[Q] Why can't I uninstall bundled apps? - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I'm using titaniumBack on a fully rooted device yet everytime I reboot after uninstalling, the devices come back. Even if I manually delete the apk's from app or priv-app, they come back.

I resolved this by installing CM12 :good:

[Q] ADB App mods not working

Ok I have a problem. Kinda big. I make a mod to the drawables in res folder only for some apps, using adb to pull and push them. When i push them, the mods work perfectly until I reboot the phone, and then they don't show up in app drawer or manage apps list, so i can't uninstall them and putting the modded apk's on sdcard to install returns "Application not installed". What am I missing?
Please help me....This is making no sense at all.
Hmm if they are non-system apps then you may need to sign them to install but I don't think they'd work via push either.... Not sure what the problem is...

[Q] Planning to uninstall Maps

Hi,
I am currently on Galaxy S2, Gingerbread 2.3.3, and am planning to uninstall the System app Google Maps using Titanium Backup.
For now I will use a third party app (Sygic). However in the future I may want to install it later, but if possible I will choose to install it as a normal app instead of restoring the system app.
Questions -
1. If I remove Maps, will it affect any other part of the system that you would like to caution me about?
2. If I replace the system app with normal app, will I be able to upgrade to next version of android whenever it's rolled out for my phone?
You may just freeze it...
But as I know, there is no problem after removed it from system. I've my maps removed as system as well and installed with Burt Maps which Is non-system app.
PS, if you installed custom Rom, you won't get official update anymore.
Won't effect system upgrade.

[q] few questions before factory restore

My android is causing some problems. I am planning to factory restore my phone.
I have a few questions...
I have purchased lots of apps from Google play store. I do not want all the apps to be downloaded. How can I prevent all apps from getting downloaded to my phone?
There is a firmware upgrade waiting to be installed right now. is it possible to delete the firmware? I do not want to put that on my phone....
Re-downloading Apps
It has been my experience that only those apps that were actually installed on the phone are automatically re-downloaded. So, you could go to Settings, Apps, ALL, and uninstall those apps that you don't want to be downloaded after you restore. It might also be good to reboot after uninstalling, and before restoring.

How about purchased apps? I do not have any purchased apps installed on my phone (just purchased). I do not want them to be downloaded.

[Q] System apps keep coming back after removal

I have unlocked the bootloader of my new AT&T HTC One 64 GB, installed CWM and rooted.
When I started my phone, google play stated that there were updates to a lot of apps (like Chrome, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon kindle etc) which are all system apps. So I went ahead, updated them. Then as usual, I went to titanium backup and integrated the updates into rom/system. I cleaned Dalvik and cahce. When I restarted, google play said again that the same apps are out of date and wanted to re-update them. And sure enough when I checked versions on them, they were the old ones.
So decided to go the "make these system apps normal apps" e.g. move them out of the rom to data, update, move them back to system app directory. Same problem here, after a restart old versions in the rom showed up again.
Then I decided to un-install the apps. When I un-install them through titanium backup, after a restart they are back.
Like a bad nightmare.... Any ideas?

Same for me :
My ATT HTC One is unlocked and rooted already with CWM no-touch installed.
I installed ES File explorer as well as Titanium Backup Pro and gave both root privileges when they asked for them via Super SU
I can "Uninstall", via titanium backup, all the bloatware apps but when I reboot they come back.
Similarly, through ES File explorer I run the root explorer section and choose to uninstall system apps. I then successfully remove the bloatware, but it again comes back upon reboot.
Are there any other methods I can try or any successful bloatware removals for the One from anybody here? Is it a matter, as another thread about the Incredible suggested, a matter of the kernel not allowing writes to the /system while running? If so, how do I remove bloatware from Recovery?
Thanks!
any we need a kernel that allowed writing to the /system to stop this htc added some new code
It's because the kernel does not allow the /system partition to be modified. You need to flash a kernel that has the security disabled. I'm running the Renovate rom from the Intl One forums and that kernel has security disabled and works fine on the AT&T version

[Q] Google Play Store Force Close on LG L70

So I'm having issues with the Play Store. It keeps force closing when I try to launch it. I've rooted my device, installed Superuser SU and updated it as well. However, when I try to launch the Play Store or even update my apps, it keeps crashing. I've tried clearing cache/data and force stopped it with a reboot. It still does it. I've tried uninstalling the updates and rebooting, still happening. I even downloaded the updated APK for the store and it will open but then if an app tries to update, it'll close.
I even went so far and did a factory reset and it still does it.
It kind of sucks because I'd like to be able to download apps, etc.
Any clue/ideas what I can do?
I'm using LG L70 from MetroPCS

just change the apk with latest one in /system/app
make sure to delete the first apk and rename the app name to 'phonesky'
reboot

first you have to mount r/w . you can find this option under menu under root explorer option . and mount r/w and then delete the app and you need to be rooted for that
