[Q] Korean S2 and custom ROMs - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
Is it possible to use custom roms on korean versions of S2, which my sister happen to have - if yes, how can I do it (had customized sgs, now Nexus5 so I'm not new, just need to be sure I can do no harm to this little guy since it's from korea)? I was looking all over the place and found only tutorial on how to make International version out of korean one ( http://androidhelpsl.blogspot.com/2014/02/how-to-convert-your-samsung-galaxy-s2.html ), so my question stood still.
Thanks a lot for helping me!

Hi,
I own a G version as well. Currently there are no CM ROMs available for the device. In terms of custom ROMs as far as I am aware there are three available -
SuperROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374135&highlight=i9100G)
Juffo ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1341288) and
DARK ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1496938)
I rooted using superoneclick after flashing the superatmos kernel. I have used SuperROM and will be trying DARK ROM soon.
Hope this info helps.
Unless the people who own I9100G's all chip in to buy one & donate it to the CM team, not likely.
If you use any firmware for the I9100/T on the I9100G you'll soft brick it at best, and it will be a return to Samsung job at worst.
At the moment I would recommend to return your GT-I9100LKGDBT
and get an GT-I9100LKADBT (model with exynos cpu) from jacob-elektronik.
!!!UPDATE!!!
I ordered a GT-I9100LKADBT and they send me a I9100G. So it seems nearly impossible to get a new i9100 in Germany.

[Q] Help Porting Paranoid Android to SC-03E

So here's the deal, i have a Japanese S3 aka S3alpha aka SC-03E. The difference of this phone and all the other S3 out there is that this one has the same specs at the Note 2; 2gb ram, Exynos 4412 Quad [email protected], and LTE (similar to the I9305 but not). The only ROM out there for this phone is Cm10.1, i;m pretty happy with it but not as happy as i would be if i had Paranoid Android. NOw, i'm a noob and all, but i've been trying to port the latest PA ROM from a I9305 using this guide right
here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008
It seems fairly easy, so i gave it a try using the CM10.1 rom as base. however, i'm stuck at a bootloop and i don't even know where to begin. so i have some questions, pardon my noob terminology,;
would i be better off trying to port a note 2 ROM? (since it has the same hardware, except s-pen and huge screen)
i read in some forums that it is best to use a ROM which the device contains the same cpu as yours,
i've never actually tried it but what would happen if i just went ahead and flashed a i9305 ROM?
is it better to use CM10.1 or my stock ROM as base ROM?
any help would be appreciated, the only support for my phone is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172063
I got it figured out, if anyone needs help head over to the [OFFICIAL] Japanese SGS III (SC-03E) Rooting, ROMs, Kernels & Guides thread

[Q] Custom ROM for i9305

Hi all,
Hope everyone is okay. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE and have just entered into the world of custom ROMS and flashing etc. I downloaded the CM11 ROM and really enjoyed the features but wondered if it was the 'best'? I know each offer different things but just wondered if there was a generally accepted ROM that is considered the top?
Ideally with 4.4 and if there was an ability to move to SD too that would be a bonus. No idea why this feature was disabled for ROMs later than 4.3
Thanks in advance everyone, and apologies for the ignorance with this stuff

[Q] Galaxy S3 ROMs (i need advice)

Hello everyone.
I have an international version of S3 (I9300) and it works pretty well (the only thing that annoys me is that sometimes when i swipe left or right, the background of pages when on middle is some random, usually non-transparent image, but i just reboot it and it's fine), but i really like android kitkat and would like to install it on my I9300. I searched through various web sites and videos (also here on some threads) and i saw a lot of ROMs for "S3 kitkat" and i can't decide on my own which one is the best. If anyone could help me choose the best S3 kitkat ROM i would be veryveryvery thankful!
PS the first one i saw is cyanogen mod and i think that that one is probably the one i should install, but it's just an idea (aaand when i say the best ROM, i mean the one that could give me the most and the best of my I9300 (pretty obvious i think, but oh well...)) also i saw on sammobile.com an article about South Korean version S3 getting kitkat and when i saw one of comments it gave me some hope for not needing any custom ROM (i would probably be the happiest person if they would relase an official kitkat for I9300 or if it would be possible to take kitkat for some other S3 versions and install on I9300) and the comments go like this:

Installing it will brick your device. Hopefully someone will make a port out of it.

(i'm not that much into ROM stuff and had never installed any custom ROMs, just rooted, unrooted and did binary counter reset once, so please forgive me if i said something stupid or nonesense)
It's no nonsense, but a version of 'what's the best rom', which is against the rules (avoiding endless threads about personal preferences).
Choose the roms with the most and actual posts here, read them and decide. All of them, AOSP- or TW-based, will have some minor bugs. Test it and enjoy.

Samsung Note Edge versions and custom roms

So just bought a Note Edge (SM-N915W8) which is a Canadian version i guess. Since i like installing custom roms on all of my phones I was about to do that on this one too because fk touchwiz. But i was not able to find any custom rom for my version, only for international one and a few more. So my question is ,even if I flashed the rom made for N915F, would it still work? If not then, what should I do? Could I somehow change my version to international? (sorry if these are stupid questions, but i have minimal knowledge about this matter)
