I am using LTE kindle fire hdx 14.3.2.6 and I was wondering if there is a way to fix the LTE of the devices after using HDXPOSE. I tried uninstalling every thing and factory resetting but no luck at all. Can it be fix with ADB by chance. Wifi works fine no problem. Also cant update it says update failed. when I tryed to up date through wifi. Even if there is not thanks for help any way. PS. I know it was entirely my fault. Oh I see the network AT&T pop up and full bars, but no internet access bin like this for a few months now as I had given up back then. Thanks any way if there isn't a way.

Oh I have tryed KFHDX+Toolkit+Source but no success.
In order to update, you have to enable updates through the HDX toolbox, and you will probably need to wipe it. There are directions around here (look in the general forum). Then, the update should go through. Do not forget to uninstall the exposed framework first. Good luck.
P.S. After you update, you will not be able to root again for a while.

So, I recently installed an ota patch from AT&T (apparently it was supposed to make the gps more accurate or something?). Since then I noticed that my battery started draining very quickly, so I entered 'top' in a terminal and found out there was a process called 'applypatch' taking up 50% of the cpu.I can't use 'killall applypatch' because it's a root process, and apparently the update also got rid of my root.
I've already tried a factory reset, but that didn't seem to help. Also, I doubt it's still installing the patch, because I left it on all of last night and it's still going at it. The bootloader is still locked, so If possible I'd like to avoid messing with that. This is my only GSM compatible phone, and I paid a lot for it.
Should I just try rooting it again and try killing the process, or do you guys have any other ideas?
Thanks!

You are not the only one with that problem. I have the exact same issue. Process chewing up the CPU and if you kill it the process comes right back. Hopefully someone has a good answer as to how to fix it. I actually have 2 of the phones and one is rooted, second one is not. The unrooted phone does not have the same issue as the rooted phone.
I'm having the same problem with my Atrix. Phone is stock and unrooted. Never had an issue until I installed the latest update.
Well I got a response back from Motorola about the issue. These were their recommendations.
1. Reboot phone. Duh....
2. Uninstall any apps that you installed when the problem started. Uh, it was the OTA update... Cannot be uninstalled I do not think.
3. Clear Cache partition from Fastboot menu. That did not do anything.
4. Factory reset the phone. I hate doing that. Doubt it fixes anything but I will do it anyway.
I asked them about option 5 if 1-4 did nothing and he said call and talk to support.
Just an update...
Maybe someone knows how to just kill the process. It is obviously doing nothing as the phone is already updated to 4.5.145 according to the phone info.
I've just had a quick look around about the 'apply patch' process. Not that it helps you but this problem has been ongoing since at least android 1.6!!! Unfortunately solutions to the problem were few and far between - the main one would be to roll back the update you received (if you can).
Rooting and then trying to find the process and freezing the 'apply patch' process is another (again, I didn't find much about how to do that) as is unlocking the bootloader and putting installing a custom rom is another option for you. I know you don't feel comfy unlocking your bootloader but it isn't as bad as it sounds.
If you do decide to go the unlocking way then there are guides on here which will help you.
Edit: just seen this over in the 'general' section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145316 ... the very same problem you are having.
Ok, just to hopefully keep this going I have tried these additional steps.
Root phone.
Unroot phone
Re-root phone
Try multiple startup program apps to kill it, none show anything besides installed apps.
None work. applypatch still taking 49% cpu
Maybe there is a way to edit androids startup config file to make it stop? Not a Linux/android guy so hopefully someone smarter than me has the answer to that.
If you've rooted the phone, you might as well have deleted or renamed that program... That's what I would do.
Same problem with my Atrix........I've been following this thread and have found a temp fix that works for me. I say temp as the applypatch process will show up again on reboot
1.) Gain Root Access
2.) Download OS Monitor from PlayStore (this will show you all processes running on Android OS)
3.) Run OS Monitor ...."applypatch" should be at the top of the list with a high Load % (Note: Under Settings enable ROOT mode)
4.) Long press on applypatch process and select kill process and allow superuser/root access...should terminate
This has been working for me so far so I signed up to share with you all.....hope it helps.
And heres to hoping for a more permanent:good: solution to this issue
Well, received my Sony Xperia Z Ultra C6833 a couple of days ago.
Received a notice on the OTA, upgraded to 14.1.B.2.257
I encountered random restart issues whenever Wifi is activated, so I thought, fine.
I finally have access to my computer, installed the PC companion, it prompt me with a new 14.2.A.0.290 update.
Again, I updated my phone, hoping it'll fix the Wifi problem.
After restarting, I did a test, as usual. Wifi problem persists, and what's worse, a new problem. Wifi and Playstation 3 SixAxis controller connected using bluetooth didn't play nice, caused my phone to reboot.
I know a lot of people downgraded the firmware back to the previous version, with NAN backups etc.
And some even managed to restore their IMEI back to normal.
But for my case, I haven't root my phone, attempt to downgrade it using Flashtool, lost my IMEI.
Seems that I have no choice, but to return it back to 14.2.A.0.290 praying that it works, and I still can't see my IMEI.
No, I don't have a NAN backup. That's the part which gave me a headache. I've messed around with HTC one X (a year ago), never had this problem problem before, and it's something new I've learnt from you guys today.
Tried cyangenmod's boot.img, doesn't do me any good.
Anyone managed to recover their IMEI here?
Otherwise I might have to get it back to the dealer for a replacement.
Update: Thanks to krabappel2548's guide, I've managed to flash it to 14.2.A.0.290 again and got my IMEI back, but SixAxis still won't play nice with Wifi, and the problem with random reboots while Wifi is ON still persists.
we have the same issue, mine happened during the old update, after ota wifi gets stuck, wont turn on and reboots the device. upto now its still not fixed. 3 updates have passed and still the issue persist. hope you find a fix it will help me too. tried everything from downgrading, flashing custom rom, kernel, upgrade, unlock, relock but still cant fix it
I guess i'm not the only one then. I can live with the wifi issue for the time being as long as i stick to using data. But i fear it's going to affect tethering should i need that.

Read it the moment I discovered that my IMEI is missing.
I tried reflashing excluding the baseband, doesn't work for me, right after i realized i have a missing IMEI.
Read up on the android emulator, but haven't tried it, as my computer is kinda old, took forever to run it. Will try it once I get my hands on a faster computer
Bah. Crashed when I tried to use my qx100 which i've just received. Haha. Anyone else has any fun with qx100 and z ultra combo? The Z ultra almost reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.
Meanwhile, I can't wait for kit Kat, and hope they really squash these bugs
The best thing would be to contact Sony and make them aware of this bug. Losing your IMEI by simply updating should never happen and it's quite a serious bug.
Actually i lost it after downgrading. Downgrade is simply because of phone keeps rebooting after I turn Wifi on.

I certainly hope so too.
Hope it fixes the rebooting issue with WiFi enabled.
Or the Google Play Edition port if it does fix the problem too
Anyone tested the new update yet? Does it fix the wifi issues with crashing/rebooting?
ok so i purchased my phone on amazon and got it somewhere around feb 25th, i got a message on the phone to update software so naturally i did, then i discovered what rooting does and i decided to follow some youtube instructions to flash my phone to an earlier firmware the link wasnt working so i found another which was C6802_14.1.B.0.475_GENERIC Hong Kong.ftf after flashing this i lost my imei its all zeros and i then tried flashing C6802_14.1.B.1.526_M3dD0g.ftf with no luck so im trying to find out what the updated software was that i must have downloaded when i first got the phone given the date i had recieved it im thinking that the 14.2.A.1.142 is the correct one that i must have updated to, i was running version 4.3 jelly bean before all this happened i also have this problem where everytime i turn off the phone and turn it back on it is in the chinese writing again and asks me to select my language again anyone know what to do short of return the phone while i still got time my internet is extremely slow im tired of it taking 4 hours to load a new ftf just to find out its not the right one ive heard some where hving success with the 290 getting their imei back but im thinking thats the software they started with or updated to to get it back so i have no idea which one i started with or which one i updated to all i know is the date i got it and that possibly its the 14.2.A.1.142 looks really familiar im downloading that one now so we will see what happens and i also read something about flashing excluding the basebands so if that is part of it please make it as clear as possible im obviously a noob but im learning quick
Pleas dont ask the same question in multiple threads.

Good day,
I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9305 LTE and I have been using this device without problems for around 2 years now. It runs on Jellybean 4.3 baseband version i9305zhucnb1. It has been running on this firmware for a couple months now ever since it has been rolled out. The problem is, the WIFI suddenly stopped working. Never had this problem before and I actually never had any problems with this device ever. Whenever I turn on WIFI, it detects my home networks and other networks wherever I go but whenever I try to connect, it just shows saved secured, and sometimes authentication error after a couple of attempts. I have other WIFI devices at home and all are working perfectly. I tried forgetting the networks and I am positive that the WIFI password is correct. I tried to restore the device to facroty settings hoping that it would work. I tried accessing my router and I'm sure my device isn;t blocked. I even configured my routers to only accept the mac address of my device and block all others but still wouldn't connect. I tried rooting my device via odin but my device blocks root access and shows the error message "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization. this attempt has been blocked.". I tried rooting it to try flashing custom roms. I also tried dialling *#0011# to configure my wifi but it still does not work. I don't think that the problem is my firmware because I had it for months and it didn't update before the issue occured. I was also about to try downgrading it to an ICS stock rom since I can't root it to try custom ROMs. I've been trying to fix this for days now. Can you guys give me a step by step instruction on how to fix this if it is at all possible? And maybe give me a link where I can download ICS or lower stock ROM's for this device. I think I have to use a TGY firmware, though I don't have an idea what it means. Thanks!
Wifi module
Maybe you've dropped your phone and the WIFI module loosened, and it can't work correctl?

Maybe it's time for factory reset? I know that's the easy solution and most complicated but you should do it from time to time.

i decided to have it checked by a local technician and according to them, this was still a software issue. i dont know what to do anymore. they insisted that i should just keep flashing stock roms to fix these. already tried flashing the 4.3 tgy jellybean stock rom so i was thinking of flashing other version stocks. can anyone give e a good link where i can download tgy stock roms 4.1.2 or even ICS stock roms. I also am having problems with rooting the device. it gives me error message "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization. this attempt has been blocked." after flashing autoroot in odin. my knox is not installed. thanks.

dont know
the first time i brought this to them is when i attempted to flash an incompatible firmware. they also did not fix it. they said they dont have any available stock rom for i9305 and told me to download and flash one. mayba im just gonna have to look for a different technician when i have free time. so for the mean time, im trying to look for other fixes. btw, i tried downloading a tgy 4.1.2 stock rom and it does not flash successfully. for now i'm thinking of rooting and flashing custom roms. but whenever i flash auto root. it gives me the error message "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization. this attempt has been blocked.". i tried updating supersu still the same thing. i manually installed root checker and says it does not have root access and it shows the said error message again. what should i do with that? Thanks
I have a kindle fire HDX 8.9 and all i did was install HDXpose frame work and Google play and now cant connect Wifi works fine. It says AT&T 4G LTE at top of screen, in the status bar, but cant connect to the internet with 4G just wifi. Yes I know it is my fault I am fully aware of that. I have even tried updating and rooting it again a no luck. Once again I know it is my fault and don't expect people to help me at all. I knew there would be risk involve, but I am asking is there any way to fix it through ADB or any other way if not, I understand, but thanks any way.
P.S. I Updated to 14.3.2.6 and I am still able to get root.

In trying to get text messaging working on my KFHDX8.9 with the "help" of ATT technical support, we completely killed my ability to connect via 4G LTE. I gave up on technical support & recovered everything myself by uninstalling everything Google & uninstalling HDXpose, & finally removing root, then doing a factory reset & data wipe. All was restored successfully after that . . .
Be very careful to make sure you have removed everything BEFORE you do the factory reset as others have reported bricking their devices !!
Good luck & have fun !!

I would highly suggest starting over and installing CyanogenMod 11. It's a confusing process but eventually you'll get it.
Start with this video. I'm assuming you're on 4.1.2., as that's what caused my RAZR to slow down too. So don't use the tools he has in the video. Use these tools instead, but make sure that you follow the YouTube instructions and get the USB connection added properly. This method successfully preps the phone for later steps.
Then use these instructions to get the phone rooted and prepped for installation.
Razr's Edge is used to root the phone. Make sure to check if the phone is recognized by Windows by using adb devices and seeing if the phone is connected.
Razr's Edge may say it didn't install properly, like it did for me, but in my case it had successfully placed the files on the phone's internal storage.
Finally, follow the instructions to install safestrap recovery and CyanogenMod.
Let me know if I can help. I have been trying for the past couple years to get the XT910 rooted and install CM11 and I finally got it.

Hi thank you
mine is actually 4.0.4 rooted version, with eunonefigretail, there was no upgrade possible for me after that version, i tried to put im version 4.1.2 but on that one i was never able to get any wifi or 3g and there was more problems so i got back to 4.0.4
I will definitely try this
