[Q] How do I root my Samsung Galaxy S II running kernelversion XWKJ3?

Hello everybody,
I got myself my very first Android phone yesterday, and I'm really glad with all of it's features, but I'd like to root it, the problem is is that it's running on kernelversion XWKJ3 and I can't find any thread, post, video, etc about if it actually IS possible to root the phone on this kernel, because according to some videos I need a speciffic kernel to root the phone, and I just can't find any, and I'm out of ideas. I don't know if it doesn't matter what kernel you need, or anything, and I can't seem to find it either.
Thanks already for just taking your time to read this,

Everything you need to know about rooting is here.
Basically everything you need to do to get root, is to flash a kernel, that has root enabled
It's in the 7th post of this thread.

Rooting your phone won't magically make it update past 2.3.5.
Regarding how to root your phone, there are stickies in these forums with all the information you need.
thank you, I understand everything now (at least I hope so.)

[Q] Rooting Samsung Galaxy S II

Hello.
I need access to a file, but on several sites on google - all say that i need to root...
So i want to root my phone, but still keep the "official" android (dont want CyanogenMod etc.)
But im really insecure on how to root my phone - and how risky is it?
Can you please provide me with a guide (with pictures please) on how to root it.
PS: Can i still update my android, if i root the phone?
Will all the data on the phone be deleted? like reinstalling windows....

You should have posted in galaxy s2 section but:
You can keep stock android, just follow this link to root your S2 and it will be fine. There is also video tutorial in the link
You won't be able to update your phone with Software Update but you can always find the latest firmware for S2 from SamFirmware
The sam firmware website is where you can find all the stock firmware for the S2
Your files will be fine such as music pictures etc they will not be wiped and it's not risky to root your phone with the link above
If you have any other questions just ask

Kernel?
Hey.
What is the kernel doing? is that another rom or so? :S
Also heard alot of rumors about the Odin - that is was unstable and such, can you confirm that?

[Q] Galaxy S3 i9300T Australian - Rooting Procedure

Hey all,
--hoping I'm posting in the correct section--
Recently I happened to acquire a galaxy S3 i9300T (australian) from a friend who didn't need it any more, with 4.1.2 jellybean installed on it.
Specifically the vodafone DUEMB1 version/build from Thailand. I'm living in Southern Europe though.
I hope it doesn't matter much, even if it's the Australian model of the phone.
It seems to already be network-unlocked.
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction since I'm mainly interested in rooting it.
Mainly for the super user rights (all folder access) and to be able to run applications such as titanium backup. It's all that matters to me for easy backup.
I saw in one thread that there is the Chainfire CF-auto root that is supposed to make this very easy.
Is it compatible with the version and build I have though? Or should I first install another stock rom version or something?
Also last question. After the root, is it mandatory to install anything else or is the phone good to go ?
Thanks in advance and sorry if a question seems silly, I'm kinda new to this.

Chainfire CF auto root will be easy to follow as it was the first rooting method i did with my Galaxy S3 Australian model. Good luck!

[Q] New member need help with gs3 root

I'm new to rooting and phones in general, I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy SIII (SGH-T999L) off the streets I wanted to root it however I keep finding different firmwares and I'm afraid I might flash the wrong one and brick the device, I wanted to see if anyone could point me in the right direction here.
Model: SGH-T999L
Android version is 4.3
Baseband version is T999LUVUBNF4
I keep checking around but not a specific "LUVUBNF4" root firmware is available I wanted to know what is the equivalent of this firmware and where can it with root access already in it, thanks in advance.
