Hi, xda
I have some problem with Greenify.I have installed greenify xposed module but feature "Keep Notifications" doesn't work for me.When i greenify Whatsapp or Messenger, i don't get notifications from these apps,..
After an app is in deep sleep it cannot send any notifications. The keep notification function just keeps a notification of an app even if it will be set to deep sleep

Whatsapp and Facebook have their own way of doing things. They don't use the normal Android methods. And every update changes something, becoming more uncontrollable. So you will be better off not hibernating these two and using only the settings within these apps.
My case is different. I don't use either of them.

Can both of you give the setup like whether rooted, using Supersu or other superuser, Xposed installed or not, mode in which Greenify is setup etc?
If you are talking for the toast message, no you can't.

I get the notification only when I unlock the screen. A single notification will list the apps greenified during the autohibernation process. No notifications while the screen remains on.
You just open the phone when the greenify make its magic. It takes about 2-3 mins to auto hibernate the app. You can hibernate them using the widget, action on an icon if you don't like widgets, or with the button that you have for Google search, you can change it to when you long press it will lock the phone and hibernate the apps the same time.

Hi, I am running Greenify and long story short, it will refuse to auto hibernate the Facebook app no matter what. Yes, root is enabled, yes, other app auto hibernates fine, and yes, manually hibernating Facebook does work. But if I leave it alone to auto hibernate then it will not do so. Any ideas? This problem is driving me insane because Facebook is super battery consuming without Greenify Thanks!
OK so after some investigation using SuperSU I realized it's not Greenify that failed to kill those apps, but it's that they turned themselves back on! The apps in question here are Facebook and FB Messenger. How can I deal with this? Please help me, it's driving me nuts being unable to find out why.
Some other apps might waking them up. Choose the option from experimental features "wakeup tracker & cut off" and when you select Facebook or messenger app a scissors will come up at action bar. From there you can stop the apps that wakes fb and messenger. If the scissors won't come up, wait for a few hours, it might need some time to collect info.

If you are using Android Marshmallow, then go settings -> Apps -> click on gear icon on top right -> draw over other apps -> change config for facebook and messenger to yes...or any other apps you want.
there...you are done.
Now greenify can auto hibernate .

I just updated LG G3 to Android 6 last night. This is just the info I was looking for. The instructions were not quite as you described. However FB and messenger were both No, so changed to Yes.

Hello, I was having the same issues with fb and messenger so I finally uninstalled them and started using the mobile browser version of fb. It lacks some features so I would prefer the app. How well would "change config for facebook and messenger to yes...or any other apps you want." work for saving battery if hibernated vs. just using the mobile browser versions?
Also, although this helps to make them hibernate as needed, won't they still wake up on their own?

How does allowing Facebook and Messenger to draw over other apps allow them to be hibernated?
Just looking for clarification. On 6.0.1 with Xposed
i cant get facebook app auto hibernated and it keep itself wakeing up
When getting one of my apps after rooting, pebble time, it said it required notification access. When trying to enable this it took me to the sound & notification settings; after looking around I couldn't find any way to allow it to read my notifications (not accessibility settings). Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance - mymindstorm
(I tried to put in screenshots, but my ranking is too low, sry)
Did you go to the app In Settings>manage all apps? There's a box under Force Stop to "Show Notifications." If you did that and it didn't have the notifications option, there's an Xposed module called AppOpsXposed that should let you turn on notifications.

I probably didn't word that right, I need the app to read the notifications. Normally there would be a section in settings for this, but it is removed.
Hey guys. I used to use aggressive doze, but it seemed like I was having a problem getting alarm/timer notifications. To make sure I don't miss important notifications are there other services I need to be sure to whitelist besides the clock app, phone app, etc.?

Normally you don't have to whitelist anything except those apps from which you need notifications. Google Play Services which is required for notifications, is already whitelisted.
Apps which are made compatible to MM's Doze function need not specifically be whitelisted. So even the phone app and clock app need not be whitelisted if they are Google's. Only third party apps which have not been made compatible (from which you need notifications) need to be whitelisted.
I've noticed that if you navigate with the screen off, whatever app you are using to navigate will get Dozed until you wake the device, so I'd whitelist whatever navigation app you use if you navigate with your screen off. Otherwise, as tnsmani said, I haven't found a good reason to whitelist any other apps.

Yes, the whitelist option isn't working properly. It doesn't matter which 3rd party app you are trying to be in a whitelist, it won't show any notification until you turn your screen ON.

Hi,
I have a rooted and xposed module enabled s6 with greenify on it.
I greenified nearly every social media app, even that I won't get notifications from it (force hibernation in xposed settings of greenify enabled)
Since today in morning, Greenify wakes up nearly every app when I get a notification.
I didn't change any setting, it was suddenly this issue.
How can I solve that I not getting notifications and the apps won't wake up?
