Z3v camera samples - Xperia Z3v General

There is a Z3 camera thread, however the Z3v has slightly different hardware. Let's show off results from this camera.
Here are several images I captured with the Z3v:
My parents while out sledding. The snow kept falling but no worries with the water proofing[emoji6] .

Low light, my wife and daughter.

Random car I walked past.

actually they look verygood

I'm in Florida. I usually run these through the quick fix in PS touch. But for you guys these are the processed. The top one is shot in manual full sensor. The bottom quick button auto.

Great looking pics!

Comet Lovejoy through a old Military Night Scope, I had to press the phone's camera to the eye piece of the scope and then snap the picture. The large white dot just right of the "T" is Comet Lovejoy. You can just make out the tail of the Comet if you look real close. In the second one it is the large dot below the "T".
Hard to capture the image, it looks way cooler in person, the tail is very distinctive through the Night Scope in person.

Here are a couple more images. These were edited in snapseed.

GOOOOD

The dedicated shutter button, and the general reviews of sony xperia camera's, was a major selling point for me. I think there are likely others looking for camera samples so I wanted to share a few more.
This first is a food shoot (haven't seen much food samples). Home made pizza!
Another outdoor image.
And one more low light.

I own several high end cameras including the 36mp A7r and have been quite impressed with the Z3v for snapshots. I like the manual mode at usually 8mp resolution. Here is an example of dinner on Friday. Outdoor day or low light night shots are impressive on this sensor.

i've noticed that turning OFF that auto enhance in the camera may actually make it less sharp and may make the pics look a little better...i'm gonna try some tests, but the couple pics i took lead me to believe auto enhance enhances it a little too much lol
I can't take them for ****, lol
Not sure if this is a bug- or maybe a prob w/ this ics rom.. But I just went outside to try a pano shot of my new fence- this was in direct sunlight.. It kept saying "oops, please pan the camera smoothly and try again"... I'm going as slow and smooth as I possibly can!! So then I move over under the deck and try again this time taking a pano pic of my grill and deck.. It's successful.. Duplicated this oddity several times- kept failing in direct sunlight- and working in shade.

You're definitely right about that, I always leave it turned off.
You can always apply the auto-enhance to the image later anyway & then A/B which image you prefer.

pink spot in camera

I got a replacement phone because the headset speaker died on my original one. I don't remember having this issue on the original phone. Can you guys take a picture of a white wall or ceiling in medium light and see if you have this problem. Otherwise I might have to see about another exchange.
Also, it seems that this has been a problem since the i9100 was introduced but I don't remember it before.

that's a light issue, not a camera issue. turn your flash on. besides, when is there ever a time that I need a picture of the ceiling?
(by the way, I checked this on 3 phones, the ones in my signature, and it does it on all 3 phones. Then I turn on my flash on the gs2 (since the other ones don't have a flash) and it goes away. in order not to get it without your flash, you have to be in more natural sunlight)
You've never taken a picture of something white before?
The ceiling is just an easy example.

I have, but if it's outside I don't get this red spot. And if it's inside, I don't get it either if I use the flash. I don't see that as a bug in the camera. My wife is a photographer. This is coming from her. It's the light.
---------- Post added at 10:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 AM ----------
I also just took some pictures of things around the house that are on a white background. like pictures on our wall. I took some with flash, and some without. Now it appears that this red spot for me only shows up if the picture is completely white and I don't use the flash. If anything else is in the picture, it's gone - with or without the flash. Seems like a non-issue to me.
Read up on how to do a white balance for your camera.
As you go further out from the optical center of the camera, the angle which the light makes with the normal to the detector increases. This in turn means that, toward the edges, there's more chance that a light ray will travel through more than one of the colour filters, resulting in a color shift at the edges.
Here, it looks as though the camera white-balance has fixed a colour shift around the edges, at the expense of the center shifted to pink.
Phrases to google if you're interested: "pixel crosstalk", "bayer filter", CFA.
All smaller imagers are prone to this; they're simply too short for the optics to be close to telecentric (i.e. all rays hit detector at 90°). In a scene where there's a better range of colour and lighting, you likely wouldn't notice any problem at all. If you do, then cell-phone cameras aren't for you

Light leaking from top of the screen edge

Hi,
On my prime, light it leaking from the top. This is not visible when you hold the tablet straight in front of you. This is something which I have noticed recently. There is no problem with tablet or display and everything is working fine. My 3 yr old had thrown my tablet ~3 times changes the smooth curved edges to flat ones. I am not sure if this is due to that. I would like to know if this related to screen or casing and if it can be fixed? If I press the area about screen then it covers the lights. So it feels like there is something which has become loose between casing and screen.

Sounds like if i understand correctly the corner of the tablet is pushed in from being thrown? Seems to me that the edge being bent in is causing the screen to lift causing light to seep out. Wouldn't be surpised if the screen eventually cracks from the added pressure to that corner.
If your comfortable with taking the tablet apart i would try that and see if you could possibly push the corner out with a tool or something... or try and get a replacement back for it and change over everything.
Then again i could be completely off lol.... it's late and im ready to get off work and go home :cyclops:
I'm trying to remember where I found out how to open the transformer prime, but if you're interested, there's 2 internal locks you have to click out of place so the tablet isn't locked to it's screen, giving you access to the inside of the tablet. These 2 locks are positioned on the bottom of your prime inside it and are what locks your prime on the dock itself, they're very small. Although if you still have your tab under warranty you could just take it back to ASUS for them to fix it for you, just tell them you have light bleeding.

Here, I actually found a video where this guy opens his up for gps issues, but what matters is he shows you how to open it up, and from there all you would have to do is tighten the screws into position and your light bleeding problem should go away.

3rd Party Camera App.

Bought my V10 about a month ago and while I think it takes awesome pictures (back camera) I am a bit disappointed in the camera software.
Has anyone tried a 3rd party camera app with the V10 and if so, was the picture quality the same as the stock camera and which app(s) did you try/settle on?
I've used Snap Camera HDR on previous phones, as well as tried it on this phone, but I've found the stock software pretty amazing when compared to my past experiences.
What about the camera software is disappointing? For me the Camera is damn near perfect. I only wish it had the ability to change metering modes, and to bracket shots. If they add that it is perfect.
I would like to be able to change the megapixel density. I don't always need a 16mpxl photo. Some times shooting at lower density increase quality on low light.
No date /time on photo. Low light is difficult to adjust for. Photos can sometimes be blurry or Pixelated.
I use Google's camera as an alternative sometimes. Always when I do a pano, LGs camera sucks at panoramic.

Photo can be blurry goes for any photo, I do not see any difference here for that symptom RS

I've taken a dozen or so panoramas, compared to my galaxy s4 no difference, what's your specific issue?
I've found V10 to adjust exceptionally well in low lighting. Even in auto mode.

PX5 Headunit Brightness Level Too low

Hey guys, I have a wondefoo PX-5 Android 8.0 Headunit.
I'm pretty much satisfied with it but as I live in a very warm and sunny country, I almost can't see anything on my headunit as it's simply isn't bright enough.
The brightness is set to the maximum, and i've tried the trick with the "reverse camera brightness" which didn't help at all.
I started this thread on the hardware development as i'm sure it's a hardware "problem", and not software related.
Is there any fix to my issue? Even a paid one like an upgraded panel or something like that.
It hurts too much to "throw away" a 350$ headunit which is OEM look to my car.
Thanks, in advanced.
Try to tint your windows to dim down the light on your car.

If you can take some detailed internal pictures of your unit and lcd panel board, I might be able to suggest increasing the brightness potentiometer (if available.)

The sad part is that my windows are tinted, 85% on the back, 65% on the front, almost doesn't help at all.

LOL, thank you for trying to help, i hope i can take apart the unit tommorow and upload some pictures.
Will quote you again when I have the pictures.
Mine is also a bit dim on bright sunny days, would be good if there is an adjustable potentiometer on the board. I just had my head unit out today, wish I read this before. My unit is has a 8" IPS screen.

crickets
One thing I have noticed is that there is a gap between the glass and the screen, its about 2mm at a guess. I have got a few specs of dust in there already, I don’t know if it makes a difference on how bright the screen looks in sunlight, my phone screen is laminated to the glass and looks brighter.
Turning my headlights off made the brightness increase a lot.
