I have a clean 4.03 R5a install from 6 month or so, i use the tablet only for Chrome , no apps, no installs, no downloads, just web browsing, everyday it's more slow than even and now it's almost imposible to open two tabs at one, i wonder if somebody try to use the app called "LagFix" or what kind of app can help me to get the tablet as fast as six month ago
Hi,
I have been using it but did not find any noticeable improvement. Sometimes after using lagfix the tablet works fine for some minutes and then the lag shows up again.
In my case, the lag is related to high values of Iowait. Unfortunately, there's no way of identitying the process responsible for this behavior.

so i have had my phone for 11 days now and it's been a very good phone (coming from a blackberry, iphone 3g, now this) but today I have noticed some real peoblems. Besides going threw 3 sim cards in less then 2 weeks but my phone has been freezing up alot today about 5 time and the only way I could get it back working was to take the battery out Any ideas?
During freezing I was playing angry birds, surfing the web, going threw android market, running speed test. I am getting "force close" alot also when getting on the XDA app(during loading latest topics) Thanks for any input!

Looks like you have to do some trouble shooting. When the FCs started have you installed any application recently that may cause that like a task killer or a launcher app like Launcher pro, ADW EX, Go launcher? If not there are so many bad apps in the market that can cause force closes. I would factory wipe your phone. Of course all your settings and customizations are gone then; so be careful what you have to save before doing that. I would try the phone for some hours without any app from the market. If you still get force closes it is most likely the phone. If everything is ok...start to install all your apps but little by little so that you can pin point the bad app.
I have launcher pro. I will remove it and see what happens

Launcher Pro probably isn't your problem as most of the people I know with atrix's use it.
Everything force closes on this thing. Including the app for this forum.

The only thing that force closes with me and many others is Crackle
Other than this I think you have to factory-reset your device as other applications are running fine

Yes I get constant force closes on many apps and the browser. Seems like a honeycomb issue. Please fix this for ICS google.
I am hoping this is fixed with Flash 11 that just came out. So far so good.
Facebook used to force close on me a few days ago, after a powercycle (reboot) it went away.. so far only XDA app force closes on me, but when i use Tapatalk, it works fine.

I finally rebooted for the first time since receiving the device 7 days ago. I realized that would probably take care of some of the issues.
Hey Gutta624,
I'm having force close issues with my Sony Tablet S too. I wasn't getting any when I first got the tablet but ever since the 3.2.1 update I have been. I can't even access the Google Accounts app and sync the device to my google account.
I've started a thread called "Constant force closes since 3.2.1" on the androidtablets forum. I'd post a link but the best I can do is androidtablets (dot) net because this is my first post here at xda-developers.
I plan to take my device to the nearest service center this week so I'll let you know how that goes.

Do you sync your brower bookmarks with your google account? I have the same issues when activating the sync.
I have to say, this is a worrying thing with this Tablet. My other half has an ipad 2, and although it doesn't have flash, the rest of it does work as it should. Whereas the Sony seems to have all these niggly issues with it.
So now I have to weigh up the options - no flash but reliable os, or flash support but seemingly endless problems.
I've just got a nagging doubt about the Sony that if I get one I'm going to end up regretting it and wishing I'd just got a proper ipad instead.
Anyone have a problem free, happy Sony tablet experience?
Love the device... the software is miserable.
1. Social App and the Browser sometimes force close.
2. Zinio is frequently unresponsive and has to be force closed - happens regularly now that I have a few magazines in my library.
3. Stock browser is awefully laggy. This in comparison with my HTC Desire Z running Gingerbread. Try [www techradar com]. Very very slow and generally unresponsive. This is but one example. the lastest has been a laggy Sony app selection website. Oh... Opera often closes with no warning or error.
4. Dammit... Stanard Keyboard just force closed typing this.
5. The text selection is terribly buggy. Often can't select the right spot... the green arrows jump around erractically making the whole experience frustrating. Happens right here on XDA.
6. Predicition isn't't as good as the HTC devices... and they keyboard is not as responsive as the demo unit... either because of a software upgrade or the sony screen protector. Find that keys aren't't registering... most evident on the space bar.
The above isn't't at all acceptable and I'm hoping asoftware upgrade fixes it.
7. We were sold this device (in singapore) as a playsation certified device... and there isn't a store available... bad sony!!!
8. swapping between devices in the remote control app is too slow.
9. The DNLA app is frustrating.... slowt ransfers over wireless network... doesn't handle 90% of the video I have (from HTC and Panasonic) devices. Also clumsy interface... Doesn't even remember prior folder selections.
10. Battery drainage on standby is really mindboggling. Lose about 16% per day. I get about 4 maybe 5 at best out of the device. charging is awefully slow compared to other devices. Typically 3 to 4 hrs to recharge fully (from 14%).
I've taken a lot of time andcare diagnosing andcan't attribute the issues to anything otherthan software.... and this line was me typing at full speed with keyboard lag.
Would appreciate feedback.
Oh... how do I stop the autoreplace from forcing a replacement? I know you can select it but that would save it to the dictionary which I don't want. On the HTCs you simply click the empty space following the word and it's ignored.
Regards
I am also from Singapore..download the account manager apk and sign up..u will be able to download free PS games...
Today m going to sony store to replace my tab as its back case started creaking sound which is frustating..

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, i searched but couldnt find anything related that helped. So, today I noticed that my phone was running hot even when doing some regular tasks like browsing the play store, reading sms, playing solitaire etc. And even hotter when using MX player to watch movies. In the past my s2 could run these apps with ease, I never felt the phone getting hot except when running CPU intensive HD games.
Is there a way to find out the reason behind this? My s2 is rooted on alliance jb ROM.

1)the phone sometimes get hot when ur using more of 3g over wifi.
2) Kernel is also another reason for ur phone getting hot.
look into the above ones and see, if any change made to them might bring down the heat'
like using more wifi than 3g, and also a change of kernel
Every time I flash a new rom it seems perfect. It's smooth and nice for a while, but after about a month it always gets really sluggish and a real pain to handle for even the simplest tasks. Currently on ultimate xperia HD. I've tried some things including ram manager, greenify etc. but it doesn't help in the long run. Is there anyone who knows miracle potion for this issue?
It is becauee of the cache just download NG cache cleaner and deleted the cache from your phone ,, it delete automaticly the cache every day it requires root just try

It's because of the internal memory which is filled with cache. Use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache , set it to auto-delete your cache to a specific interval of time according to how you use your phone (i have mine set do delete at every 1 hour, because i'm using the phone to navigate, to watch Youtube etc). I'm using it for about two months, and the phone is butter smooth on ICS. And the best part, the app doesn't consume memory or battery at all.
I cant figure this out. My Xperia Tablet Z is perfect except for this issue. ANY browser I try, it starts out working buttery smooth, but after a few hours without the browser being closed and restarted, scrolling starts to become laggy, there starts to be text input lag, etc. Ive tried a lot, but Id rather not try a factory reset. Have a lot of stuff on it. Anyway.
Ive noticed a trend. When initially starting a browser, it takes up about 50 mb of ram. After using a browser for a while (even with a single tab open and never opening over 1 tab), the bowser grows in size until it takes up hundreds of mbs of ram. Next browser was taking up 400mb of ram and lagging horribly after a few hours before I restarted it, after taking up 50 mb of ram when initially opened.
Any ideas? This happens with chrome, dolphin, next, firefox, UC, etc, etc, etc.
I use Boat Browser and I have no lag issues

Have you tried Maxthon? It can be quirky, but it seems pretty quick to me. Also supports side-loaded Flash.

Thanks floor the help but I have a theory. I turned off JavaScript in chrome and the memory leak no longer occurs.chrome uses around 100 of ram but doesn't increase like it used to.also no lag. Why would java cause the issues? Do I need to download an updated version or something?
