I created a faulty boot.img file for partition mtd0 and flashed it. Now I'm stuck on the LG logo screen. I have a backup of the original boot image. But how do I reflash it? I can't access from adb shell obviously... Please help. My phone is an LG Optimus S LS670. I appreciate any help.
Take a look on [ROMS] Original LG Firmware list but instead of P500 for search use link for LS670 (....ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LS670) and continue by next steps. It should works.
Thank you for your timely response. I've done what you said but the links appear to be invalid. I made the links below according to this: csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LS670.
Code:
csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LS670/ASPRCQ/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz
csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LS670/ASPRPP/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz
Do I have something wrong here? These appear to be the only possible links. I'm also a bit skeptical of this working. I'll try anything of course. But I say that because windows doesn't seem to recognize the USB device without error. I did, however, find the source code for the LS670. You go here: lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource.jsp and search "LGLS670". Is this for the firmware or just Froyo Launcher? I'm also wondering how, after I compile it, I convert it to the kdz filetype (or is it just a matter of changing the extension?).
Take a look on Preferences => Information about phone => version of software. What version is there? Maybe is different like P500 have (V10x).

I can't do that. The phone won't boot up at all. This is all the information I can get because it's on the back of the phone inside the battery casing: model, fcc id, meid dec, meid hex, s/n, and the fact that it was made in Korea (yay?). There is also a little thing in the corner that is labeled V00E. Maybe that's it?
Update: I checked on my brother's phone which is the same as mine.
Code:
Model: LS670
Android Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: LS670MV9_6040
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #2
Build Number: FRG83
SW Version: LS670ZV9
OK, PM me S/N, I can find right, last KDZ file for your device by this number. You can find it on back under battery.
S/n: 011kpxv0311258
So, you can dwnl: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=A00000284EEC0A
anyway, now I know, why we weren't be able to download kdz - because it simply doesn't exist and it have absolutely different name.... http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGLS670/ASPRCQ/LS670ZV9_20/LS670ZV9_20.S9_20.P60671.cab
I will take a look, how to use cab's...
//Edit:
Ok, I'm not sure with it, but it should work also with .cab in KDZ_FW_UP. Unfortunately I can't test it....
You need KDZ_FW_UPD_EN. Get the stock ROM for your model and boot it into emergency mode. from KDZ select 3gqct then emergency mode and select the patth to your .kdz file. click Launch software update and let it run its course.

I guess that you didn't read whole story... did you?

I downloaded the cab file. You have to change the extension to "kdz" and then when you launch KDZ_FW_UP, the mode has to be set to CDMA. It will successfully extract but it doesn't find my phone.
Code:
[R&D Test Tools Log File]
22:50:02 : Launching SW update
22:50:02 : Unpacking KDZ
22:50:05 : KDZ file extraced
22:50:06 : Files were extracted.
22:50:06 : LGMobileDL Load.
22:50:06 : Port = -1
22:50:06 : Connecting to phone
22:50:06 : PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!
22:50:08 : ===FINISHED===
Well, I took it to sprint and they (luckily) gave me a new phone. Well, I bricked this one as well. Except now I have the stock recovery screen. It works if you set the mode to CDMA and DIAG. Just to let people know. Not sure if it'd work without the recovery screen or not. I never tried it ironically, haha. Thank you guys.
No luck
Currently my phone boots to either the LG splash on normal boot or black screen when going into recovery mode.
When I follow the steps from either screen this is what I get:
14:32:22 : Launching SW update
14:32:22 : Unpacking KDZ
14:32:57 : KDZ file extraced
14:33:08 : Files were extracted.
14:33:08 : LGMobileDL Load.
14:33:08 : Port = -1
14:33:08 : Connecting to phone
14:33:08 : PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!
14:33:10 : ===FINISHED===
I didn't buy it new but the local sprint store is letting me replace with a refurb for $35 so I think I'm headed in that direction unless anyone else has any suggestions. Thanks!
Its better to spend 35$ than wasting months on a brick.

Try this: http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-roms-hacks/52145-how-unbrick-your-phone-using-kdz.html
You probably just have a bad driver. I would uninstall all the drivers for the phone. In device manager, you'll find them in three sections: adb interface, usb, and modem. Then reinstall them from LG mobile update without your phone plugged in. Hope all goes well.
If it doesn't go well, go to sprint and tell them it messed up when you were accepting an OTA update. Or just pay $35...
help for you
Hi
If you haven't solved yet your problem.
I had the same problem and i tried the same prg like they recommended you but with no luck
so here what you can do:
1. you download the update program from lg's official site, and it will flash your phone with the official firmware
or
2 you reset your phone like this:
- remove battery, put it back
- press home+volume_down+power_off and count slow until ten, its better then actually wait cuz you will let go before 10 sec believe me )
but you loose everything on the phone memory i hope you have a backup.
Hi,
I just got a verizon LG G3 V985, and before I root it and add custom Rom, I would like to flash it to pageplus. I am on pay as you go plan, and thus pageplus sim card will not work. I know how to flash the phone, but the only problem is I am not able to connect this phone to DFS or QPST.
I have the appropriate drivers, and I see my phone connected to COM ports in device manager. However for some reason, neither DFS nor QPST connects to the phone. I am on windows 10 and lollipop 24B.
Thanks for any help

Same problem to me, LG G3 D855 Lollipop v20w, (Its lollipop fault!!) when i used the tool Lg one click root aparently everything is fine but it erased my Imei and when a try to repair with QPST don't connect my phone, so I used another program named EFS Professional but still don't let me do it, appear this message, dev/ block/platform: denied permission... which means: "the root process was wrong", so I'm going back to kitkat 10a and try the whole process again.
Try to used EFS Professional and if it say the same to you maybe is because it is a root problem cuased for lollipop version.
Sorry for my bad english
I have LG G3 Sprint LS990. I changes it's model number and it was working perfectly. But suddenly I flash Galaxy S5 ROM via TWRP recovery and the phone got HARD BRICK. I tried to flash via LG Flash Tool with TOT and DLL file but FLASH TOOL says at 9% Check your model number ( I have model number LG G5 in G3 SPRINT BUT I HAVE DLL AND FIRMWAER OF MODEL L990) ( i HAVE ALREADY EDIT DLL FILE BUT NO LUCK) Still flash tool says check model number. So now what can I do to FIX LG G3 LS990. I think OCTOPUS BOX will fix this. And what you say about FIX it. The phone can only go to DOWNLOAD MODE.
buy a brand new motherboard and put back on
Change the device name in build.prop to Apple (case sensitive) and u can even flash iOS on it. It just works
LOL ?

Hello,
I'm here trying to get help to solve a LG L65 D280n with the null IMEI problem.
I'm hopping there's no problem with the hardware as it was working ok and didn't fall or something else. It just got that way and it was nw unlocked some months ago.
Well, I've 1srt search and follow many youtube videos and read a lot of threads.
At 1srt I've tried to use official software form LG. LG mobile tool and drivers.
I download and install them everything goes well, phone is detected and after usb connection the firmware download started.
Problem was, after the point that it decompress the firmware and it was supposed to start copying it to the phone, the LG app just hangs with the windows error as it stops responding.
Using a machine with Win7 Pro x64.
From this saved the LG kdz file and the dll file that was downloaded.
I can't get another because the links from:
http://redirect.viglink.com/?format...g-phone-firmware.com/firmwar...-Tutti-50.html
are broken to the Europe/Portuguese version A or B of this phone that was original from MEO/TMN
Then I've tried another LG tool, older I believe. It requires qualcomm software, visual c++ etc.
All went well until I've selected a com port at the QPST configuration and then at the RF NV manager were I would try to write the IMEI it fails.
I select the COM port I've added before at the QPST configuration app but when I select the READ from phone option it just returns error ... DM command 19-24.
I was hopping to flash the modem only or to write the IMEI manually but its getting hard to solve the communication problem even after trying in different computer and with 3 version of drivers and software.
Recovery mode only shows if I wanna do factory reset, I did.
Can someone help?
Tried also EFS Professional now using Qualcomm NV tools, I can select the phone COM port but if I try to connect to it with 000000 Send SPC option on, It returns error, unable to send SPC to the phone.
Hi everyone,
I followed this tutorial:
http://www.repairshopusa.com/phone/lg-k7-k330-unbrick-method/
to unlock my LG K7 to all other providers since I live in europe and this mobile phone was bought in USA (TMOBILE).
Software version was 33011g (or smthn, g was the last character)
LGUP notified me the flashing was COMPLETE, but now my mobile phone wont turn on at all, doesn't respond to power button (or recovery mode), but my laptop plays the usb sound when i plug it in, still no sign it's alive.
Help please.
Couple of questions,
can the phone be saved?
can i restore it to its original firmware without original file (all .kdz's on the forum for K7 have a different character at the end of software build: h, j, k and mine is 33011g.)?
can it be unlocked if the above answers are positive?
Please help, this is an emergency case.
