hi,
on my old smartphone played hill climb racing. on my old phone (galaxy s2) i could "export" the savegame by coping a folder (something like com.fingersoft......) from /data/data to external sd and after reset the device and reinstall the game copy it back and all works like before. this is what i tried with my new z2 - didn't work. i installed the game with play store and replaced the folder created at the first start of the game with the folder from the s2. the game didn't start. after that i can't start it anymore. no homescreen widget and i couldn't find it in settings -> apps. in titanium backup the app was strikethrough. i couldn't unistall the game in titanium backup, there was no reaction when i pressed uninstall in titanium backup.
so i installed the app new from play store and it worked and i could use my save games. but after every reboot there is the same problem: no widget, no app in settings /apps and strikethrough in tb. i installed it again and uninstalled it. same result. i can use it but after reboot it doesn't exist anymore.
i use stock 4.4.2 (rooted). any idea what i can do?

Hello
As an android lover, everytime time a new update comes out I like to install in on my GALASY SII...but i have one problem...as I am a gaming freak, i always play asphalt 6 on my galaxy s2...and everytime i install...obviously the game gets removed....now my question is if i have the backup of the game folder...how can i put it again and play the game...bec when i tried..it gives some license error and i have to download the whole 600MB game again...pls help guys.
If you installed it from the Android market, the big folder to backup is in /sdcard/Android/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA6HP/
Use titanium backup to make a backup of game and restore it when you want by checking restore application+data
hi,
long story short i ended up with angry birds partially installed on my system. Titanium backup pro is not able to restore the application(hangs on restore), when i try to side-load the app im getting Application Not Installed error. When i try to install it via market, im getting incompatible update error. Angry birds is nowhere to be found in the system(root) folder and also i cant see it in "installed apps".
I tried to unmount SDcard(SW and also in real life), remove everything with ROVIO or ANGRY from root, wiped dalvik and cache partition.
So i was wondering, where does the system store installed application list?
Is there any way how to force install the apk?
I have found 2 possible solutions, modifying Androidmanifest.xml of the apk or loading the apk with package installer. will any of those help?(i wont have access for PC for several hours).
thanks.
So, I was downloading Legendary Heroes from the store. I tried to play another game while the download was happening in the background. That made the phone restart by itself. The download had stopped. So in case the files of the game that were already downloaded are still there filling up the memory, how would I remove them. In which folder does Android temporarily store the game files while it is being downloaded?
Device: Samsung SCH-i509
Android Ver: 2.3.6
Rooeted: Yes
Internal Memory: 160MB
Ext memory: 2GB microSD partitioned as: 1st Partition: 1455MB FAT, Second Partition: 515 EXT2 (I am using Link2SD for linking apps to SD card)
Superuser App: SuperSU
Rom Management: RomToolBox lite
I rooted my phone about a fortnight ago, first time rooting, things went fine, and apps were responsive.
2 days back I not only uninstalled the Google Play Store updates but also uninstalled the app, hoping I would install the latest google store APK from Android Police ( Ver: com.android.vending-4.8.22.apk )
I am new to rooting and installing apks, so after installing the above mentioned Google Play Store apk to the SD card and finding it was not responsive (I was getting a blank screen and an error message shortly thereafter which disappeared instantaneously for me to note what it said). I googled and found on a forum, (sorry don't recall which one) that the APK needs to be copied to the system/app folder and any previous apk of Google Play Store needs to be replaced. So using Root Browser in ROMToolBox I copied the apk to system/app.
Doing so did open the 'first run' of Google Play Store, as in I was prompted to allow permission via google account and opened the interface with my apps etc normally. But trouble started when I tried to update the apps. The moment I do that, I get the downloading bar AND then I get the force close screen. The same would happen in the case if I try to download any apps.
I froze the Google Play Store app through ROMToolBox App Manager.
On doing a search on XDA forums before I posted here I came across: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2129881
And did as suggested in this thread: went to the system/app folder through Root Browser and set permission to rw-r--r-- as suggested there.
UNFORTUNATELY things are the same as before: once the app fires up either by clicking on a Google Play Store linked ad or by just opening it, I am back to force close screen.
I would be really thankful if someone could help me out on this.
Also, I am not quite sure how much it makes a difference I was using Link2SD to link all user apps to SD card (I uninstalled this app as well hoping to install the latest version)
You rebooted after changing the apk permissions, right? Also perhaps try force stopping the plays store, wiping the app data then reboot.
Thanks

Click to collapse
Thanks for the reply. I had rebooted and clear app data but the app was still unresponsive/
The issue resolved when I downloaded an older version of the Google Play Store app and installed it in the sys/app folder after removing the previous one, reconfigured the permissions and rebooted. things are working fine now.
Cheers, have a great weekend!
Has anyone noticed apps locking up? I did a restore from my Nexus 7 and I notice lag and apps freezing or not working. Wondering if its because of the restore or just 5.0 and 64bit being so new.
Good question!
Yeah I noticed apps misbehaving when I restored from Nexus 10. Deleting and installing from scratch helped somewhat. But still:
Archos Video player crashes and doesnt work unless it is invoked from another app, used to crash all the time after restore
ES File manager doesn't have all the associations - for example it wont give the option to open CBR files via Perfect Viewer, despite re-installing both
AnTuTu crashes once every 2 tries ( used to crash every time after the restore )
