I'd like to connect my youtube account to my wife tablet but whitout it ads my account to account section whit sync support. I know I can go to account settings and uncheck what to sync, but its not the thing I really like..
I have tryed to make an app password in google, but when I try to login it says I need to use my real password. Is there some other way to connect only my google youtube account to my wife tablet whitout all the sync support what it will add?

This has been a bit frustrating.
When you go through set-up, it gives you the option of adding a Google account which is necessary for using Market. But it also syncs your e-mail into the Gmail app and syncs your contacts. I don't want either of those because my Exchange has both contacts and I want to use the HTC mail widget for my Gmail.
I have tried various ways to prevent this from happening, but all have failed.
1. I went through set-up connecting to wifi and adding my Gmail. Then I went to options and removed syncing. But my e-mail and contacts are still in the Gmail app.
2. I did not connect to wifi so that I can first go to options and removing syncing, but that didn't help.
3. I created another generic gmail account just so I can use it for market. However, now that account is connected to my GTalk app instead of my normal account.
So here is my goal:
Use my everyday Gmail with GoogleTalk app, but without it syncing my Gmail contacts or my e-mail with the Gmail app.
Is there any way to do this? Am I missing something? Can you go to the syncing options without actually setuping the Google account first?
Thanks for the help.
Also, while we are on the topic:
What is the main difference between the two? I keep reading online that the Gmail app is supposed to be Push e-mail, but I have also read just as many posts saying it doesn't work or it doesn't do that.
I figured out a solution:
1. Go through set-up and connect to Wi-Fi, but do not set-up a Google account. Skip it.
2. Go to Settings>Syncing>Checking Auto-Sync and Sync in Background
3. Settings>Add Account>Google Account
And here is where you need some fast fingers...
4. Settings>Check Sync in Background and Auto-Sync and quickly click on Google Account you just set-up and uncheck Sync Contacts, Calendars, and E-mail.
I was able to uncheck e-mail sync, but it had synced some of my contacts already. That wasn't a problem b/c I haven't set up my Outlook account so I just deleted all the Google contacts it had synced. But I was fast enough where I didn't let it sync Gmail account.
Now no e-mails in Gmail app and I can use Google Talk.
Can not sign into Google account needed for Market. Though Accounts & Sync, Add Account. I can only use an existing account, and when I try to log into my Google account it errors out with 'Unable to open connection to server.' I am connected to Wifi, I can go and set up a google email account using same account and every thing works as it should. I do notice that when I go into the inital set up screen it says 'Add an Exchange Account' Any ideas??? CyanogenMod 7.1.0 RC1 smb a1002, pershoot kernel, GAPPS-gb-20110828-signed.zip. Everything else functions properly, just can get Market to work. Oh I have tried all of the Market fixes, but still need to log into a Google Account. Any ideas??
Hi There, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get contacts from my google account into my phone.
From what I have read on the internet I should be able to go into Contacts>Menu>Accounts and sync my gmail. But google isn't an option apart from facebook and hotmail. When I go to 'add account' its not there either.
I am able to log into market using the google account so I don't see why its not showing up.
Thanks in advance for any replys
I had a problem with setting up my Google a/c when I first got my phone, factory reset fixed it.
Try to remove an account through the pc - to activate again
Im sorry how could I do that?
Was trying to sync the device directly to my system in order to transfer pictures from the handset to desktop. However when I failed to do so, I decided to directly mail the images through gmail and synced my account through the gmail app. Now i find that the app directly opens my email account every time without any confirmation/password etc. and this can be seen by anybody (my friends handle my phone a lot). I am struggling to remove the account completely (when I go through settings/accounts and sync/manage accounts and press remove account I am asked to restore to factory settings) Is there any other way to unsync it?

You can use this one https://market.android.com/details?id=com.sp.protector.free
This way you will be able to protect each app you want.

Just download app lock software from Google play n lock the apps with password or patterns which you don't want anyone to open...
But you can't remove your gmail account without Factory restore...

Hello crew,
So I have my HTC One working fine, but today I noticed something that sporadically I've been noticing very much: every time I enter the Account Settings, I notice that there is always a Sync Error on my Google account. I only have one Gmail account added on my phone and everything else (twitter, tango, WhatsApp...) seam to all sync just fine.
I've tried troubleshooting this in the past but no luck. Here's what I have enabled on my Gmail account Sync:
App Data, Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, Drive, Gmail, Google Currents, Google+, Google+ Auto Backup, People Details, Sound Search for Google Play and Tasks. All seam to be working just fine.
Any suggestions or ideas on how to clear this error?
Note: I have a virgin phone: no unlocks, no root, no 3rd party customization.

Did you ever get this fixed? I am having the same issue with Google Account showing a sync error all the time.

I have seen this on my HTC one after flashing a nandroid more that a few hours old.
Deleting the gmail account and re-adding it fixes it for me.
try removing your Google account and then reboot and readd it again.
Im having the same issue as of yesterday
Edit: Found how to resolve this.........http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42257807&postcount=7
On you PC go to: https://www.google.com/settings/dashboard
Under Account -> Connected applications and sites
Delete all HTC ones by clicking the revoke button on the right side.
Remove your account under sync under your phones settings.
REBOOT
Re add your google account
