I jus bought this phone - LG G2 Mini

Hello. guys I just bought this phone. I am trying to get a hold of things and threads here.
Are the tools hyelton posted here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725028 are latest versions?
Edit: Also my internal space shows only 4 GB total... 1.4 used, 2.6 free. It should have been 8.

The other 4GB are used by the system (2GB at /system partition, 2GB more at other partitions).

Hey Vagelis. You are a pro of this phone. I have some questions but i will ask after i read couple of things. But how can a 8 GB phone has only 2.6 Gb left when opening the very first time?? 5.4 GB already used??

As I said, 4GB are used by the system and can't be taken back. I don't know about the other 1.4GB.
Also, try factory reset (data wipe).
If your phone is branded, then your carrier could have added some crapware (the useless apps carriers add to branded phones) which may be taking up that 1.4GB. But this is just a guess.

Never mind i did it by experimenting.
Is there anyone who successfully unlocked the bootloader?

Hi there, I have also just bought LG G2 mini and I got a few questions You to ask. I didn't want to post a new thread so I decide to wrote them here. First of all I wanted to root my phone, I'm well aware that TowelRoot app will do the job but my question is, do I need to use SuperSU app after rooting my phone with TwoelRoot app? Can I install Superuser app instead and if not, is there any program that I can use to root via my computer?
My LG G2 mini information:
Model Number: LG-D620r
Software information:
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0+

SuperSU is far better than Superuser app, but you can use it if you want to

@Dradvil
I will walk you through what i have done. It will answer your questions. First i flashed latest KDZ which was 10j i think for Italy. Then i used Purple drake to root it. Which is done by computer as you asked http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54254055
Then i downloaded SuperSU from playstore and done. And yes use SuperSU instead of superuser.
I have done other things too but these are for your questions. I am yet to unlock the bootloader but this phones section is unfortunately ghost town. Only a few power users and developers use this phone. I am really disappointed with sound quality for example

@Pondera
Thanks a lot Bro, I have one more question to ask, can I uninstall Weather and Update Center apps? My uninstall app is showing me these apps are Key module, so I'm not sure that it's safe to remove them.

Weather app is no problem to uninstall at all. If you dont need it just uninstall and get more free RAM. Update center is for LG apps. If you ask me it is better to froze or hibernate but if you wanna get rid of it you can uninstall too. But take a back up just in case.

X10 NEWB! Root Help?

Hi Guys,
I've got a Desire, this white x10 is for my GF. It's running android 1.6, baseband 1.1.25 and is build number R2BA020.
I want to root it. I found a one touch root apk online which says, after running "woot, you're rooted". Personally, I don't think it's done anything.
I'd quite like to get Android 2.2 on here. Can someone help me achieve this?
Thanks

2.1's supposed to come in the next week. Bootloader (the thing that keeps us from loading custom roms) can be cracked at any time...it can be days, weeks, months, or never.

Use the 1 click root, won't damage your apps.

Hi.
You can use Titanium Backup, which is what I use but there others that are recommend too but as Mezzo said the one click root method won't affect your apps.
If i root my mobile does my warranty expires, right? so i wanted to ask how can i "unroot" my device?

Depends how you rooted it, for many of us it's just a click, but if you used one of the old methods then you would have to reflash.

Just got my X10a for ATT. Wanted to use one click rooting, but do not know how to get the app install. Keep giving me message "Install Blocked". Totally new to Android and couldn't find anything on how to install this app.

With the one Click Root - I dont believe us "AT&T users" can Install 3rd party apps...You'd have to root it the conventional way is my guess after reading a couple threads. Chances are, You're better off doing it that way anyways, Then you can Back up your APN's, and get everything working with a completely debranded, Rooted X10a

updating a rooted Galaxy S2 to android 4.x

Hi there,
I have my rooted I9100 (su binary v3.0.3.2) still running android 2.3.4. I think this is time to update to 4.x (JB is the latest available I guess) but after some research I couldn't find the firmware from a trusted source (since I have to perform the update manually due to root). Could anyone help me out? Some instructions would be nice too. Thanks
Sammobile.com (or JB thread sticked in the general forum) and flash with Mobile odin Pro.
Don't wanna pay for the pro version?
Mobile Odin Lite.
It doesn't get any easier than this.

Yes, see @Sun90's post about which apps are safe to remove. And you can use titanium backup (from play store) to freeze/uninstall the apps you do not want.
Edit: gastonw beat me to it..
Freeze the apps first.....in case you mess with something you shouldn't. And make a nandroid before you start....that way you always have something to 'fall back' to if you freeze/delete something that the phone needs to boot .....

thanks @ all. I just found the Root Uninstaller Pro and removed everything I was sure that will not damage the system, like those Hubs and some carrier specific bloatware. Seems to work fine

[Q] Can Note II with 4.4 OTA Be Rooted?

Sorry if this has been covered already in another thread, but I couldn't find an answer using Search.
I really need to be able to store files generated by apps on the SD card, which I know from experience on another device (Note 10.1) KitKat disables. I also know that rooting allows me to install an app that will allow this limitation to be overcome. My question is whether, by accepting the OTA, I will be unable to root the phone. And if so, how?
I'm currently on 4.3, AND3 build.

Currently no way to root stock OTA 4.4.2 for out Note II (assuming you have the locked bootloader. If you're unlocked, then you can just flash the rooted 4.4.2 ROM).

This is indeed a great site, but if the search function were as strong as you think it is, I wouldn't have had to post this thread. (I now fully understand the Q&A subforum, which is a terrific resource.) It's pretty obvious to me now that if I want root, I can't have updated to KitKat!
Now I'm trying to figure out how to root having backdated my build version to MJ9, which similarly isn't all that easy to find.
I hate preaching to the search function, your right. It ain't google. If your back on mj9 use safe strap and safe root. Don't take the ota to 4.4.2

version
4.0.3 (release5a)
kernal version
2.6.39.4

build number
TISU0013410
I am wondering if the all in one works for rooting this device, I have been looking online and have seen a lot of mixed answers, yes, no and sort of.
What I am looking to do is rooting this tablet to install a new OS.
Thanks in advance.

First off yes the all in one will root your tab
Do the rescue backdoor script in the a.i.o
Then apply the notification patch to stop the update notification
You cant flash or install a diff os on these tabs both the sts and xts are locked down tight but there seems to be good head way with booting from the sd card on the sts
DO NOT TRY TO FLASH JB TO THE STS YOU WILL BRICK IT

Thank you so much!
Can you fill me in on what headway or a link for booting from the SD card, I really, really hate the OS this tablet has, but if it is not possible I dont know if I should bother risking it.
Honestly, I hate what sony did with this tablet, especially given the price I paid for it when it came out.
Oh never mind, I found it, http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-tablet-s/general/sony-tablet-s-sys2sd-boot-sd-card-t2818649, it looks like it is just a softboot loader for extra protection, sad I cannot use J.B. , hopefully someone will figure out how to fake an authentic update to get people out of I.C.S.
Oh well, I may as well root it just in case, the modded playstore is at least worth it.
@ragehavoc @dex9mm
What exactly does the modded Android Market / Google Play give you? You cannot download things without payment.
Do you mean, just access to APP's that are only available to certain geographic regions?
I haven't flashed / rooted a device in 3 years. Last two were HTC devices.
For the sake of an example, take me as an idiot, who cannot understand the abbreviated chatter I see everywhere, with no reference to what anything means - could you please point me to 2-3 articles that have a DETAILED list of steps and screenshots for what needs to be done to get the Bootloader sorted, plus everything else, and then flash 4.1 OS?
or, am I stuck on 4.0.3 forever, regardless of root/stock?
Thank you!

The modded play store is where you can see every app or set the device to mimic an other device and see apps that are only available to said device
Do not flash jb to your device you will brick it
Rooting is about all you can achieve

I know that you need root with adb too (someone correct me if im wrong).
You can disable or "uninstall" them by going to Settings > App > App which you want and click on disable/uninstall. But the apks will still be in phone, so they still use some internal memory.

If you want to completely remove bloatware apps from your device then you have to root your device and then use apps like lucky patcher or titanium backup for removing apps. Disabling the apps will not remove them so they are still consuming storage space. So disabling is not very useful.
Why do you refrain from rooting your device??

this is my first android smartphone, i have just jumped the ship from windows phone. Its too early for me to get into rooting and side loading custom ROMs ( its only been 1 week with the new device), though i know the procedure but i am satisfied with what the device has to offer. the only pain in the arse are the bloatwares which holds nearly 500mb of internal space.
also its sad we cant make sdcard as adoptable storage in j500f , otherwise it would have been awesome.
if you suggest rooting is there an app for j500f to be rooted by one click, chain fire bricked my device as the version was old , for the device. also i did root my device earlier but with twrp and supersu which is just too mcuh of work .
also what apps would be best to uninstall bloat wares completely? also can i get a list of bloatwares present in j500f? i need my android clean and free form samsung products. :fingers-crossed:

I understand since its a new phone you are reluctant to root it. But if you want to root it then you can root it with Systemless root flashable zip with the help of twrp. I know it is a lot of work but at present there is no app which can root MM in one click. So systemless root is the best option. If you want i can give you the link of the latest systemless root which will not at all brick your device as i have tested it myself.
No. of bloatware app depends on the country to which your rom belongs for example Indian rom has more bloatware apps as compared to other countries. Your's is of which country??After knowing this i will be able to make a list.

Stable Systemless root zip link -
https://plus.google.com/+LucaDAlba/posts/a4PyLqWARsv
Just download the zip file and flash it through twrp. After flashing the supersu app will appear in the app drawer. The supersu app should appear in the app drawer, if it does not it means something is wrong but most probably it should not happen if you do all the things correctly. If you have any doubt ask me.
Dear xda community, I'm trying to fix my mother's samsung J500FN (6.0.1) and would be willing to root it in order to gain more internal storage space and/or get rid of the bloatware .... A 64 gb micro sd xc is ready to go! I realize that TWRP and SuperSU are useful tools. Do I have to install both to get started? What else should I have installed beforehand? I'm asking because at the moment there's less than 500 mb available. Which custom rom would you recommend? Do I root first and install the rom later? Is there a step-by-step manual I could follow? A nice and easy, user friendly rom would be great as my mom is 75 but delighted to use social media to keep in touch with her family ...
Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you!

Firstable start downloading odin for your pc. Then flash twrp on your phone with odin.
Flash SuperSU with twrp and i would suggest not flashing custom roms but you can always try Cyanogen Rom.
And with root just install an app which can remove any app and there you go! Hope i helped you xD
