[Q] Any way to port "Android One" rom to another MT6582? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I have an MT6582-device with FWVGA Display and JellyBean (Innjoo i1 - only available in the Middle East and Africa) just like the "Android One" devices..
I see a lot of support and ROMS for those devices and they're getting stock Lollipop this month too!
So I thought I could try and port one rom (CM11) for example to my device.
Is this even possible?
I have my device's stock ROM, MIUI v5 that I ported myself to my device, My device boot.img extracted with the kernel, ramdisk, and device tree. (and a Kitkat kernel for MT6582 available at github)
I just need proper steps on how to port Cyanogenmod to my device.
Thanks.

I'm not asking for anything but to tell me if it's possible or not!!

[Q] Custom ROM UI Porting

Hello there.
I recently changed my device from a Xperia X8 to the new LG L4-II (E440), but i noticed that development for these new LG devices is almost nowhere to be seen because of its Mediatek hardware (at least that's what devs complain about)
I used MiniCM10 on the X8 (JB 4.1.2) and noticed that both of these devices have the same resolution (although the LG has a bigger screen), so my question is:
Since both devices have the same resolution, and both Roms are Jelly Bean 4.1.2, is it possible to use the UI files from the custom Rom in Lg's stock rom, (SystemUI, framework-res, stuff like that) without bricking the software?
LG doesn't have a custom recovery and both phones have very different hardware, so porting the Rom for me is out of the question, i'm no developer... but since they have the same resolution, it would be fun to merge some CM flavour into the stock rom.
Thank you guys in advance.

no..bro yu simply cant copy the ui files for another rom...dey wont work... U may end up soft bricking or bootlooping ur device...
Yu must port it for ur device
and another thing yu cant simply port cyanogen from another phone to a mediatek device...it will never work....(may cause hard brick also)
only roms of mediatek can be ported for mediatek devices dat also the chipset should be same (like mt6577 to mt 6577) or (mt 6589 to mt6589) not from (mt6577 to mt6589) and vv
hit thanks rather typing
Anyone can change the UI without root, just install nova launcher, sun beam live wallpaper and a custom notification bar from the play store.

i want to ask you that i started cooking roms using android kitchen for my s duos.. but i want to know tthat how to port UI of other rom to my rom..

A few questions about porting

Hello,
I read alot lately about porting Lollipop (CM 12.1) to my device (Allview V1 Viper which is basically a rebranded Gionee Elife E3) but i have some questions:
1. As far as i understood, there are some problems with CM and Mediatek devices. However i saw some posts with people succeeding to boot CM 12.1 on these devices. Can this be achieved ?
2. If yes, can i use KitKat stock kernel with a Lollipop build ? (my common sense says no, but who knows ?) If no, how can i build a kernel for Lollipop for this device. I saw that Mediatek released kernel source, can that be used ? Also, can i use the drivers from KitKat ? If no, which and where should i get the drivers from ? Can i use any files from KitKat stock rom for a Lollipop port ?
This will clear some things for the beginning.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Help needed to port a ROM to a differen phone with same SOC

Hi,
I would like to port the novafusion lollipop rom from Samsung golden (S3 mini) to Samsung skomer (XCover 2). They both use the NovaThor U8500 SOC. There is a kitkat rom for skomer (vanir).
Does this mean I have all the bits available I need for the porting?
Can a kernel be used on different phones with the same SOC?
Is there somewhere a list what has changed in the source from kitkat to lollipop - or can I reuse the device tree from the kitkat skomer rom?
Have I missed the "[GUIDE] Port to another phone with same SOC" thread which answers all my questions - and the next to come ?
Best regards
Daniel

[Q]How do I port a ROM with an android version NOT made for my phone yet, but it is availible on a very similar device?

So as the Q says.
If you still don't get what I am trying to ask:
Suppose there are two very similar devices one has jellybean for it and the other does not so how do I port that ROM to the other device without a base ROM. AND IF I CAN'T. Then please tell how to build ROM from source to a UNSUPPORTED device.
Thanks in advance
