Hi All,
Need your help desperately, I have tried many options on the net but could not find any solution to my device htc desire 501 dual sim. I had rooted my device and went into recovery mode. Now it has stuck at bootloader and cannot find any RUU to re-install the factory image. Have tried with other HTC desire RUU but not succeeded. Is there any RUU where I can use and come back to factory image.
Thank you
Did you tried to hard reset ?

Hi,
I've followed instructions on htcdev.com to unlock my Sensation XL and everything worked fine.
Afterwards I tried to install the ICS custom ROM which I downloaded from this site.
The installation seemed to be successful, but when my phone wanted to reboot, it got stuck on the "HTC" logo.
I also tried another custom ROM and had the same problem.
Has anyone had this before? Or anyone who knows what to do?
Thanks for any information!

I have never worked with htc flashing, but would you need to do a full wipe before changing roms.
First make a backup of your current rom, then do a full factory reset and clear the dalvik cache and the install the rom and see if it boots.
Hit thanks if i helped!

Thank you for the replies.
I've done the following:
- Installed SDK
- Followed instructions to unlock my bootloader at htcdev.com
- Downloaded a recovery file found on google for clockworkmod
- I've plugged my phone onto my of, with USB debugging turned on and via command prompt performed " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
- After that I rebooted my phone while holding down my volume button so I got into the recovery screen
- In that menu I've reset my device to factory settings and cleared cache/data and tried to install the ROM from my sdcard
The install seemed to go ok, but when I try to reboot then my device gets stuck and I have to remove the battery to restore again.
Hope this info helps to clarify my problem.

So I kept looking for any answers in the internet and now I've found that HTC devices need to bet S-OFF to be able to flash custom ROMs.
I've checked and mine is still S-ON so I was so wondering if anyone could help me out on how to get S-OFF or is there something else I can do?

S-OFF
Hi Hybbie,
The methods for getting S-OFF usually depend on the particular model. If you go to the development forum of your device (HTC Sensation XL) you are probably going to get more pertinent info. Be very careful to choose the correct radio type (CDMA vs GSM) as this is really important. One more thing. I have managed to successfully flash a lot of GB ROMs, despite having S-ON. It is the ICS ROMs that are being weird with S-ON, at least for the EVO 3D.

Help me please, I am a noob. So yesterday, I flashed Modaco Switch for HTC One when my battery is low (20%). Now it wont let me pass the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen. I've searched the solution for hours and still, no luck on finding it out. But I see some thread that suggest me to download a new rom and put it in my SD Card, but I cant even pass the HTC boot up screen. Btw, I've relocked and unrooted my device. Thx to all of u guys too

I don't have a HTC phone but I am sure that if you download the PC suit of HTC and try to update or repair it your phone will be at the original i.e at Stock ROM.Hope it helps
Well if you relocked your device then the only thing would be to flash an RUU through bootloader
What I would suggest is to try to unlock your bootloader again if you can, flash a custom recovery, then flash ROM
And being it sounds as if you were using the HTC dev unlocked bootloader method you will probably need to flash the kernel through fastboot as well
If you get things up and running again seriously consider obtaining s-off, pretty sure this is possible on an HTC one but its been a while since I've looked through those threads

Hello,
today I tried to do the HTC Dev Unlock + s-off on my sisters Desire X.
Everything worked, but now im stuck at fastboot screen.
I'm only able to use recovery and fastboot/bootloader screen. My PC don't find the device anymore with ad or fastboot.
Is it bricked or do I have any chance to solve the problem?
Thanks
Edit:
S-OFF

In this case, edit the thread title to [SOLVED] and use the report system to have it closed by a mod.

It didn't get stuck because it was rooted. It go stuck because he deleted OS, so of course it can't boot into the OS after you do that.
Your friend needs to learn more before messing with the phone. It seems he was wiping things without knowing what they were, which is a bad idea.
Yea u r right, he didn't know was rooted at first, but lucky it's ups and running now
[Q] Unable to Reset, Unlock Hboot & Gain S-off on HTC One Max (Frozen Internal Memory
Hi
I have an HTC One max which reverts any changes like deleting and writing of data to the internal storage. Even when u install an app and restart the phone its no where to be found. When you uninstall an app and the phone restarts, you will find the app installed again. Same goes for deleting file from the internal memory.
I tried Hard reset but it results in error. WIth red triangle. When I even Wipe Data/factory reset from both the HBoot and Recovery Menu and restart the phone all the files and apps come back again.
I tried unlocking Bootloader so that I can install a custom rom but after going through the steps on HTC Dev site and agreeing to the terms it reverts changes after restart. and my HBoot is still LOCKED. I tried flashing CWM and TWRP and everything fails.
Now I am Stuck with an HTC one which I cannot, Reset, S-off, Unlock Bootloader, nothing at all. Even new settings clear after restart. Its like the phone returns to a particular restore point after restart. I have combed the XDA but cant find any solution. I tried to temporary root so that I can gain S-Off but using the Firewater tutorial but the Temproot file link on the page says the file is unavailable so I get stuck in the Way
I have tried installing RUUs but all the Roms I got, even the one from the HTC Rom Page have lower version than the one installed already on the phone so it unsuccessful.
Please is there a way you can you can help me
