you need at least twrp 2.7.1.1 to flash CM as instructed on their web page for the M7
your phone is a sprint CDMA variant, you can't flash the At&t rom on your phone, only use roms and recovery for the sprint variant (M7WLS)

You know that there is much newer versions of cyanogenmod than 10.1.3? If you don't want to use nightly builds, there are some CM11 snapshot versions that should be stable enough.
for the Gapps, just search for gapss CM10.1 in google and flash the zip from custom recovery

[Q] Galaxy s2 Cyanogenmod installer help!

Hi I'm getting a Samsung Galaxy S2 this week and I'm looking forward to installing Cyanogenmod using their installer. But I want to know whether the Cyanogenmod installer will install the latest CM11 ROM on the Galaxy S2 or do I have to use ODIN and flash CM11 manually?
I want to do it the most safest way as possible without bricking my phone, I would appreciate your help, Thank you
Also the CM website says latest version of CM installer for S2 is CM10.2? Does that mean I can't get CM11? Thank you.

Cm11 installer will install one of the stable snapshots of cm11 (last time I used it, it installed the m10 snapshot). I'm not sure if they changed it to install the m12 snapshot (latest) but if you really want the most recent snapshot build, you should use cwm. The cm website for the installer hasn't been updated for a while (someone should lodge a ticket or complaint). As long as you follow guides step by step, you should be fine.
Odin is not the official way to flash cm11 as cyanogenmod use zip files which are designed for custom recoveries such as clockwork mod (cwm).
Thank you very much for your reply I wouldn't mind installing through CM installer if it at least gives me the latest stable version. However I might try to manually flash it. Can you give me a link to the best guide available to flash CM on i9100? If its possible

Hey one more question is it possible for me to let the CM installer do everything by itself like rooting, installing custom recovery on the S2 and then later can I install the latest CM rom by myself? If you know what I mean

Thanks sir for the quick reply, I have unlocked the bootloader of my phone (MOTO E Dual SIM).
I want to ask the following before flashing the ROMs in my phone; please help:
1. What does official and unofficial mean?
Does it mean that the OS is released from MOTOROLA and unofficial is the created ROM by members of XDA or others.
2. Do we have to root the phone first and then flash the CM11 before installing CM12 or CM12.1
and is CM12 a stable ROM like CM11?
3. What is the use of going from OS 5.1 released from MOTO to home made CM12.1?
4. And which CM12.1 should I install as there are lots of CM12.1 available online, pls give link....
regards

1. Official means that the ROM will be supported by the CyanogenMod Team so u will recieve daily OTA update contains with bugfixes and new features, custom ROMs not maintained by the Motorola or any device Manufacturers, custom ROMs like CM12.1 provided by CyanogenMod Team and The ROMs for the specific device's are maintained by our xda Devs, if u unlocked your bootloader and rooted your phone already yout warranty automatically void, so u lost the support from motorola, motorola only updates on stock rom that comes with your device out of the box, this custom ROMs nothing related to motorola
2.some phone bootloop when flashed cm12.1 directly above stock rom, so flashing cm11 first and flashing cm12.1 then solves it, CM12.1 is fully stable,
3. Going from stock rom to CM12.1 the use is u get more tons of features that stock rom not provide you,
You not need to download ota every day, download weekly or monthly, your wish
Don't forgot to flash gapps with the ROM

The problem with this guide is that the download "mfastboot-v2" after downloading does not show any file or is corrupted.
Secondly in step 4 it says "copy it into the root of your internal memory" Where does it want to copy the files on PC or on mobile's root.
Thirdly can't understand point 9.
"Press power button and do swipe to unlock to get your touch working again!
As Motorola released source code for the kernel, @cybojenix has fixed the touch issue, you can skip to step 10 directly!"
THen I tried using the below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2754358
But it is silent how to flash twrp recovery and super user through adb.
Then I tried this which helped me to unlock my phone but is silent about rooting the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2753110
Lastly I am unable to find a time when do I have to backup my mobile OS, is it after flashing TWRP recovery and rooting the phone.
Also I am not sure how to flash TWRP recovery as there is a method saying that I have to install the TWRP manager and give root permissions for installing TWRP recovery but I still have to root the phone.

root help kenzo

Hi guys
Ive just purchased the great kenzo last week
I just wanted to know how do i root my phone
It has 8.0.5.0
I wanted to know is there a way to do this so that i dont lose warranty
Also as i understand i will have to unlock bootloader to do this and for that i will have to place a request with xiaomi thus voiding my warranty
So is it possible to just root and not void warranty
Also if there are any options to install custom roms as well without losing warranty
Any help will be appreciated guys
I am from India
Anybody??
Requesting a bootloader unlock will not void your warranty
It is easiest done in this order:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash TWRP recovery
3. Flash SuperSU to root.

You DO NOT have to unlock your bootloader to flash twrp and then root your phone. Please see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/red...-to-flash-twrp-recovery-unlock-t3473294/page8
It worked very well for me.

I think it will only work reliably on a Marshmallow based rom. So you will need to flash the latest global beta in edl mode.

Where can i find the developer fastboot room for kenzo to proceed with this
All i can find is the global developer recovery ROM which you can flash through updater app in rom
I did download this miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_6.10.13_4869db85f8_6.0.zip from http://en.miui.com/extra.php?mod=rom/download&r=301&mobile=no

Just so that I've got this right..
I install this via edl using miui flash tool and changing the recovery to twrp in the package before installing
And then either i can root that rom or install any other rom
I do not have to unlock bootloader to do this right or install another rom following this?
What recovery would u suggest
Thanks again for ur help mate:good:

I would just flash global rom, unlock bootloader and then you can flash recovery via adb. It's easier.
Just use standard TWRP or Alka.

I used Zcx twrp. It can read the encrypted data partition in Marshmallow and also disable dm-verity in the locked bootloader. You must boot into recovery immediately after flashing the ROM and before booting into MIUI or twrp will be over written.
I have not flashed other ROMs, but I did root MIUI by flashing SuperSU from twrp without any problems.

From what I've read, that is a general problem when you revert from a MIUI mm based ROM to a lollipop ROM. There are several threads on how to solve the problem.
Good luck.

I think you'll have to search for the threads here or on the MIUI forums. I don't remember the full procedure, but I think it involves flashing an older version of the developer ROM before flashing the stable ROM. I have not done it myself. Xiaomi even warns in the MIUI forums that reverting to the stable Lollipop ROM from the LL developer ROM is difficult.
Good luck.

Try flashing, then reboot recovery and flash gapps.
Given that it's 7.1.1, how is it any different from stock rom? They're basically the same thing.

Currently I´m using the latest Evolution rom but my cellphone is getting slow sometimes so Im gonna use another custom rom and test how it works .
Thanks again !
