Best email app - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Themes and Apps

Hello
Right now using gmail and Outlook apps for my emails. I want to know your views on the email app you use and why you consider it better or best, including the stock app
Thanks

Always hated the look of gmail and was a big fan of the Outlook app... the past 3 months, Outlook has been horrible... laggy and unreliable. Still use it but now I am enjoying the new Inbox by Gmail. Great UI, fresh new look. Not yet as powerful as Gmail but I am sure they will enhance it slowly.

I tried inbox, didn't like it.
I have Note 10.1 2014 and Note 3, so want an app that works on both. I have gmail, Hotmail and yahoo accounts so...... need something versatile.

AquaMail is good.

But aquamail free only has 2 accounts?

It work well so I made the purchase....

Aquamail Pro by far the best for me been using it since Note 2 days.

I've been using mymail for awhile now without issues.

I've installed blue mail, and it looks and works fine for now. All my emails checked in one go.

Yes, but it doesn't let me chose how and when to sync the email. There's no option for push, fetch or manual.

I'm using Cloudmagic right now. You can use it with every account you have, and it gives you the ability to create a cloudmagic account, so you can log in on other devices to sync them all.

Blue mail works great...I have gmail, yahoo & outlook all in 1.

Sticking with blue mail for now.

For now i am using nine(play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninefolders.hd3&hl=en), simple interface and user friendly app. What make me purchase this app is, this email have app level security so my company can't remotely control my android security including wiping everything on my phone.

Aquamail is one of the extremely few android apps I've ever spent money on. I've used it with several major email providers. It's as easy and as heavy-duty as any email sw I've ever tried. The UI is no-nonsense, compact, easy to use and read. And the author/owner will actually communicate with you if you need that.

If you are using Hotmail and not Gmail on your google- powered phone you're doing it wrong.

Even I'm waiting for an app....microsoft has live messenger for iOS...want something similar...also something like mbox hotmail which was for iOS as well...I mainly use Google account (my primary), but I still use hotmail....

just configure gmail (on the webpage) to retrieve hotmail and be done with it.
K-9 email app, love it!
I need to sync my school e mail to the atrix. Will k9 works for me?

Geez guys he asked for a Hotmail solution not Gmail.
Microsoft Hotmail now supports Activesync/Exchange. All your contacts, calendar and email flows down.
Select Corporate email setup.
Username is your full email address.
Server is. m.hotmail.com
Domain blank.
Set update to whatever you want from Push to hours.
Btw, I am a huge advocate of Enhanced Email.

Best mail client for exchange

I have been using the native client but I hate in notifications that it only shows one message unread not numerous ones. Also when you click it. It only takes you to inbox not to message.
Anyone know of how to fix these settings or another mail client?

I really like MailDroid free.
You can set different tones for different times of the day, and per email contact. Works great, if you want to have a really loud annoying tone from important people.
Anybody know a good Android app that does Exchange and also other email like Gmail combined?

the email app on the phone handles multiple accts of IMAP, POP, Exchange, etc.
They're separate apps natively...I'm basically looking for an equivalent to the All Inboxes function on iOS...

the email (not gmail) app will handle gmail as imap or activesync as well as any other accts. in a single or combined view.

MailDroid will do this, but its not a unified inbox, if thats what you are looking for.

I use enhance email. I'm using m.google.com for gmail as exchange on 2 Accts. I really like it. Has combined inbox, fit to screen (mobile view) which was really important to me and I'm sure this app does more than my simple mind understands

I don't think this will do mutiple accounts, but by far the best Exchange mail app I've used is TOUCHDOWN by Nitro.
One of the things I LOVE about it, as opposed to using the built in Android mail app, is that any 'remote' admin features are ONLY applied to the Touchdown app.
ie: if your Exchange admin requires a password to get into your mail... if you use the standard android, you have to type it in every time you unlock your phone.... if you use Touchdown you only need to type it in when opening Touchdown.
And most importantly, last I checked, if the Admin wants they can remote wipe the DEVICE if you use the built in mail app.. with Touchdown they can only wipe the mail app's data.
I've used it for several years across multiple companies and it's pretty damn awesome. (It's not just mail btw.. it's also exchange calendars, and Tasks.. and they sync with the built in calendars and almost all widgets).

I am looking for a good email client for my phone and tablet. I have tried K9 and the Samsung clients but looking for something better. Anyone have some good ones?

Guess I should have added that this is for a non-gmail account. I do use gmail for my gmail account but I have a few other email accounts that I need a good client for.

I use touchdown by nitrodesk. My favorite and I've tried about 6. Moxier would be #2. though this is for exchange mail. so YMMV.

I vote Touchdown as well, but...................
Beware the sent emails that go missing completely (no success). Never fails to be a long and important message that disappears with no chance of recovering.
Also beware the included contacts app. Cannot create / nor edit a new exchange contact. Actually you can, but it will not sync with exchange.
There is a work around for this one.

I am a huge fan of AquaMail. It's so much better than MailDroid or K-9, the more "praised" mail apps. Try it out and I think you'll be happy.
Touchdown and Gmail here. Manage work contacts with touchdown and personal contacts via gmail. Keeps things nice and clean
I use MailDroid for my very finicky school email that doesn't work with a lot of other email apps. Never had a problem with it.
I see a lot of people recommending TouchDown, but I believe AquaMail to be superior to it. I've also tried MailDroid, K9 and they aren't as good as AquaMail.
Aquamail.

How is gmail on aqua? Does it get pushed or do you have to have it sync at certain times to get mail?
Show Some Love
^^ IMAP Push works great in Aquamail for Gmail account.

[Q] Any email app recommendations?

I'm looking for one app that can do multiple accounts. I have a hotmail account and a gmail account. The stock email account won't do gmail for whatever reason, so I'm using that for hotmail and the gmail app for gmail. I'm coming from the iPhone, and it was nice to have both of my email accounts in one app. So I'm looking for that. I know you guys have to know of some great apps that can do it.
Thanks!
Try K-9. Its free..
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks.
I was worried at first because the first page upon opening that app says it doesn't support free accounts like Hotmail. But I put in my account info and everything worked perfectly. Which was surprising because I went to enter my gmail account info and it keeps giving me an error saying my username or password is incorrect. But I can use the exact same info to sign into gmail on my laptop...
There is aqua mail also. But K-9 is much better.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Ah, I guess my 2-step verification was causing a problem. Had to get an application specific password and now K9 works.
Not really a fan of the way it looks though, so I guess I'll just have to stick to two separate email apps.
Thanks for the help, though.
+1 for K9 email. I have used it before and it works great.
I also think k9 is your best bet.

You can change the k9 theme from light to dark, but it's limited unless you theme it yourself.
Another vote for K9 mail. I got it running 3 different email accounts.
K9 is good, but I've also used MailDroid, which I liked.
MailDroid Pro.
I was insane enough to pay the sticker price years ago. It is a really good app though.

Which is the best mail app for you?

For me, I love Polymail which gives me great surprise. Besides, airmail, cloudmagic, spark are also nice.
For Linux Mac, Nylas N1 is absolutely my only one.
I like type mail

Just discovered Nine - Outlook for android app. I have not been using it for a long time, but I can tell I won't look back. But, I must state these facts though. First, the app is not free as the service they provide is "Tha Bomb". One time payment of 9,99$ on the Play Store and the app is yours (there is no such things as monthly fees or subscription). Second, you can't use gmail with it because Google had changed the policy not to support ActiveSync for general Gmail users on January 2013, but I am pretty sure the devs will be looking to support IMAP in a near future. There is a 2 weeks free trial period, so why not giving it a chance, if you don't like it, just uninstall it after the trial period and go back to your favorite mail app. I am sure you will not be dissapointed!
** Note
Nine is not cloud based. It stores your accounts passwords only on the actual device. It connects only to the actual mail servers. It stores your messages only on the device.
Update: Nine - Outlook for android app is now called Nine - Email & Calendar. It now support Gmail & G Suite (Google Apps).
