RUU's for different carriers are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617644
The way I see it, you don't need an RUU--you need an OTA--select the one for your carrier.
See how well your phone works after installing the OTA. Maybe you won't need to do anything after that except install the ROM's you want to.
Good luck--lemme know how it goes.

i have a locked bootloader( which was locked after flashing stock ics ruu from step 6. cant i just flash recovery, root and the flash pac man rom?

Here is where I am confused
I had my Flyer 3G 32GB . S-OFF'd by Revolutionary when I was on GB
Then I had installed LeeDroid's HC rom and I was on HC, everything is fine till now.
Recently I wanted to go back to GB but I could not ( I got some HTC screens so I gave up) then I flashed GLOBATRON'S methods and I am on S-OFF, Rooted HC 3.55.x.x stock Rom from his thread.
Currently there is a new OTA for my 3.55.x.x ROM and I have the RUU file for the OTA.
After running the OTA RUU , now my Flyer is on HC 3.62.x.x but I can not root it. CWM method is not working on the Revolutionary site as this rom is HC , I manually flashed the CWM img thru fastboot but no go.
My question is how to root my Flyer again after flashing the RUU file of the OTA 3.62.x.x from rooted 3.55.x.x
I know that if I flash a rom like Leedroid's it will work, but instead I want to flash the Original OTA RUU and the root it somehow. There is NO instructions on how to do it for Flyer.
My question is how to flash the CWM and SU onto my new HC 3.62.x.x Rom
Can I somehow remove the ROM and RADIO of the already rooted 3.55.x.x by Globatron and replace with ROM and RADIO of 3.62.x.x ? If yes how to do it ?
Or what to do ?

I believe, since it is the ota, that you need to complete the steps of the tacoroot/ misc version method of downgrading from globatron and then flash the gb ruu for your device, I don't believe it matters which hboot you have for hc. Then use globatrons honeycomb s off ruu on top of that and bingo! Hope I helped

I already used some of them but I wasnt happy with the battery drainage.
I was on Leedroid and battery drain was fast somehow, currently I am on the rooted stock 3.55 and my battery is 80% since I took it off the charge this morning at 8.00am
I used it full time for 1 hours when I was going to work in my car. Normally with Leedroid I could never get 80% at this time since I do regular things with my flyer every work day , such as check my e-mails, facebook, twitter when I am on the 1 hour way to work.

Here is the LINK of the RUU of the OTA
Now I am S-OFF by Revolutionary , and rooted by Globatron's HC 3.55.X.X from this link
This is the info about it :
Instructions Part 2
The large download is a stock HoneyComb 3.55.405.1 for 3G and 3.55.1114.31 for WIFI with the following changes:
Rooted
Busybox
Secure flag turned off on the boot image
Stock recovery replaced by CWM
My Android knowledge tells me , if I replace the ROM.ZIP and RADIO.ZIP of that rom with the pnes from the latest RUU , it can work.
But if it is something else, I wouldn't know it anyway
Quick Note
I have not had any reports of battery drainage on my ROM, its listed as Senseless 4.1.0 in the threads, maybe give that a go ?

Here's a link to the radio.img from the 3.62.468.1 RUU if you wanted it. You can flash it to your Flyer in fastboot using;
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
If for some reason something doesn't work have globatron's RUU ready at hand.

Any suggestions of how I can get back to "stock?"
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Many people have done it on custom ROMS... I had trouble initially when on CleanRom and then switched to a different computer and flashed the stock rooted GB rom, NOT the RUU and the thing ran straight through successfully. So was the ROM the problem, don't know and didnt' care, I was S-off If you have the time, flash the stock ROM before you start. If you find the rooted one, you don't have to relock then unlock the bootloader.
Make sure you use an old SD card...I had to flash a recovery and boot.img between major failures..so have those handy...hopefully you will 'sail through!!!' Good Luck. :good:

Yea it's pretty simple. On my other stock Rezound all I did was HTC dev unlock and flash amon ra and then did the s-off. Main thing to remember is "DO NOT HTC DEV UNLOCK" after you get s-off.

I wouldn't.
just because it has a new hboot.
it would be really bad if they find a root exploit finally for out old hboot and then everyone updates to the new OTA with new hboot..
For those running this, does it have the option to disable the black menu bar on the bottom like the Evo 4G LTE got?
Hey devs, Im intnl , tried to update phone via wifi and no luck . Is it possible to see hboot flasheable zip for completely stock locked phone ?

This is a rom built off the update, you'll need to be rooted to install it, the update itself will install on your phone automaticcally if you so desire, when it is available, haven't heard that anyone has recieved it yet

So, the ROM listed in http://www.filefactory.com/f/75712a64f20bd56e/ is not the RUU?
Code:
RUU_Fireball_WL_S_VERIZON_WWE_2.17.605.2_Radio_1.53.06.0919_NV_VZW_2.63_002_release_283671_signed.exe
It is behind FileFactory's pay-wall, I admit. Is that why it isn't considered "released"?
So is there any chance this update will have some kind of unpatched exploit to get root?

I'm downloading it now, but I won't upload it. I'll wait for Football's official release before I mirror it.
Thanks for posting this, Nit. It installed perfectly and I ran it for a few days. As much as I like the Sense 4.1, its hard to give up all the tweaks I'm enjoying on the Venom Team's release. Will I be able to use the newer boot with the Venom ROM ?

Yes, but you all need to pull the wifi module as well and push that
So forgive the possible stupid question, but so long as were already HTCDev unlocked (did mine day one it was released) updating to the new boot.img won't relock us i assume.
Also say i install this newer version then decide i want to revert back to my custom rom based on the original RUU (QX senseless), would having the newer boot.img installed stop that or cause issues?

Once your unlocked your unlocked.
You can relock if you so desire but you will need to install the full ruu and then you can always unlock again.
Will the 3 button remap, and the volume wake mods work with this?

unlock your bootloader using hasoon aio kit here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493905
relock your bootloader again.
format you externel sd card.
download a different copy of PH85IMG.
you know the rest..
so i format the sdcard after i relock thebootloader? because it wont let me into recovery once my bootloader is locked the only place it allows me to go is inside the bootloader

No,formatting the sd card is a different issue, its for clear all the possible bad sectors and files....put your PH85IMG file after formatting the sd card...and you do not need recovery while you returning to stock...right
If i,ve helped you, then don't forget to hit the thanks button

you do not need recovery to flash a stock ROM,because the fastboot automatically detects your PH85IMG from your ext sd card.

relock the bootloader then flash your ruu once it's done flash the jbear hboot (or else you'll have trouble flashing the recovery) plus since you already have an ics firmware why are you messing your phone up :S just flash some rom and enjoy it? you keep flashing stuff more than using your phone as a phone :/
I unlocked and installed cm 10 before I s-off. Could not run s-off successfully without stock.
So... I asked similar questions a month or so back about Telus.
I can't successfully rollback to the gb ruu or the ics ruu. The ics ruu is an ota which appears to need an gb install.
Pure stock tmous ruu check for tmous cid and fails when it finds the Telus cid.
Finally installed arhd 4 and s-off tool ran without error. I could then flash radio and hboot

ARHD4 is short for Android Revolution HD version 4 which has recently been updated to version 5. It's a ROM that's very close to stock T-Mobile OTA from March of 2013, it's deodexed, with minor tweaks and slight debloating, and addons which are done through the Aroma installer. It can be found in the dev section of this board.

I don't believe you can s-off with any non-stock ROM (though I may be mistaken). I think you need to be on the latest factory image from your carrier before you can run the s-off hack or it won't work. Reread through the instructions carefully and I think you'll find what I'm saying is correct.

ARHD won't help you for several reasons. First, it isn't a stock ROM, it's been rooted, deodexed, and some apps removed from stock. Second, it's based on a T-Mobile ruu and you don't have the T-Mobile version of this handset. There are several threads which detail how you can get back to stock, please read them, use the search function, and do some research for yourself rather than spamming the board requesting help.

Reread my post. I didn't say you couldn't flash it, I said you couldn't attain s-off with it, because it isn't a stock ROM for your device. In order to attain s-off the CID of the ROM has to match the CID of your handset. The vast majority of ROMs for the Amaze are made from a T-Mobile base so they are incompatible for your purposes because of this mismatch. What about this fact do you not understand? There have been many threads written about this, and the solutions have been given to you by several folks here in the forum.
Regardless, please discontinue spamming the board, especially when you have been told how to resolve your issue. You were the one who didn't initially follow directions and are now stuck, not any of us. If you're incapable of following basic directions or searching for the answers yourself then you shouldn't be modding your phone in the first place.

OP is obviously unclear on the basic facts and steps, and needs to learn more before proceeding.
S-off is not needed to run RUU. RUU will install stock ROM. And why do you need to RUU in the first place?
