There's a 30% off deal right now before the new year (30JOY). I just ordered mine. If anyone has the case let us know in this thread.
Looks like a quality case for how much it costs. I don't think any Nexus users have it yet so I'm in the same boat as you are

I had it for my iPhone and really enjoyed the case. Held up with my many drunk phone drops and the phone itself still looked like new. I would assume the case would still be awesome for the Nexus.
I just received mine in the mail about 10 minutes ago. And right off the bat I love this case. Feels great in the hand. All the ports are covered. Adds a little bulk to it but its pretty minimal. And most importantly it feels super sturdy. I finally feel at ease having this phone out of my pocket. This is my first Trident case but I'm pretty sure this thing could take a nice beating.

Just got mine too! I'll be posting pics in a bit.
Update: This case is very well made. The buttons are easy to press and also I love the feedback when you press on it. If you notice the back of the case has two ridges on it. This enables the phone to be used on a flat surface. So the phone doesn't wobble around while its laid down. Also it feels great in the hand. It feels a nudge thicker than my Ringke slim case. Overall, I'm very happy with this case. It doesn't add too much thickness. I can finally txt while the phone is flat on my desk. Button cut outs are perfect.
Is the rubber soft or more like a TPU? Does it attract a lot of lint? I don't like soft rubber than stretches out over time like he ballistic cases have.
Yes its soft rubber. The blue part is hard plastic. I have mostly kept my phone in my jacket pocket. No lint issues so far.

I read that it comes with a screen protector? Does the edges of the case life the protector off of the screen?

Yeah it comes with a screen protector, but I decided not to use it. I'm waiting for the jellycomb tempered glass to arrive.

I appreciate the reply I'm still deciding on what I want. If I get one it will be black and I'll post pictures.
I have a jelly comb tempered glass on mine with this case. Between the two I am almost getting full screen protection. It does go around the slight curve a bit but doesn't affect the tempered glass.

The rubber is pretty comparable to that of an otterbox. But I honestly think it feels more forgiving. The rubber really feels like it would absorb a drop very well. The rubber is a little thicker than that of an otterbox, but overall bulk on this thing really is minimal. I would definitely recommend it. Its easier for me to hold one handed now too. Rubber gives it some grip where its exposed.

In just don't like how the otter box rubber stretches out over time and is a lint magnet. Do you think this case would suffer from those issues?

It def could stretch. Mine hasn't yet or I would have returned it lol but I could see how maybe that could happen over time. But it does feel like it would be more resilient to stretching vs the rubber on an otterbox. And it is that same material that does suck up lint. But mine hasn't really yet. I don't keep it in my pocket much so that helps. But I have been surprised about the lack of lint on this thing. I have the back one. I will post pics later.

I'm not sure I understood what you say (not a native English speaker, nor do I have the Nexus 6 yet, though I will most probably order it very soon): does the Aegis stop where the Jelly Comb begins, or does it cover it a bit, or does it leave a gap between the case and the protector?
Could you please post a picture of what it looks like on your phone? Making my purchasing list (a phone without accessories is not enough, even such a big pricey one as the Nexus 6 ), and will definitely go for the Aegis. I still need to make my mind up on a screen protector: I've not already been through all the pages on the tempered glass thread, but the Jelly Comb is one of those coming back much there.
I tried to take pics, but my camera sucks and came out blurry. But there is a tiny space between the jelly comb tp and the case. I highly recommend this combo. Its a perfect fit.

Thanks for the quick answer. Great news to me if the Aegis and Jelly Comb almost fit flush. If I read you right, you'd almost have to look for the gap to notice there's a screen protector (save for the speakers and other cut-outs)?
If you cannot get your camera close enough to zoom right on the gap (minimum focusing length problem, I guess: it's why macro lenses are made, but if you're not into insects portraiting, use cases requiring just those are not that many ), maybe a wider field of view would be doable? I'm essentially after such a gap not being noticeable in normal use cases; not after nitpicking if it's just as wide as a few hairs
Here are the pics anyways. It's blurry as hell, but hopefully u can get an idea.

When you say the black barely there case, do you mean the normal plastic case (This one), or do you mean the AT&T specific brushed aluminum one in black (This one) the OP referred to? I'd like to know, even though Case-Mate might say otherwise, if all the ports, buttons, etc. are accessible in the normal plastic one.
Thanks

case seems fairly sturdy. the Incipio feather on my wifes atrix cracked on one corner (these are similar cases) but that was because of taking it on and off and its stiffer. On this case it seems easier to take off so I dont think it will crack as easily....unless maybe if you drop it alot or something.
Got my case!
I received my Barely There Aluminum today. Fit and finish is great as you can expect from a case that sells for $40! I really like the heft that this case adds to the phone. Without a case, I felt that the S2 was too thin and light. The feel of the plastic bumper is very nice. It feels satiny and "soft". To me, the plastic actually looks like powder coated metal. The aluminum back and chrome trim really makes this case look very classy. The camera opening has a little raised edge around it so when sitting on its back, the lens is protected. There is also a very small raised edge around the screen which will help protect the screen when placed faced down on a table, though dont expect major protection if the phone is dropped faced down and dragged across the floor. I only have 2 concerns: one is that the plastic on the sides does feel slick to the touch and two, the power button is a little hard to press. You really need to use the tip of your finger in order to press power.
This case may not be for everyone since it does leave the top and bottom exposed, but that is to be expected from a "barely there" case. Overall I am very pleased! So pleased in fact that I am thinking about getting the Case-Mate Pop or Tough for times when I need extra protection for the phone.
Umm...pictures?

Do you have any pictures?
Agreed. Pics would be fantastic, especially from a few angles. The ones on the Case-Mate website don't give enough for me to make a decision. Additionally, what parts are plastic? I figured an aluminum case would be.. well.. metal. Is only the back panel metal and the rest is plastic? If so I just don't think I can make myself spend $35-40 on it. :|
Another point of concern for me is that on their website, even though they say US AT&T version of the SGSII (which is the SGH-777 we all have) the pictures are of a GT-i9100. Am I correct in assuming that they're just posting a picture for a different phone but actually make a case for ours?
Question: Do the barely there cases.scratch up the sides? I had a similar case when I owned an iPhone and it scratched the sides where it clipped on to the phone.

Certainly not the only case that doesn't cover the top microphones, someone didn't use the SEARCH button... just thought I'd clear that up so people don't think there's only one case on the market that fits our phone, however hideous or GPS-blocking it may be.
I just wanted to share a great case with everyone. I had one for my 3D and loved it. They put me on a mailing list to be notified when they made one for the EVO 4G LTE and I finally got the email Wednesday. This morning I got the case and I love it! It covers buttons, has a great finish and feel, and is comparable (but slightly sturdier) that the TPU cases.

How would you say the texture is on it? I have small hands so a little bit of grit helps me hold onto the thing, but I don't like the super sticky feel that makes it impossible to get out of your pocket
I have a barely there feather one for my ns4g and like it but this looks much better with corner protection.
Hopefully they make a white one for us too.

So is this like a TPU case or is it between a TPU and hard plastic? It looks interesting but I wonder how much protection it really gives.

I think it would be perfect, it is not stickey/rubbery but it gives just a little added grip. It adds just enough bulk to feel solid without any real added weight. It slides in and out of pockets easily as it doesn't 't have many openings to catch on anything.

It's more like a stiffer TPU case. It's not as flimsly/rubbery as the TPU case, but basically the same form factor, weight, etc. with a little more sturdy feel. It's not going to give much more protection than a TPU case, but it will give a little more because it is more rigid. I think one of the main advantage over the Diztronic TPU cases is that it covers all the buttons and eliminates those flexible areas that make it hard to hit the buttons.
I have dropped my 3D in the 3D version of the case from 3 to 4 feet onto concrete numerous times and there were no scratches or visible damage to the phone. It also provides that slight lip around the screen so it doesn't touch if laid flat.
Have you noticed any issues with pressing the buttons? That seems like the main criticism about this case. I'm really liking this one, TPU seems too flimsy and I rarely ever drop my phone (I dropped my Epic maybe 3 times) so I don't need something bulky.
I dented my Evo today so I'm on the hunt lol.

I went back and forth for about 20 minutes between the black and translucent mercury, but ended up buying black. Something tells me if I like it I will end up with the other at some point haha. I love the Diztronic cases but like the buttons covered, so this sounds perfect. Will be a good change of pace from the Otterbox Commuter from time to time.

It was different coming from the open TPU so it took a little getting used to, but I like it much better. It's not hard once you use it for a day or so.
Just ordered the translucent mercury version. Coming from the the blue silicone case that Sprint sent out to the preorderee's. Getting a little tired of how much it sticks to the inside of my pocket, so hopefully this will be an improvement in that regard. Will let you guys know how it is once I receive it!
By the way, entering the promo code SUM2012 at checkout will save you $4.00 on the case. It's good until the 20th of August. Just sharing!

I just ordered one, but from what I've read it's similar to the diztronic tpu case but the material is a little thicker.
Mine shipped
Mine "partially shipped" this morning, I dunno what that means but okay. Maybe I'll get a the packaging but no case lol
is this case just a tpu material? Does the back protect the camera frame from getting scratched if put down on surface?
In case anyone cares they just released their Feather case. I literally just ordered the NGP yesterday and may order one of these as well. The blue looks nice as I've grown accustomed to the color of the Silicone Case Sprint sent to pre-orders.
http://www.incipio.com/HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-Cases/HTC-EVO-4G-LTE-Cases.asp
If anyone has the Diztronic TPU case, I would say these are almost identical in size. I really couldnt see any difference. It feels the same in hand, but covers the buttons, and is much more rigid.
Haven't seen anyone show pics of the Incipio Feather for our Evo LTE so thought I'd post a quick review. I have had the Diztronic case on my Evo since the first day I bought it. It is a great case and protects fairly well but I found myself taking the phone out and carrying it naked due to how good it looks without a case. So once I saw the feather was out for the Evo I had to get it.
The Incipio Feather is a little more expensive than the Diztronic, $20 vs $10 with a coupon but worth it in my opinion. It is a hard shell that snaps on but is just as thin if not thinner than the Diztronic. I figured the hard shell might also help in avoiding the phone bend that some have had. The Incipio has a very smooth matte finish which complements the Evo very well.
The Feather covers the entire back and the sides of the phone. There are cutouts for the volume buttons, camera button and charging port. One great advantage of the Incipio is that the power button is not covered so it is much easier to press than with the Diztronic. I've attached pictures that show all angles of the case. The bottom lip of the case extends past the bottom part of the phone and the top part of the cover extends to the same level as the phone. Lastly the sides do not extend past the screen but rather at the same level. That is if you place the phone screen down on a flat surface it doesn't elevate the screen. This is a downside but the phone looks so good I have no desire to take it off. Please let me know if anyone has any questions.. Thanks
Which ROM are you running? Is it bug free? Thanks for the review by the way.

Does the strip above the volume buttons feel flimsy at all? That was my biggest complaint with the Cruzerlite Androidify.

The strip by the volume buttons feels very sturdy and doesn't bend with moderate pressure. I don't want to press too hard and have it break but it is definitely not flimsy.

Both of these are very similar to the Spigen hard case I purchased and had at the ready before my LTEvo arrived in the mail.
(Not allowed to post links yet, as I'm new here, but it is Spigen's snap case for the Evo 4G LTE)
It is basically the smoothest case I've seen for any phone, and looks like the photo when mounted in real life. Unfortunately, the corner strip where the volume rocker is was a bit too fragile. My case broke at that spot less than 2 days of owning it, and I've since read reviews complaining about the same thing.
It's been mentioned that the Incipio feels pretty sturdy in that area, but I'm still wary of that, especially if these cases are made of polycarbonate like the one I purchased.
-Tom
I was rockin the sgp version as well. Loved it. But.
It's to fragile, it cracked when i was trying to take it off. Also, it isn't very grippy, and i always feel like it's going to slip out of your hand. Scratches pretty easily to. It's all rubbed where it rests on a table. From vibrating when it rings.
Ordered the incipio feather, and ngp. Will compare them with the spigen when they arrive tomorrow.
Where did you order the feather from? I can't find it on their website or Amazon. I jumped the gun on one last week and misread the item so I ended up with one for the OG Evo.
Hi,
I tried to use the LG g2 without the case for a day and found it quite uncomfortable to use. Mainly because of the phone get really warm, and the slippery back side is really annoying, leaving a dirty and oily feel.
However this phone with a nice case feel right at home. Unlike my previous phone which I hated the extra bulk. The extra thickness and insulation is more than welcome to me. =)

I love almost everything about the phone except how it feels in my hand. I think the size is perfect. It's just too slippery. Just ordered the Diztronic TPU case from Amazon. I'm hoping that it helps.
I like the quick window case. It adds almost no bulk but it takes getting used to having the flap. It doesn't close all the way when it's new so open and shut it a few hundred times and it works as intended
Sent from my VS980 4G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I am thinking that a 3m sticker for the back to change the slippery feel might be the right way to go or else take the back cover out and duracoat it.
I love how thin the phone is, and the look without case. If I could just find some way to use it naked.
-LG G2
Not using a case right now and loving it. I do agree on the back being very oily though with fingerprints galore
Of you could just order 1 of these. Was worth $20 to me, I like to go with no case but agree the back cover gets to oily. Bothers the heck out of me. The skin went on good with no bubbles.
I'd love to order one, what's the name or link? ;p

I am thinking that a 3m sticker for the back to change the slippery feel might be the right way to go or else take the back cover out and duracoat it.
I love how thin the phone is, and the look without case. If I could just find some way to use it naked.

Looks just like my old galaxy s2 with ghost armor skin. How do you find the grip with the carbon fiber skin? I found mine to be slippery
For those wanting a better grip without adding bulk, try Bestskinsever dot com
It's a screen and body protector film that adds nearly no bulk whatsoever.
It protects from scratches but only lasts for a few months at a time (6 months a the most in my case)
Cheers!
www.bodygaurdz.com. It is a little slippery, not too bad though. I used the Poetic slimline case that had the rubber grip and I really like that. In the end I am going to stick with this since it makes the phone a little less bulky.
I ordered a Poetic Palette case. It's very thin and high quality. You can find it under $15.

Today I received my Spigen Slim Armor w/Air Cushion Technology. Sorry, I wanted to post a link to the Amazon page so everyone could see what it looks like, but you will all have to Google/Amazon it
First impression is that it fits snug and has great cutouts. There is a full rubber cover and then a hard shell that wraps over the middle portion of the rubber cover. The hard shell is a bit slippery but overall it is a well put together case and leaves more than enough space for a tempered glass screen protector. The only unfortunate thing about this case is that there is a hole where the buttons on the back of the phone are, really wish there was a cover for the buttons as well but I have yet to see such a case, like the Otterbox cases for the LG G2.
Overall it is a good case and worth the price.
I purchased this case a the Verizon store when I got my phone, overal great case offeres good protection while keeping the phones slimness, just an fyi if you order the white one it has like a shimmery look, my wife says It looks like it's for a woman
I have this case too and I like it. FYI the white case is just as shimmery as the OEM white backplate. Hell, Spigen calls it "Shimmery White..." Oh and it's $9.99 right now.

Wrong case, buddy
This is the actual white one:

I, too have the case (in black), and I love it. I'm torn about the back, as i would like a bit more grip for when I put it on a smooth surface in the car so it won't slide around, but for my pocket, its awesome

Ohh that one. I actually have that one too...LOL. I couldn't decide so I got both. AND then I saw the post for the OEM LG Slim Guard case (http://www.expansys-usa.com/lg-slim-guard-case-for-lg-g3-white-262017/) and bought that too. So now I'm going to have 3 cases and 2 OEM Qi enabled cases....:silly:
I have the charcoal one and love it! Back isn't slick to me...unlike the protection and slimness
I have the Spigen Slim Armor in Metal Slate and I'm extremely happy with it. Low profile, lightweight, and the cutouts are spot on.
I bought the Incipio Dual Pro case at the store when I got my G3, and I consider the Spigen to be much better. While the Dual Pro does seem to protect the phone very well, the ridges along the side are so high and protrude so far onto the face of the phone that it makes it nearly impossible to swipe from the left to access the menu in most apps. Even though I have huge hands, I find it a challenge to hit the upper left part of the screen with my right thumb on the G3, so using the swipe from the left side is essential to me. It's not an issue with the Spigen Slim Armor, as it does not extend far enough onto the face of the phone to get in the way. :good:
Which one of the Spigen's do you like better?
I'm also rocking this case.. overall i'm happy with it. Very slim and fits snuggly.
Only downfalls are the back is a little slick. not a big deal. Theirs not covers over the buttons, on my g2 I had a balistics case that covered the buttons which was nice. The only thing that really bothers me about this case is where the ubs and headphone jacks plug in. the edges on the case are somewhat sharp. I hold my phone in a way that it rests on my pinky finger, and its irritating to say the least. Maybe its just me and my big hands..
Just picked up this case as well as I can't stand the built in screen protector on my Supacase Beetle Unicorn due to the dead spots. So going naked for the screen, but will have this case on it. My wife has one on her g2 and always liked how it felt.

I agree, Lil sharp on the pinky... Lol
How is the white color holding up. Every white case I have after a few weeks it turns brown or black. I cant stand it.
For the sharp edge on the pinky finger just get some 1000 grit sand paper and take the edge off. Helps a lot.

Oh, thank goodness it isn't just me! My pinky always finds the USB port hole, but I figure if it's anything like the Incipio case I had on my S4 it'll smooth itself out over time.

That works too.
I just picked up one from amazon and I like it. I had the Best Buy one but I change cases like I change my shorts. I'll probably buy another one in the next few weeks for a different look.

Mines pulls away too. Thought it just was the way it was due to the screen getting so close to the edge and the case not having much to hold on to.
Great Protection BUT
I purchased the Slim Armor case. Really like the look and the fit (stays in place and doesn't cover the screen). My only issue is the depth of the power and volume keys. With the case, they are recessed almost 1/8th of an inch. This makes it harder to use both.

I disagree about the recessed buttons. I find it makes it very easy to find the buttons and avoid touching the camera lens. Also, I have long skinny fingers and am able to use the device comfortably with one hand. This phone isn't for people with small hands...
