Is there possibility to port GingerBread 2.3.5 to any 4.x android? To be exact i want to port it to CM 11.0. I have unique phone, and i cant find any new ROM for this, but i've found some to the other device so i want to port it. If theres any guide for that please link me

I have a few questions regarding ROM porting
1)If my phone has android 4.4.2 stock rom and i want to port android 5.1.1 for it...is it possible,beacause i have heard that is not possible to port a lower version to a higher version or viceversa
2)if i have a working CM based rom (version 5.1.1) can i port a 6.0 version of android based from that rom?
It is first time when i try to port roms so i am just curious

If you still don't get what I am trying to ask:
Suppose there are two very similar devices one has jellybean for it and the other does not so how do I port that ROM to the other device without a base ROM. AND IF I CAN'T. Then please tell how to build ROM from source to a UNSUPPORTED device.
