[Newbie question] 4K, Slow motion video - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just bought a Xperia Z2 and installed CM11, but I don't know if I can I still record 4K videos or 120fps, and if possible, how can I do it? Do I need an app or something?

120fps doesnt work at all but 60fps is posible
Edit the media-profiles.xml in /system/etc
Also 4k i havent bothered with

What configs should I edit? I've tried by myself fut I got bootloop...
And why isn't possible to use 120fps?
Any special gallery or app to watch it in Slow Motion? If you want, I can attach my media-profiles.xml

Not sure why 120fps doesnt work
I used xplore to edit, see the screenshots, leave the quotes intact and just edit the numbers

Maybe it's related with the bitrate, the resolution or the codec; on stock, 120fps is only available on 720p, I don't know about these things but many thanks.
Now how can I see the video in slow motion? And it's possible to create a custom profile for 60fps?

[MOD] Camera_Mod Bitrate/FPS/Image Quality - 7|27|14

This mod only contains modified values to media_profiles.xml, We have already seen this posted but they seem to no longer work so im posting one here :good:
Suggestions for improvements are helpful, Some of these values ive tested a bit higher but this is a good starting point
I am not responsible for dead phones/bricks or any sort of bad thing this mod could ever cause
Things You Need:
Rooted LG G3
File Manager with root access (i use ES File Manager)
The MOD
How To Install:
Extract the ZIP
Use a file manager to Copy/Paste & overwrite the media_profiles.xml to the "/system/etc/" directory
Make sure the media_profiles.xml has permissions set to "rw- r-- r--"
Reboot
Current Features:
4K bitrate increased from 30mbps to 40mbps
Image compression set to 100
1080p bitrate increased from 30mbps to 40mbps
1080p FPS increased 30fps to 60fps
I will be uploading both the MOD & Stock zips
I have not tested the flashable zip
confirmed working with LG G3 D855 v10e-EUR-XX.
no crashing while recording but showing (in windows and sony vegas) only 30fps instead of 60fps on 1080p.

Also the bitrate in the file still says 30mbps for 1080p. I changed mine to 40 and it works all right. But I don't understand why it's still taking video at 30 fps despite the file clearly saying 60.

EDIT: yeah, i re-uploaded it.

I never used slow motion before.
I set it to slow motion video after this mod.
I recorded something.
Played it back.
It was normal speed. Is there a setting I am missing?
I will go back to original later and check the result then,

Well you can record slow motion and in the gallery playback multipule speeds
When copyed to a pc, you can see it plays @120Fps and isn't in slow motion
It looks like the only way to slow it down on PC is to probably use video editing software, unless there's a way to do it in the gallery before copying it over

I had the same problem, but I think i forgot to set the permissions correctly. Did you change the permissions after moving the new file in to /etc?

Note8 can be used to record 4K 60fps [ video ]

Hi guys !
i just watch youtube and found someone who can record 4K with 60fps
this man said lgcamera+ app and custom script can record 4K with 60fps , he mentioned the author is RubberBigPepper .
does anyone know how to do it ?
(sorry for that can't get youtube link in by system)
There's this app that lets you record 4K at 60fps with the native Samsung camera, but it requires root. So, it's been possible to do that for a quite a while now.

I don't use the mod, no. I just know of its existence. There isn't much the mod offers me that I'm interested in or deem worthy enough of the price tag attached to it.

You're right. I misread a little and made a mistake. It can do 60fps at QHD (2560x1440), but not 4K.
I guess that means our cameras can't do 4K60fps, after all. That's fine, though, I don't care about 4K recording. Up until now I always did 720p. I only decided to start doing 1080p recording since I got my Note 8.

Can't shoot 4k on LG G5 with 3rd party camera apps

I have unrooted LG G5. I downloaded 3rd party camera app (Open Camera) because it has manual video controls only to find out I can't shoot 4k with that app. There is option to chose 4k resolution, but video ends up 1080p. Would rooting the phone help?

I don't think rooting your phone would help , but that's wired because I haven't this problem with my Next it Robin ( 4K camera too ) , see the screenshot :

Did you check if it is really 4k? (While on the video in gallery, tap details, resolution should be displayed there). I have the 4l option too but it saves the video as 1080p.

Ho , I figured out what was wrong , I was using the camera in photography mode . In video mode , our phones aren't powerful enough to support 4K videos. It is the case for every phone that supports 4K .( Edit #1: every phone I know)

Yes.
I think the only way to "solve" this is to contact the developer of the app.
Thank you very much for your time!

Well when I watching c4etech's QNA with jay mani, he asked him about 1080 and 4k 60fps
So he replied we see if it really required to users, then we will work on it
No doubt sd845 supports 4k 60fps.
But at least they should provide 1080 60fps. Maybe in coming updates we will get this
I tested a few camera apps, and no one is recording at 60fps unless you try to get 60 fps..... really annoying.
Hope they fix or add this feature soon....
Thanks!

P. S 4k 60fps looks awesome! Since you can't record it but you will get idea in preview
Now they're responding to requests on Twitter. We should let them hear our problems. Post it on Twitter and report a miui bug

Hi!
Unfortunately final quality is bad - the video floats and very much visible convex jelly-effect.
Tried so many app for video-shot and all of them hoot video almost the same as a stock camera.
Relatively good filming video(with EIS) the Open Camera app, but only at daylight and at FHD 30 fps only.
Looking for some other camera app...
