You can use a PS3 controller as a controller with the Nexus 6 without root. You just need to pick up a USB OTG cable

Um I just use http://www.amazon.com/INSTEN®-Micro...26171&sr=8-4&keywords=micro+usb+to+usb+dongle
Not sure if you can get that in the UK, but if you can, it works for me.
EDIT: and I use a PS3 controller, or a wired 360 controller

Sorry to hear that. What about the Moga controllers?

I actually got a free Moga Pocket Controller from their twitter promotion a couple of years ago. It's their low-end controller, but it works fine on my phone and tablet without rooting.

Does the Wiimote app work?
Nope

Expected it wouldn't work, since this will be using Samsung's own BT stack, and not the stock Android one (which is the only one that works with the WiiMote app). Guess we'll be sticking to BT keyboard/mouse for controlling the SGSII, just like the SGSI before it. USB gamepads may work though, with the USB OTG ability, wonder if any owners can try that out for us?

Oh my god --'. I'm sorry ><. I saw 28 april... and i did not see 2011 u__u.
So, Playstation Mobile was released today. I installed the .apk on my S3 and can confirm we aren't supported.
Think anyone will release a crack?
I really don't know, it depends how the app finds out what model you are on, not compatible with hardware, possibly.
If I was Sony though I would check the model of the phone and check servers then probably not, unless people want to spoof their model number.

Hmm okay. I guess we'll be getting support at some point. There's not too many games out of it at the moment anyway.

You could try this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...tion-mobile-for-android-on-any-rooted-device/
I don't know if that method works on the GS3, however. After being the unlucky owner of a 3G Vita (which I gave to my brother, who doesn't use it anymore after he got a GS2), there's no way I'm letting any **** like that onto my phone. Sony can go to hell.

An android smartphone is no replacement for a dedicated handheld games console. Actually compared to phones you get way more for your money.

I would say the other way, "It's a shame that Samsung doesn't support PlayStation mobile on such a powerful device."
I installed it with the method on Android Police, but "files over 20MB can only be downloaded via WiFi" ok uninstall.
Also @onesolo it's not Samsung, it's Sony, they make the app, they have to make it compatible, unless you want Samsung to replace all hardware in the S3 with the hardware of supported devices, then it might work.
This will update the Bluetooth drivers to add HID support for things like keyboards and mice.

unfortunately I still can't get WiiremoteController (or w/e the app is called) to recognize my wii controller :/
Is there something I'm missing? I heard there are extra steps in getting it to work on most HTC devices.. or is that what you did? haha
I had thought what I did would allow the controllers as well, but only had a kybd to test.
Sorry guys.

Quick bump for an awesome area of development. I am really hoping to see BT connectivity for video game controllers. Extra thanks to any extra attention that can be given in this direction. Now that we have S-off, should be way easier, right? (j/k j/k wink wink nudge nudge)

Let's hope
In my case I dont have any hurry to buy it now. And without micro sd support I will wait until otg usb storage is confirmed.
I have a Nexus 4 and it doesnt have full otg native support.
I currently have a Asus TF201 tablet, slowly and laggy tablet, but with great storage capacity (microsd, otg, and extra storage via keyboard dock).
Yeah, one reason I skipped Nexus 4 was because of lack of USB OTG support.
Event hough the online manual first stated that Nexus 4 support USB OTG, Google retracted the manual with the new one that says it doesn't support it.
So I'll wait until someone got a hands on on this.

I'm fine rooting my device if that's what it takes. But if I root, run a custom ROM/kernel, I'll definitely be able to get OTG support, right?

Huh when?
Hello, I am unsure if there is a thread about this topic, I have not found one, but remember reading that there are some issues with using an Asus Padfone X with T Mobile service. I will be using the phone unlocked on the Ting provider, I will be rooting it, and have seen that some people are flashing the S firmware on it.
Are there any issues with using the phone in this way? And are there any limitations, like not being able to use the tablet dock or something like that?
I'm using a PFX flashed with PFS firmware on T-Mobile with no issues. Tablet dock works fine. Just make sure you SIM unlock your device.
