Hey guys, need some help,i have KitKat Rom (cyanfox v2.0.2) and i have some major battery issues.I have been running this RoM for quite some time ,no issues. But the last month or so i have been experiencing major battery mood swings (issues) such as :
- battery is at 78% (i.e.) and i reboot the phone ,and now it shows its at 14%
- battery is at 99% and turn on wifi ,battery is at 10% within 15min.
- and similar
Im afraid the battery is damaged or something, usually i would not post questions about battery life, but this is a serious problem, and i dont know what to do.
Need help in any form ?
Buy new battery.
Definitely a battery problem. You could try changing roms but that won't help much.

Hi guys i really need someones help to explain something to me. I not even had a galaxy s2 for a month and i have been noticing problems with it. I flashed different custom roms because i heard having a custom rom is more battery friendly and makes the phone go a lot faster than having the stock rom in. So i went ahead and flashed a custom rom but i have been having problems with the battery. Fully charge it and within minutes of using wifi and browsing in the browser the battery starts being drained like crazy. Anyways i called the place were i got it from and i have send it in to them for an exchange. They said to me they will have to test it first to see were the fault is before they do the exchange. I have to say here that i flashed back to stock rom with the latest firmware using Kies. Anyways they had it for a few days fully charged it and they say that they can not find a fault and they are sending me the handset back. I have to admit being on stock rom the battery does last longer.
Anyways what can i do next and were is it that im going wrong and is it worth sending it to Samsung directly once i get my handset back?
Does it take few days for the battery to settle and get the proper use out of it even with a custom rom or shall i just stick with the stock and just root and use my phone as normal because other than the drainage there is nothing else wrong with it.
Thank you in advance...

hey thanks again JJEGAN for replying but why does everyone suggest to go to custom rom then? and i have display on lowest and i hardly have widgets so why on custom rom my battery gets sucked like crazy? do you think its worth staying on stock rom and just root the handset?
Thanks
ps when you say wipe the battery stats i did do that and charged the battery and still the same so were do i go wrong? could it be the custom roms that i have been using and not let the battery have a few days cycle to adjust to the new rom
Why do you want to root it? The phone is a beast on stock. Save yourself a load of hassle and get timely OS updates by staying stock. Root in a years time when the phone gets old and isn't supported anymore.

Read the battery drain posts stop your apps from draining the battery .
Overnight sleep test with GPS Bluetooth and WiFi off on a fully charged battery target 2% drain per twelve hours . Better Battery stats set to show Wakelocks .
me today checked 2.5 days usage admittedly light use = 54% drain

What do you think the best ROM for battery life is? I've tried checkROM and wasn't too happy with it, due to the fact that the battery drained a lot while playing music - which is one of the main features I use on my Sgs2. Next I moved onto VillainROM, it just wasn't to my liking, as of now I'm on the beautiful HyperDroid-Androidmedia VXD and I'm loving it, I've noticed a fair amount of difference in battery life, 5hrs display time along with a lot of wifi, games, eveything, so I'm pretty chuffed.
I'm going to check out MIUI - but how's the battery on it? I've also heard that it isnt very stable...? If not I'll just stick to Hyperdroid .
Thank you!
I think <insert name of ROM here> is the best for battery life.
Allow the next 10 posters to fill in the gap with several different answers.
I have been able to get out around 36hrs from Gingermod v0.7. the key reason behind this was that i used to switch on data or wi-fi only when i was using it and not all the time. This drastically reduced my battery drain. For eg. i lost only 1% battery during the 8 hrs i was sleeping.

Hi guys,
Since the update via ota to xxlpq (polish unbranded phone) my battery life has gotten real bad.
After 1h out of charge in the morning, I'm down to 70%
While on 2.3 I could get two solid days out of the phone.
Any idea why that may, be and what I can do?

Install BetterBatteryStats, let the phone run for 8-10 hrs.
Then go to the BetterBatteryStats thread on here, read the first page & the last 10 pages which will give you an idea of what info you'll need to post in order for the guys who regularly post to thread to maybe help you out/identify wakelocks which might be causing your CPU to get hammered/battery to drain rapidly.
There are many customized rom you developers section...you should try to change... i've tested many ics roms and usually have a very good battery life!!
Hello there members.
I am using the AOKP ROM from Bezke and its a stable Rom , unfortunately it drains allot of battery in just a hour time, a huge amount of battery life which made me stunned.
Is there a way to avoid this as I am going on a vacation and I want to use my phone allot for filming and making photo's.
Thanks in advance.
install betterbaterystats an c wats causing the drain...we jus cant say anthing wiv out a logcat...
All ROMs are different. On the ROM I use it's fine using CM9 kernel... but you can also try another kernel on it like Siyah. 3.1.2 and 3.1rc6 have been reported to have good battery life (in particular their deep sleep works well). I'm testing the new version now, so can't report on it for another day or 2.
That's about all to suggest... and disable any apps you really don't use or rarely use - because you can enable what you need when you need it (this should also help with battery as won't run them in background).
Good luck.
Read the battery faqs and posts and guides .

install better battery stats, bad ass battery monitor, identify wakelocks , solve them. turn off sync, manual brightness set to low. all basics would save your juice

my phone had FULL battery at about 17:00,it got stuck after 30 minutes(in that point i had about 82%),i turned it off by long pressing the power key.

*if you have any recommandation about other ROM(even if its not JellyBean) i dont mind changing so far the battery will be better.
We have already had multiple topics about this.
If you have problems with a specific rom you should check specific roms thread.
So first of all there is a BBS thread where u get better and more direct help to this problem.
Second if u have this since a flash of Rom or kernel try a reflash (maybe a kind of "bad" flash)
If u want a recommendation for another Rom I can say that RootBox is quite good in battery.
U have to choose if 3.2 (4.1.2) or to newest (3.4).
