Hi!
My gear fit has some problems with notifications on Facebook messenger. If i receive a new message, the watch doesn't vibrate and screen stays off.
If i look in the notifications menu on the watch, the facebook messenger icon appears and i can See the notification. So the watch receives the notification but doesnt alert me..
All other App-Notifications and alerts work perfectly.
Anyone with the same issue?

i hace same problem but with whatsupp notifications ,Facebook works ok.
I have RX350XXU0BNE5 versión on gear fit. it's updated last week, before update worked fine

I have the same problem, but i think that is because the bubbles are open, if i close the bubbles from messenger app, the notifications work
For me the same happens with whattsapp. I`m still lookimg for solution. This is the only app that doesnt work.

After tried almos everything i've found solution for whatsupp notifications:
You have to set vibrate instead of "default" to "short" inside whatsup, this makes gear fit vibrate when it get notification and the mobile vibrates as well correctly. If set as mine in silent mode it doesn't vibrate but gearfit does as it should be
Maybe facebook messenger app have this kind of settings to override android general notifications system.
(Sorry for my cherokeesh english, it's not my mother tonge as you can see)

This drives me crazy...both whatsapp and Facebook messenger disregard device notification setup (silent, vibrate) and you have to change them in app manually every time for each app. This it so stupid, how can they be made to follow the current device notification profile?
Anyone have any luck on getting a different messaging app to work with the GS? I love and use ChompSMS and it is my default app, but it will not allow me to respond on my GS. Only the default messaging app will allow that.

It suck but looks like Samsung blocked us Gear S users from using anything but their own sms app to send.
Don't think they do it on purpose. Most probably a compatibility thing as the gear s uses tizen.
Same issues that the gear 2 watch series have.
I use chompsms with my gear s
It works like a charm
The sms poppes up and i can reply to it.... no problem
But i cant compose a message on the gear
But who cares... all i need is to see the text message and if i choose so. Reply quickly to it
So i think its all good
I use GoSMS or Handcent from time to time. On the Gear S I just get the notification that a message came in then a button to open on device. I'd love to be able to reply using either app right from phone.

I use ChompSMS and can reply to a incoming text and even to Hangouts. I use this app Gear Notification Extender

I have been using the gear s for a week. I have a data only sim card wich lets me access the internet with my gear s not connected to my phone.
My problem is that i can not forward calls from my note 3 to my gear s. If we had a voip app for tizen I would forward all my calls to my gears s since I have an unlimited voice plan on my note 3.
Has anyone found such an app?

Google Voice works excellent. Hangouts is OK too
Is there any way to get Skype working so I can answer Skype calls ?

it only gives information about the missed call on my Gear S.

I can read and respond to hangout messages also call out and receive calls as well as missed calls. All Hangouts works for me on Gear S. I have a Note 4 if that matters

do you use an additional app on Gear S for that ?
I had installed Gear Notification Extender. But that only helps to read and answer text messages.

and which one enables you to answer and start Hangouts voice calls on Gear S ?
can you use Gear S microphone and speaker to talk on Hangouts ?

Im not sure which app allows it but yes I do use hangouts on my Gear S on Gear only microphone works ans speaker. Works like a regular phone call and text app. I granted permission for m Gear S on my Note 4 and everything works

I assume this was not real. (since no answers)
There is no Hangouts app on Gear S to make or receive Hangouts calls.

Gear S notification Extender and Notifications for gear S I use these I use the settings on my phone Note 4 so it automatically applies to my Gear S .

These 2 apps do not allow you to start voice or video call from Hangouts. They are notification apps and they only allow text messages through Hangouts.

I am able to talk and text from hangouts with my Gear S . Video call there is no camera on my Gear S so no that is not possible. I can call text and receive calls through hangouts on my Gear S. I call my contacts and dial numbers using hangouts as my app to make these calls. My Gear S does it if yours does not then maybe your doing something wrong

I am asking how you start a voice call (Hangouts) on Gear S ?
is there anyone else who says that it is possible to make voice hangouts on Gear S ?

If there is a way to do this, it'd be great. I just bought one and Google Voice/Hangouts handles all my communications
First off, lover my Gear S. Just awesome. There is one aching functionality missing for me though: is there any way to delete an email using the native app on the Gear and have it delete that email on the phone? I'm going with a workaround right now using Gear Notification Extender and that helps a lot, but I'd like to have a manageable inbox without scrolling though the messages as notifications, per se. Has anyone got this working using the native Gear email? Thanks in advance for the help.
+1 ..... delete notification implies double work to clear even the message, Android wear has both the "mark as read" and "delete" option
