[Q] Bluetimes 3584F MBOX - How to ROOT ? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I've tried many things and also searched already on the net about this Bluetimes model but I didn't find nothing explain how it could be rooted. I sent a email to manufacturer about this issue but no answer. I only received of manufacturer the explanation how to restore the original firmware.
I tried some apps like...
- Framaroot
- Towelroot 3
- RomasterSu
... but nothing worked.
I tried too a version ROOT of Matricom Midnight G-BOX MX2 v1.1.5 on page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45502307&postcount=12 but nothing.
Below is some informations about the Bluetimes 3584F and the link to download the original firmaware given by the Shenzhen Blue times Technology Co., Ltd.

UPGRADING GUIDE:
1. Unzip the downloaded firmware file, you will get 4 files named "g18ref-ota-XXXX.zip", "factory_update_param.aml", "u-boot.bin" and "recovery.img"
2. Copy the 4 files to the root directory of your SD card
3. Take off the power adapter from your media player and insert SD card to the card reader slot.
4. Press and hold the reset hole on the back of the media player(beside the power socket), then connect power adapter to this item, still holding the reset hole
5. When you see the upgrading process bar showed on your TV screen, you can release the reset hole
After firmware updating finished, TV box will reboot automatically.
I am needing move the apps to SD CARD because the internal memory is almost full but I can do that only if it is rooted.
I appreciate any help.

Someone to help me with this issue?
How can I do myself the "root" ? What are the files I have to edit and what I have to change on the files?

Here's topic you need - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146226
Download utoo-root-signed.zip and flash it as firmware. Just put that one file on root of your sdcard and boot your device in recovery mode (step 4 of upgrading guide you mentioned) and navigate trough menu to flash it. I did not try it myself, but I checked zip file, it should work for amlost all Amlogic MX devices.

Thank you very much, stane1983.
I will do the procedure and after I will post the result.
The newbies, like me, need someone to show the way of the stones.

Got it, finally!!
I will explain to help other users that have the same Blutimes 3584F model:
1- Download the utoo-root-signed.zip file on page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146226 and move it to SD card.
2- Donwload the firmware_Bluetimes_3584F.zip file on the first post, unzip it and move the files quoted below to SD card:
- factory_update_param.aml
- u-boot.bin
- recovery.img
3- Rename the utoo-root-signed.zip inside of SD card to g18ref-ota-20131220.zip
4- Do the steps 3, 4 and 5 of the "UPGRADING GUIDE" on first post.
P.S.: Even with the phone rooted I needed create a 2nd partition EXT4 on SD card to move the apps to it by Link2SD app.
Thank you very much to stane1983.

[ROM]Android 2.2.2 S7v100R001C98B021

Thanks to our friends in Indonesia, we have the updated 2.2.2 Rom --> odienas and tri_zet
This update has been confirmed to work with:
S7-103, Indonesian version with dual cameras internal/external sdcard
S7-104, US BestBuy/RadioShack version with dual cameras and internal/external sdcard
S7-105, Australian version with dual cameras and external sdcard
Partially working:
S7-101, Austria Mobilkom version - loses camera, GPS?
S7-103, New Zealand - loses GPS?

MD5 checksum for updata.app : 74D031FD717D8BF68956EF3F044C8EEB
Update install process:
1. unrar the file, and copy the 'dload' folder to the root directory of a sufficiently large external SDcard formatted to FAT/FAT32 (readable by the S7)
2. turn off the unit, and ensure that you are either plugged in with a battery inside the unit, or that you have enough charge left in your battery
3. turn on, and a progress bar will appear in the middle of the screen. Wait until "OK" is displayed on the screen.
4. turn off the unit by removing the battery and any powerplugs to the S7
5. repeat steps 2,3,4 again. otherwise it will hang at boot screen (instructed by Huawei)
6. Remove the SD card and start the device. If you wish the use the card for the device, remove the firmware files from the SD card before reinserting it.
If the update fails to install, check that your file was properly moved into the SDcard by comparing the MD5 checksum.
The overall process should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

what's new?
Any idea if this will work with the Telstra T-Touch Tab (Australia)? I'm told on other threads it's identical to the Ideos S7 except without any memorycard soldered onto the board. - and it seems possibly this only has agps too.
What is the latest available offical firmware? Im using S7 bought from Orange PL and mine ver is S7v100R001C98B022-is this the newest one?
Which do you think is the best out of your own experience?

do you trust it?
it has a rooting file i want to download.. for my wayteq xpad 70 but do not if i should...
and i do not even know the step by step guide of rooting the tablet.. could you help ?
I don't trust sites I can't read. So it's either Greek or English (and I don't completely trust translators).
If I knew how to do it, I wouldn't have posted this question!
I've rooted my xpad-70 using z4 root. I selected permanent root and it worked fine. Think i got z4 root from the market.
The only issue i have is i can't get voice search working and i don't know how to make a first module but i can easily live without both. The tablet is excellent.
It's not root that is the problem. Indeed Z4root fixes this problem. It's that many functions of the Android OS are locked by wayteq, for reasons i keep not understanding...This is common practice for many manufacturers. I suppose it gives them more control of their product. Say in order to make aftermarket products later on, at their leisure!!!
Also the device can very easily have v2.3.5 which is much better. So why shouldn't I be able to have a fully unlocked OS and the latest at that?
Don't know if this is any good. It's for our processor.

I've found a working cifs.ko module. Its in this thread. You don't need the one it mentions later the one in the thread is fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144808
Just unzip then use root explorer to create system/lib/modules/ folder then copy cifs.ko into it. You can use cifs manager to access windows shares.

The cifs module works for copying files and streams video fine but when I try to stream an mp3 it crashes out.

Today I saw that Wayteq (Europe) Posted the long awaited update. 2.3.4 gingerbread from the support page with instructions. They also state that the CPU will now run at it's 1Ghz Full Capacity. Good news.. All that remains now for me is to root it again!
Excellent news and well spotted. Have you tried it yet. Is it any good.
Sent from my xPAD-70 using Tapatalk
It's good but i Can't root it yet. Z4root and gingerbreak don work as far as I can tell...
I hope now that we have an official ROM from wayteq, someone will start working on a modded version!!!
I'd like to have full admin rights for my device!
Nice one. Is there an option in recovery to back the existing software up. I can do nandroid backups on my desire so it's a bit safer.

[Q] Coby Kyros Mid1125-4G stock ROM

Hello. I've been looking everywhere and I could not find a STOCK ROM for my Coby Kyros MID1125-4G. It happens that I installed ICS from Coby germany, but that slowed the tablet and has many problems with the WIFI, then updated via OTA to JellyBean and the thing was worse. Now I want to return to Gingerbread, but I don't have the stock image. Any of you have a STOCK ROM for this device? I will be very grateful for your help.

I think I've done pretty much the same as you....my tablet doesn't seem too bad...a bit glitchy maybe but I have no access to the APN settings meaning I can't use 3g. I'm hunting for answers as well.....if you find out anything before me let me know (and vice versa) :fingers-crossed:
I am glad im not the only one been trying to work out how to get the 4g sim card bit working again for the past few months since I did the update to ICS, was hoping the the update to Jellybean would fix it, tho I have a thought about the update if it helps that is when it downloads the update from the coby site it is downloading for the standard 1125 and not the 1125-4g model.
If i find out a solution or any more will let you know.

12 - click on NAND Data from the block on the right and create file NAND Data.fai
13 - click on start
14 - wait while coby is updated
15 - when the screen says download complete (turns green) disconnect the usb cable

Thx for all the great info so far. It allowed me to make my bricked
tablet work again however it seems that I also have problem of the
"Damaged Nand". this message is preventing me from installing CWM after the recovery and
also upgrading to the latest ICS update provided by Coby.
Do you have any idea how to fix this ?? :crying:

From what I have read at various places you need to reformat the NAND (internal sd storage) and scan it for errors, this is a know fault as nands like hard drives can have bad sectors, which they write out when originally getting them ready for sale.
Most people recommend hxxp://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/index.html SD Formatter v3 to format it, obviously the coby has to be plugged into your computer to format it.
One note if you have the 3g version of the 1125 with the sim card slot using the coby germany upgrade to ics (or now updated to jellybean) using the updater on their site you wont be able to use the internal 3g sim card slot, this is a known problem to them and they are working on it.
If you need any more help just ask

Hmm I have dowloaded the SD Formatter 3.1 but it only formates the NAND memory ( flash erase is not suported ) i dont know how to scan for errors, also in FWDN it shows me that the NAND data is:
NAND DATA
( 3235840KB )
Is this ok ?
Also I want to let you know that the original coby germany upgrade to ics I can use the internal 3g sim card slot
I have now the update to ICS but now I dont know how to root and put the market on it, to bad
Did you guys have any luck trying to get APN settings working on your tablet, i mean with the 4.1.1. on?
sorry for my bad english
Is these instructions and the ROM for the 1125 without 3g usable?
If not, is there a tutorial for it and a stock ROM?
To explain:
I must have deleted important files in memory and can't run it any longer. it can not be started.
It is rooted. I would now like to re-flash.
How to get the 1125 in the CWM?
Yes, you can use it. I have also used it to come back to GB.

Hi ! I also have the same problem on my MID1125 (without 3G)
...> Damaged NAND.
I forgot to make Step 12 :
12 - click on NAND Data from the block on the right and create file NAND Data.fai
As i read on the internet, the Data.fai File contains the Parition Layout for the NAND Flash. Can someone can make a Data.fai File from his MID1125 Tablet ?
If you do the downgrade steps until step 12, the tablet will not be flashed !
Thank you...
Please, help me. Kyros MID1126.

After following the instructions I had an error and it would not boot.. so I did the same again but changed from "default download" to "Low format whole memory before download" (this does remove all your data as the warning states) then followed steps 3 to 13 again you need to do the NAND data.fai again so that it works and I have the stock ROM just added

Hello,
I used instrucjion to downgrade android to v.2.3.3. It worked, but after downgrade I can't turn on 3G.
I have 3G option, but when I click on 3G i see all the time "Turning on..." I don't see 3G enable or something else. 3G nor working.
During flashing to android v2.3.3 I have inserted SIM card to tablet :/ Reset to default do not work :/

After hours of seraching on the net I now have my kyros 1125-3g back to 2.3.3 and with 3g support
I have uploaded the files needed to hxxp://kaosmad.com/android/mid1125/1125-3g.zip
There is a pdf file with instructions in the zip file but basically this is what you need to do,

2 - install the drivers from the drivers folder (depending on your operating system)
3 - start the program FWDN_V7_v2.13

5 - click on files types and change it to all files
6 - select lk.rom and MTD.img and click on open
7 - click on add files
8 - turn on coby by pushing the on button whilst holding the volume up button for at least 8 seconds, till the coby screen says plug in usb cable
9 - plub in usb cable
10 - wait for windows to finish detecting / installing drivers
11 - the FWDN software should now see the coby and show the memory allocation layout on the right side of the software.
12 - click on NAND Data from the block on the right and create file NAND Data.fai
13 - click on start
14 - wait while coby is updated
15 - when the screen says download complete (turns green) disconnect the usb cable
16 - reset the coby using the reset whole on the side with a paperclip or something else that fits in the whole.

• Backup all your files on memory card.
• Go into the Recovery Mode ( as above , fastboot boot recovery.img ) ( Your operating system will be fine )
• Make a nandroid backup at this time
• Select “Advanced”, and then choose “Partition SD Card”.
• Then Choose your size ( if you have a 2GB Memory Card, choose 512 MB, and if you have a 4 GB Memory card, you can choose 1024 MB, ext ).
• Select 0 Swap.
• Wait for the process to finish, and then select Reboot
You’ve just made a partition on your memory card, and its ready to use.
Now follow the steps below for Link2SD
• Open Link2SD. You will be prompted to choose between ext2,ext3,ext4 and FAT32.
• Choose ext2
• Select OK ,
• It will then say, “Mount Script Created”.
• Now you Reboot your Tablet
• Open Link2SD again, if any message does not appear ,it means you succeeded.
• Go to Link2SD > Setting( far right top icon ) scroll down > Check the autolink. (to automatically move apps upon installation).
If you already have some apps listed , select “create link” ( be sure to check the files: app, dalvic-cache, and library files).
Move to SD option only moves app to SD it does not link them
Now to check the memory, select “Storage Info” . this will be showing you up the current status of your internal memory.
You should see as below SD Card 2nd Part
To move a system App you can long press App , it will pull up menu , select convert to user App let it do its thing
Select App again and it will open option to create link as installed user apps do
So far I have moved Calculator , VPN , Music FX , ES File Explorer and Sound Recorder with no issue
Use Link2Sd and (long press) on SystemUpdate.apk ( /system/app/SystemUpdate.apk ) and freeze app.
This will stop System Update from happening at random moments or on reboot
There is no Update to install though the System thinks so (without freezing it will continue to show updates available)

Modify Allwinner OS

I have an android car head unit with Allwinner T3.
I asked from the seller the OS files to update my unit because I was experiencing some issues. I received these two files
os_update_YMHC0101-N39-2.3.4.3.12_20180601_152348.zip
YMHC0101-N39-2.3.4.3.12_20180601_152348.img
I used the second file with PhonixCard to create a sd card and update my unit.
The update was successful and my unit information in About Device menu are:
Android version: 7.1.1
Hardware Information: Quad Core AllWinner
Kernel Version: Linux 3.10.65
OS Version: BSP 2.3.4.2.12 - IVT - 180601
MCU Version: 20180426-1-KC1-18
I want to install an app called VocalizerEx. The default TTS engine in my head unit is PicoTTS. I installed VocalizerEx and selected in settings but it's not activated. If I exit the menu and reenter I see that PicoTTS is the activated engine. I think that PicoTTS gets selected as the default TTS engine because it has been installed as a system app. I could convert VocalizerEx to system app if the head unit was rooted but I couldn't find any information to root my unit.
Since I have the above .zip and .img files I was wondering if there is a way to edit them and create a custom update file with VocalizerEx installed as a system app. If it's possible to edit these files I would like to change the boot animation as well.
I explore my head unit file structure and I see that it has the same file structure with the .zip file I have. Could I use this .zip to create the .img update file or just unpack and repack the .img?
I tried DragonFace but I got an error.
How could I edit this .img file? What tools do I need? (I could work on Windows/Linux/Mac OS X.)
Is it safe to unpack and repack the .img? Could a corrupted .img file brick my device?
Hey,
I have an Android Allwinner T3 device and I have problems with it.
I received operating system files from the vendor to update my unit. I received these three files:
- YMHC0101-N39-2.3.4.3.12_20180601_152348.img
- phonixcard.exe
- mcu-201804260001KC1-1522.img
Unfortunately, I have no instructions on how to do it. Could you write me one by one how to make an update?

What problems do you have?
To update the OS:
1. Insert a formatted microSD card in an external microsd reader (computer's internal reader never worked for me)
2. Run phonicard as administrator. Select the .img file (YMHC0101-N39-2.3.4.3.12_20180601_152348.img), select the letter of your microSD, select "product" and hit "Run". After a few minutes you should see a green status bar or a message "Magic Complete/Burn End..." depending on Phonixcard version.
3. Turn off your headunit, remove all usb and sd cards from it, insert your new card in the GPS slot and turn it on. You should see a green bar loading. It takes about 1-2'. When it shows "CARD OK" on screen turn it off and remove the microSD.
4. Turn it on again and it should start booting. The first boot will take longer, 3-5'.
To update the MCU:
You should use another empty and formated microSD card. If you want to use the same, you should format it but also you should delete the hidden partition Phonixcard has created. Open Phonixcard with microSD connected and select "Format to Normal".
1. Copy mcu-201804260001KC1-1522.img in microSD card (copy the file in card, don't use Phonixcard to burn it).
2. Turn on you headunit and allow it to start. Remove all usb and sd cards and insert your microSD (with only mcu update in it).
3. Wait a few seconds and it should open a screen showing you that it found a MCU update. Select it and it should guide you through the process. Don't turn it off. Allow it to finish and reboot.

For me, there is a problem, that after selecting a home page, applications cyclically appear every 1 second and disappear. You can not start any application.

Should I do it on my computer or Android Allwinner T3?
Yes, phonixcard is a computer program
Hello,
I have a problem with running the PhoenixCard application. I copied the applications onto the computer and opened it. I ran the PhoenixCard.exe file as an administrator. The user account control window appears: "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" I pressed the YES button, but the window disappears and nothing happens.
Please, tell me what to do.
Regards Robert
Write still what you used the phoenixcard version?
Where can I download firmware updates? I can't find vendor website.
You must write to the seller.
I've bought on Amazon... i'm sure that seller will not reply
Try it, I bought it on Aliexpress and the seller is replying to my messages.
