So all of a sudden the duo effects will not work on my phone. When I go to apply any effect, it says 'duo effects not available for this image'. However, they pictures were taken with all the settings as they should be. Also, if I block the duo lense, it states to unblock it.. so it's working. I even reset the camera to default settings, but still no luck. The only thing I can think of is that I changed app settings to ART, but I'm unsure if this could be related.

There's no option to disable it under the camera setting. And I have to disable wireless networks & GPS together before removing its ability to geotag. But by doing so, my google maps/navigation won't work.
So is there a way to just disable geotagging or wipes the info from photos completely?
Bump. Still looking for an answer or any help with this.
Bump.

I bumped this earlier, but i think i figured it out.
go into your regular settings and go to location and security and UNCHECK both "use wireless networks" and "use GPS Satellites" I checked the photo i uploaded to picasa and i get this:
Latitude: 0.000000° N
Longitude: 0.000000° E
So i believed it worked.
I gotta run so if any one else can do this to confirm. That would be great.
Is this really the only way to disable geo-tagging? Don't those two settings also affect the maps app? So the only real solution is to remember to turn off the location services before shooting a picture and then re-enabling it before using the maps.
For anyone who thinks this is not a big deal, read the stories about Adam Savage and his geo-tagging incident.

The setting in the camera app is gone in Froyo?
Settings - Tools - GPS make sure it's unchecked
These are the settings I see in my camera app (Using Nero v3)
Camera Tab:
Outdoor Visibility
Focus Mode
Timer
Resolution
White Balance
Effects
ISO
Metering
Anti-Shake
Auto Contrast
Blink Detection
Image Quality
Adjust
Wrench tab:
Guidelines
Review
Shutter Sound
Storage
Reset
Firmware Update
That's it. There's a GPS icon on the screen, but touching it just causes the camera to focus at that spot. The menu button on the phone doesn't do anything.
I have checked and sure enough, the geotagged information is being stored in the exif information in the image.
Skip
BUMP, seriously, not being able to turn off geotagging in 2.2 is annoying.
The only way to turn it off is by turning off the GPS entirely, that is annoying!
They need to put an option in the camera settings to turn off GEO tagging.

Ya I always thought geotagging and all the location apps are really really creepy. Companies collecting personal data anonymously is not THAT bad, but things that could single out/identify me as a individual are completely a different story.
I rather thought this was a known bug even on 2.1 where geotagging would stay on even if you turned it off.
Edit: the only way I was able to get the gps to turn off was by turning off the use wireless net works under location and security.

Anyone? I know I seen it on 2.1
I just encountered this problem on a 2.2 ROM for the Captivate. I can't believe that more attention is not being paid to this security flaw. The only thing I found besides disabling location features on the phone is a program called Geo Eraser which will remove geotags from photos after they are taken: http://androgeoid.com/2010/10/remove-photo-geotagging-info-with-geo-eraser/ . This is not an ideal solution as you still have to remember to remove the geotag.
Bumping this BIG TIME now.
Just got the OFFICIAL 2.2 Froyo installed and GEO-TAGGING needs to GO!
I just rooted it so, what's next?
I agree. You should have the option... But that's why I rooted... So I can do what I want...
I am with androidandroid, what is the next step to fix this?

I'd like to get this figured out, too. I posted a question in the Captivate forum asking about using Tasker to disable/enable location services while the camera is active.

I used this app too and it worked well. I rooted my Epic and installed a custom rom and now the app has been pulled from the market... So sad
Now it reappeared.
If you didnt see it yet the Google Music APK has leaked from ICS. It's pretty slick.
Download here
I'll also attach it
If you have a previous version of Google Music installed, you must uninstall it first! If Music was preinstalled on your device, use Titanium Backup to uninstall it and then reboot your device. After that, you should be able to install this just like any other app.
If you're music doesn't sync after installing, simply head into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and clear data. Should work after that.
I got this info from Android Police and it worked great for me
Also check out Google+ from ICS
I got fcs on this app. Sence fcs
Got it working I just clear data.

That's strange. I'm running CM7 - Haven't tried it on a Sense Rom.
One person mentioned uninstalling it, rebooting, then re-installing it. Perhaps that would help?
Yea running good on CM. I did have to clear data then go into settings and select my account. Seems to be running smooth so far. Listening to MGK right now. (Pre-BadBoy) Lace the F*ck up!

It's Google Music -> Android Police went over the changes and included pics
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...s-all-new-interface-better-controls-and-more/
From the Android Police Post said:
the tabs are cleaner and the player area at the bottom takes up less space.
The Selection menu has also taken on a minor change: instead of a popup in the middle of the screen, it now displays a dialog-style box directly below the artist. The available offline option is also missing from this menu, which may indicate a change in the way Music caches its streams. These two things are definitely the most minor of all the changes
The Player interface has also received a subtle makeover to match the rest of the app. It's clean and sleek, with less obtrusive buttons and more agile controls. Also noteworthy is the inclusion of a 'search' button in the top right, which is clearly due to ICS's lack of a physical search key
Tapping on the album cover in Music 3 offers very few additional controls -- just shuffle and repeat. Tap the album cover in Music 4, though, and you'll more options and details about the currently playing track and artists. Music 4 also offers track rating by way of thumbs up and thumbs down, so you'll hear more of what you like and less of what you don't.

Ok, I uninstalled the old google music app and then installed the new one but I cant seem to get it to connect to my gmail account or sync...how do I do this?
Edit: Nevermind it just asked me to sync....
I just started seeing the new application permissions thing on my HTC Thunderbolt and thought it might be interesting to see when apps were accessing data. It was interesting... for the first dozen or so times. Now I'm getting toast notifications (especially from Locale) about it's various activities all the time, and I am no longer finding it remotely interesting.
Is there any way to get back to the settings and turn the toggle back off?
Please?
Anyone?
What ROM are you using, and how did you enable the option? Some screenshots of the notifications and settings would help as well.
Running eternity-tb-runnymede-r238 (Infectedrom), will try to screen cap the next time one of these prompts appears. The screen only seems to show up since Android Market "upgraded" to Google Play, and only when an app changes data permissions.
Took me a while to get back to this, but...
Here's a screen cap of the settings screen I'm talking about. Only seems to show up after initial install/update to privacy settings and I have no idea how to get back to it.
Um, apparently I haven't posted enough to post links, so make this into a URL --

I think you are referring to an app that is doing that. It's called P Droid i think. Maybe if you just cleared it's data you could reset it. Just a thought I'm not sure there may be an easier way.

Hmm.
No, don't think I have that installed, unless it's baked into the ROM.
Hello all,
Its getting very annoying: everytime I pinch out on the homescreen to get to the homescreen selection section, a voice is saying some stuff I cant even understand, even in silent mode. Its getting me sick!
How can I disable it? Looked for it everywhere! Someone has a clue?
Thanks in advance.

Have you added an app as an accessibility service? Maybe Lightflow or Tasker? You can either remove those apps as accessibility services or you could use another launcher. This is a known bug which doesn't really have a perfect solution yet.

I had the same issue yesterday and i solved it
At first i thought it was driving mode(since that reads out things while you drive) then i checked accessibility settings and i disabled talk back(i think).....but that still didnt work.
Found out its lightflow....Has something to do with the app.I think you can disable it but i just removed the app completely and the voices stop
I'm still waiting for my s3 so can't check whether that does the trick or not but the developer of Missed It! said to check that both Talkback and Install Web Script (both in Accessibility settings) are set to off
Sent from my CM9 TouchPad
I've had this problem too and I don't have Lightflow installed. For me, the solution was to go to Settings, Accessibility and under Services turn off 'Addons Detector' which I had installed.
So, perhaps it's anything installed in the Services section causes the problem. A bug perhaps?
Struggling to replace dodgy gallery with quickpic on JB 4.1.2 so that the camera uses quickpic as the default viewer.
Tried freezing gallery, when I click on photo in camera nothing happens. Set default app for photos to be quickpic and the camera still uses gallery.
Any ideas. ..?

The first thing I do with a new device is ditch the Gallery in favor of QuicPic.
If you're rooted, no problem just delete the Gallery. If not, go to Settings/Applications/All/Gallery/ and click on Clear Defaults. Next time you view a picture select QuickPic and click on Clear Defaults.
------------------------------------
If it was easy you'd of hired the guy at Home Depot to to it.

Is it possible to rename quickpic to the same name as old gallery and put it in the system folder?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
Thats my question too, but with the nexus 4 gallery.
any solution?
-anyone tried the renaming idea, as suggested?
My guess is the two apps function differently and so google has changed our ability to use quickpic from the JB camera. Why? Think about it - if you use the camera from the lockscreen by swiping to the right, you can take a pic and review it without entering a password and unlocking your phone. But reviewing a pic this way gives you very limited options (eg you CANNOT set it as wall paper, nor can you email it or send it, which if you Could, would be a sneaky security flaw that would enable access into a locked device).
This means google has rewritten gallery to function differently according to whether it has been accessed via the camera from the lockscreen or whether you have accessed the camera after unlocking the device.
Quickpic probably doesn't have that ability, but I wish it DID!
I dunno - MAYBE WE ALL SHOULD EMAIL THE MAKERS OF QUICKPIC AND REQUEST THAT IT BE UPDATED SO AS T WORK WITH THE STOCK CAMERA?
Quickpic is an awesome app and it's way better than the stock gallery app!
when you disable gallery in apps manager it disables both the gallery and camera which means that their obvously linked together. they are both separate apks but still both part of the same app therefore meaning that it wouldnt really be possible to do it i dont think unless you were to modify the gallery app yourself you might be able to do it but would be hard XD from what i can think the camera apk kinda acts like a link if you think about it as opposed to its own app.
QuickPic cannot view TIFF files. I have alot of them copied from my PC to the SD card and cannot find a viewer that can see both those and the Jpegs. Anyone have any ideas?
