This is the second version of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 root solution.
It replaces the original rootable kernel.
This version comes with SuperSU 1.41 preinstalled and the su and busybox pathes have been changed to achieve better compatibility with some root applications.
The vcoreroot-v2.tar file can be flashed with Odin as PDA.
Keep Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time selected.
Use at your own risk, I'm not responsible for bricking your device.

Hi..try a program called kingoroot. http://www.kingoapp.com/ as it works really good to root the mega..you just install the program on your pc and connect to your mega and follow the on screen instructions and when done your phone should be rooted...but you might have to factory reset your phone in the recovery since you cannot get into the rom as you connect kingoroot when you have the phone on and in the rom.
If this does not work for you I will get you a different file to root your phone with odin.

[Q] Is o2 GT-I9300 verified for rooting? [Solved/Verified]

Hey guys,
I'm looking to root my o2 (Telephonica) Samsung GT-I9300 S3, however I can't find anywhere on this forum using the search function saying that the rooting methods for the S3 work for the UK o2 carrier. Can someone confirm that it can be rooted?
I tried to root it through a Windows 8 parition I had on my laptop, and even though Odin said "Successful" it didn't actually do anything. I tried rooting my S3 using Chainfire's method.
I use Ubuntu 12.04, and I was going to root my device that way instead, but I want verification for my o2 device before I go setting off the counter.
Samsung Galaxy S3 - GT-I9300
Android 4.0.4
Baseband: I9300XXLH1
Build No: IMM76D.I9300XXBLG8
Thanks,
BkS.
If cf root fails then you need to flash the root again with auto reboot unchecked, then when it has flashed boot into recovery and this will trigger the installation

Thank you sir. :good:
I'll try it on my mothers W7 Lappy. Perhaps more success that way.
Probably not needed, but for anyone else who needs this in the future:
The UK o2 Samsung Galaxy S3 can be rooted.
I applaud you for putting solved on your title......you are the first person to have the decency to do that in ages.
Have some thanks!
Thanks, I guess its just years of forum using. It's only common courtesy.
Have some thanks too!

Hi I was just wondering if the O2 animation on startup affects the rooting process? Will it interfere or stop the process from working? ...I know the method for using Odin and CFRoot but just want to make sure. I also have the stock o2 firmware for s3 uk version downloaded just in case it messes up. I saw this post and you are on o2 so thought id ask. :cyclops:

i9305 rooting error

Hi guys,
First of all thank you for all the awesome tips and tricks here, I really learned a lot from the community.
I have a samsung i9305 which I recently purchased to replace my i9300.
I downloaded super su and busy box to my phone but then they didn't work because my phone wasn't rooted (stupid me, i forgot)
so I tried rooting it using this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914394
and followed each and every instruction perfectly but then my phone wasn't getting rooted (checked on rootchecker basic, although settings stated that my device is modified and triangle counter is 2)
so i did it twice but I still got the same result.
Then I tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273
And I thought it worked properly (since when my phone booted up it said that it was updating the OS)
but then my super su installation was gone and every time I try to open root checker it just gets stuck on the (your system appears to be slow...) and it never finishes checking. Also, sometimes the apps won't open.
Can anyone help me with this issue? I don't want to break/brick this new phone. :crying:
I'm currently downloading the original firmware and im hoping to unroot it by flashing it via odin later. But it's a zip file right and we need the .md5 thing to flash on odin? how do i flash it?
I hope you can help me out and I'm really sorry for the hassle.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Might wanna try the correct forum.

I have the Supeeruser app installed but when I click on it - it gives message that the superuser binary must be updated, please choose an installation method ...
If I choose Install I get an error -- there was an error installing Superuser

Motochopper only works on old s4 firmwares. Use CF-Auto-Root instead, instructions and downloads here: http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
CF-AUTO-ROOT doesn't work on this device does it?

Samsung Mega SGH-I527 STUCK IN BOOTLOOP
Hi guys... How are you? This is the first time i have ever posted to a forum so I'm sorry if its a bit scattered...
okay i got a AT&T Mega SGH-I527 for free in its current state... so i don't know any of the info except what i can see which is :
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME : SGH-I527
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1 <---Dose this matter if i don't care about the warranty?
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
BOOTLOADER RP SWREV: 4
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
its stuck in a bootloop, I can put it in download mode.
Now these steps kinda worked i think lol
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-mega/general/stock-odin-firmware-i527-4-4-2-t2835136
seam to work as far as Odin being able to access it and try to install those files i downloaded which are :
AP_I527UCUBNE7_1711751_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
BL_I527UCUBNE7_1711751_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
CP_I527UCUBNE7_1711751_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
CSC_ATT_I527ATTBNE7_1711751_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
i also tried to a PIT file not sure which one it was tho file name is:
Samsung_I527_PIT.PIT <--- this is one is 4.75kb
that just tells me " SECURE CHECK FAIL: PIT
now all theses seam to take meaning they pass according to Odin but it reboots and just goes back into the bootloop...
now when i did try theses files it did something it didn't do before it gave me a little blue tag at the top saying "RECOVERY BOOT..."
then it just loops again... I'm not really sure what my question is and I'm sorry so i guess I'm just asking if anyone can tell me whats happening? do i keep trying to work it out or should i just recycle the phone? i cant help to think that there life here tho...
I know y'all have been over this a thousands of time but it all kinda mind numbing... any kinda advice would be cool thanks...
Simple. DONT USE THE PIT FILE AND DONT WIPE THE PARTITIONS.

okay i tied all the files without the PIT and they all passed... but on each one after its completed and passed (Odin)
and restarts. It just goes to the Samsung galaxy mega screen (first one) then it vibrates twice and reboots again. NOTHING FAILS THO.
and suggestions for me ?
Flash each ODIN file one at a time. The AP file and the BL have a PIT built in, so you shouldn't have to manually parse it.
FYI I was able to obtain root on my SGH-I537 and I'm now trying to export that method to the SGH-i527, but it's proving to be difficult. Will keep yall posted!

The Mega other than Root is Dead.
No bootloader unlocked and No One is working on it.
I myself have moved to the Nexus 6.
I still have the Mega rooted only for the big screen but out of all the Mega forums.
and I will not see your reply because I'm will not subscribe to any Mega forum.
My advice, keep the mega rooted if you like but move out to other phone.
Tha it no more lov for the mega
i think the most important downgrading is DONT TICK REPARTITION.
becaus will make your phone hardbrick and doestn have power at all
and knock bootloader is never cant be downgrade
Please Update the link of the twrp recovery and knox off
My SGH i527 Galaxy Mega from ATT is bricked after trying to update to KK. I have a bootloop on Samsung Galaxy Logo. Now I don't have recovery. The only thing I can to do is to get in Download Mode.
I can't get back to JellyBean. I have tried using Odin to Flash Many recoveries but everything failed. Please, help me, I am tired of seraching and downloading ROMS and customs recoveries for nothing......
PLEASE, I just need a recovery and AnyRom that Can work ....
Thank you in advance.

Root Acer liquid z500 HELP!!!
Hello, I will three days trying to rooot the acer z500 without success, someone help ??
I've used all root programs but nothing, I tried but there is not much information, not already know what to do
thank you very much
You need to use SP flashtool for this
device. With that tool you flash recovery.img (cwm recovery) and your phone can be rooted via cwm recovery by flashing supersu.

Hi there,
For all Z500 owners only:
I rooted my acer z500 by first flashing CWM recovery, and then flash supersu (.zip) via the new CWMrecovery
Here's the links to the filez:
recovery.img: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ic6uadwvxf071d8/recovery.img?dl=0
scatter file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qzcnqzlxkzy5wx2/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt?dl=0
supersu: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zv59bw7bj0ygush/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.13.zip?dl=0
Furthermore if you disable zram (from install-recovery.sh) you will gain additional speed.

Why didn't you used my files ? (which is the purpose of this thread BTW)
Using auto generated files made by MK Droid Tool is not bad, but using updated Recoveries is a little better I think (like CWM 6 and the Carliv one)

Hello to all! I recently got an Acer Z500 and im loving it! This is my first MTK phone so maybe its a stupid question but why isn't there a specific section on xda for this phone? Is it because of the MTK SoC, or lack of community? Latter would really surprise me since the phone is practically free(considering hardware specs) where i live!
This method doesn't works with my Z200, my computer doesn't recognize the phone i have already installed the drivers but it's doesnt works at all how can i root my Z200?
Thanks.
