Magic Cover staining the back of the device. - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Is it possible that the magic cover is loosing color and staining the device?
I have a black N9 with a black magic cover for some time now and today I realized that the back of my device looks like this:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I don't think the stains come from something else than the smart cover. When the device is lying around or in use the back is protected by the magic cover.
When the N9 is in my backpack the magic cover is on the front but my backpack is red on the inside.
I also tried cleaning it with a damp cloth and some soap and also some window cleaner. Absolutely nothing changed.
Anybody else having the same issues or has someone any idea what I could use to clean the device?

Hi, I do have exactly the same issue (and suspicion) with my brand new device just after a couple of days of using.
Has anyone resolved the issue? What is the best cleaning method, if any?
Thank you!

I haven't had a problem with this specific case that you guys mention, but I know that I've used goo-gone before to remove color stains. Might be worth a shot.

I've used just normal windex to clean devices when there are issues like that

Yeah, I suppose that normal cleaning solutions might be good.

Try using Goo-Gone. Works like a charm

Check out this case!

I finally found a case that covers the phone and you can still use the keyboard without removal. I never seen this case before and ran across it on ebay HERE.
I just order the smoke colored one I will let you know how it is when it comes in! I will use it without the clip and just throw it in my pocket.
make a picture how the wizard looks in it when you get it! look good but I wonder how much it adds to the depth of the device.
here some pics they not that great but they will do. the case doesnt add much to the overall size. fits well too.

will this case work with the 8125 also...?
it wont work because the button layout on the 8125 is different than the mda.

blah thats what i thought. I don't understand why you can't just make a jell case that covers both pieces seperately! HOW FRICKEN HARD WOULD THAT BE!?!?! Honestly! It is so frustrating. I wish I knew how to make jell cases like that and I would do it myself and make a mint selling them on eBay.
Fantastic

Wow this is exactly what I was looking for! Only is it tough? I am using the Aluminium one and believe me it has really protected the phone from some nasty drops. Though makes it bulky.
This one for 8125...

I really like the look of the blue case. Cheers for showing us these.
Looks like from doing a bit of research on google they are roughly a good $15-20 to buy so not too bad (that's Aussie dollars)

amazing... where i am buy in indonesia ?
Great case (I have one) although it doesnt cover much of the front of the phone ie front edges or buttons when lying face down on a surface and the camera/mic area is also exposed when lying down on a surface - otherwise excellent case.
Oh yea the right hand side of mine pops off and the case moves slightly back and forth over the phone causing scratches - the movement is solved with sticky tape between the back of the phone and the inside of the case.
I have incidentally since bought a Krusell case which is far far superior in many ways (see post) but does increase the size of the phone a lot more than this slim fitting profile Imak case.
P.S - dust/dirt getting between the back of the phone and the case can cause a sandpaper scratching effect between the hard surfaces and I used some sticky tape to stop the slight movement as the case moved over the phone to also stop the scratching (and the movement).

[Q] Replacing the glass on this, is it too far gone? -opinions?

Hi guys, just looking at a phones glass and trying to decide whether it's too far gone to repair. I know it needs a new button also. What do you think?

Ouch.
Well anything is possible but depends on how much money are you willing to spend. Try finding a good deal on ebay for the entire front with digitizer, lcd and button like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...058?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337f67fb42

You don't think this can get done with just the glass and not the whole LCD replaced?

Yes it can be done.
Its a hard process search on you tube for movie's.

well anything is possible but from my prior experience with other phones, the adhesive holding the digitizer and lcd together is very strong. When trying to pull it apart it usually cracks the lcd...
So from now on I just usually buy the entire assembly.
The glass is not too hard to replace. I broke mine (not nearly as bad as yours). It took me about an hour to get the old glass off, clean it all up and install the new glass.
Make sure to keep the heat on (I just used a hair dryer) and slowly work your way around. After having a look at the photo I'm not sure the digitizer or buttons will work though. They are both attached by a very thin ribbon at the bottom of the phone, which if damaged won't work.
Holy crap it still works!

Anyone here have tried Obliq S8 Flex Pro Case?

Hello everyone,
I currently have a generic case for my s8 and I'm looking now for a new replacement. I sure do love the video, how good the design is but I'm not sure if this will lasts for long? Anyone there that have experience with flex pro? Would like to see how it will end after a month of using it . I know there is a lot of other choices (spigen, uag etc) but I want to try new brands aswell.

It's not bad, looks every bit as good as the pictures. If you use the fingerprint sensor it messes with being able to lay you finger flat on it. It also seems to catch some dust in the little grooves. I decided to keep it for when I feel I may need the protection of a case, but decided to use a dbrand skin and Rhinoshield bumper for normal use. Also the leather bit looks great but don't expect it to be soft or actually feel like leather.

I see, so there is affected things like fp sensor. How many days have you tried it? Might want to share to me the image?
I want to see the result after several days of daily use or somethin. I want to know if there will be some torn issues, changes of color etc.
Thank you!

+1 also interested. Even more annoying, when the clip came off and got lost, my s-pen was attached to it at the time
I too am interested in solutions. I havent lost mine yet, but it has broken a bit and comes off of the keyboard very easily now

Purchase some Gorilla Glue to glue the holder down permanently, also get a bit of carbon fiber of ebay cover up the broken bit. Then it will looks nice! Job Done!
It will be nice to have a keyboard cover that could hide the s-pen behind the tab, comes with touch pad and attach with the pogo connector. Those are the features coming with Tab S6 keyboard cover.

I like this - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07FXZDSXB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Such a simple idea and no problem with loosing S Pen or having it snag on anything and being a pain...

There is not a good solution to your problem you'll either have to buy a new case or you can get some black epoxy and permanently glue the holder to the case.
