Hi folks,
I'm using the tablet in conjunction with the above headset but more recently since updating to the latest firmware (which included DSEE X etc), the tablet will only recognise these as a microphone.
I'll try downgrading tomorrow but has anyone experienced the same thing?
When the headset is plugged in, a little mic icon appears in the notification bar and sound continues to come out through the internal speaker.

Hi,
I just got my pair of UE600vi earbuds with a mic and in-line controller.
Everything works as expected (so no volume control), but what I didn't expect was that the built-in mic doesn't seem to work properly. When the cable is plugged in properly I get audio in a call, but the person on the other side of the line says he can't hear anything.. However, if I take the plug out a bit so that one black ring is out of the plug the mic seems to work,(probably because the mic is disabled and it uses the phone mic..) but I only get audio to one earbud.
I contacted Logitech which said that they can do nothing and that it's Android's problem.. However some people say that they've had no problems with apple-optimized headsets apart from the volume buttons.
Is there a way to force compatibility?

Same here, I've got a great sounding AKG K328 headset on an Asus Fonepad (Android 4.1.2). Everything is working fine, I can assign actions to the middle button, I can use the button to answer a call, but the microphone is not working at all
Judging from the symbol in the Status bar, the headset is only recognized as a headphone (without mic). The mic is working on an iphone, though.
Any ideas?
Hi Guys,
i have problem with my sgs2... few weeks ago i've damaged my phone by pluging headphones jack to soundboard with phantom (48V) turned on...
So now my phone thinks that the headset is connected all the time and when i make a call, sound and mic is going thru headset even if its unpluged, so i can't hear anything from speakr and microphone is turned of...
Now i'm running on CM9 experimental build - so i can't use app toggleheadset2 like before on CM7.
Is there any way to do software headset "unplug", e.g. to use terminal to route signal thru phone speaker and mic?
Thx
There goes my first pos heret:
Recently I have bought an international SGS3 branded by T-Mobile and it is currently running I9300XXBLFB (ICS 4.04). Some time before that I have also bought a Belkin headphone adapter. What it does is that it basically provides a microphone and a standard 3.5mm jack port for the headphones of your choice. It also has a small 3button Apple like remote (answering button and +/- loudness controls). Good idea for someone who loves his headphones, which don't come with a microphone. It also comes with a TRRS ending typical for Apple.
The adapter worked ok on my Samsung wave with a TRRS switch (loudness control of course didn't work at all, but answering did; loudness doesn't usually work on anything but iCrap). It also seemed to work on my SGS3 at first, but without the switch (TRRS layout is the same as in Apple).
When plugged in I get a notification that headset is recognized, when I make a call the microphone works, headphones work and the answering button is able to stop the phone call. When not in a phone call the answering button starts and stops the music player, so again kind of a standard behaviour.
Now the fun part starts when I answer a phone call with the answering button. The call gets picked up BUT the headphone icon at the notification disappears (behaves like the headphones would get unplugged) and the microphone in the headset doesn't work anymore. I also am not able to drop the call and after I drop it with the phone itself the music switch via the headset doesn't work. Detaching and attaching the headset via the 3.5mm port again gives the headset icon back.
I compared it with two other headsets: stock and Thermaltake Isurus headset.
Both of them behave correctly when I answer a phone call. Both remotes work correctly as well, I am able to pickup and drop calls and the headset icon stays where it should.
Anyone has any ideas what may be wrong with the Belkin headset adapter? Or why SGS3 behaves so strangely with this accessory in particular? Anyone encountered this before?
Hi everyone,
Last month I bought a Xperia Z2 and I loved the phone. I had a S2 but it was time to upgrade
But last week something strange happent. My phone is not recognizing any kind of headphones any more. When I plug them in my sound (any kind of sound) still comes from the main speakers. As well the Noise cancelling tool is does not start in the background. I tested the headphones on my pc and the are working all just find (3 pair, normal and with mic). The ONLY way there is coming sound out of the headphone jack is when I install SoundAbout and force my media players to send sound to my headphones. But this is very annoying because I have to reset the settings every time when I want to listen to music on my speakers.
I as well installed different ROM's:
eXistenZ Ultimate
23.0.1.a.0.167
Carbon
Even when I flashed my phone I still have the same problem. So my question is the following. Does someone know how to solve this problem? Because it drives me crazy
Thanks,
Mikhaël
Hello,
I've had Mate 2 for about 6 months. I've had 5 other android phones and feel pretty comfortable with rooting, flashing roms, recoveries and ADB.
When I first purchased the Mate 2 I tried the stock 5.1 EMUI on the Mate2, but I could stand the setup after using CM 12 and 13 on past devices. We use Mightytext for text messaging in our office and for some reason it did not like the stock EMUI messaging app and would not work with a 3rd party app like Textra.
When I tried CM 12 and 13, everything seems to work, particularly Mightytext, except if I'm listening to music or an audiobook with headphones (with and without an integrated Mic.) When someone calls with the headphones in and I remove them and then answer the call, I can't hear the other person and they cannot hear me, but the call definitely connects. If I'm in the car and connected via bluetooth and listening to music, it is not a problem.
Another issue for me is the external speaker does not work with an alarm if the head phones are plugged in. I use Alarm Clock Xtreme which has a setting to play to the speaker even if head phones are plugged in, but that does not work on the Mate 2 (with stock or custom roms.)
While normally not insurmountable, both these issues are enough to really frustrate me. Any ideas? I flashed back to EMUI 5.1 and the headphones and mic work fine so I don't think it is a hardware issue.
Thanks for any help!

While I don't have any answers or ideas, I think I have the same problem as you on the latest CM13.0 snapshot. No audio on calls when headphone jack (I have a small headphone jack button) plugged in. In CM12.1 it was working fine for me though and was possible to use an app called HF Button Widget to change the audio routing to the phone's speaker (while keeping button plugged into headphone jack). Maybe the phone acts like it is hitting mute or silences the audio when the jack is plugged or unplugged? I've had to remove my button and keep my headphone jack empty as a workaround until this is solved or a newer version solves it. Also another workaround might be bluetooth headphones I haven't tried that yet.
