[SOLVED] The best "STABLE" ROMs for LG Optimus One (GB and ICS) [Constantly Updated]
FIRST OF ALL A SWEET NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS. THIS THREAD IS NOT MEANT FOR FINDING THE BEST ROM OR WHATEVER IN XDA. BECAUSE, THE CHOICE OF ROM IS ENTIRELY DEPENDENT ON THE USER AND SO, THIS TITLE IS USELESS.
THROUGH THIS THREAD, WHAT I MEAN IS TO HELP THE NOVICE USER IN FINDING A STABLE ROM WHICH CAN BE FLASHED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS PHONE
Hi everyone. From these forums, I can find that most of the noobs are finding problems finding a good user customized ROM for our beloved LG Optimus One.
I have tested all (Yes I mean it) the ROMs from XDA, and found only a few stable ones. Hereby I will be listing those ROMs (Stable ones of Gingerbread and ICS only) with bugs if any. All the noobs will be able to find the most stable ROMs in the first few posts over here, as the posts are constantly updated.
Currently the most stable ROMs for our LG Optimus one (ACCORDING TO MY OPINION) are listed below
Guys, please feel free to point out any bugs you have found out in these roms.
If you have come across any roms offering better stability, please share that too.

Gingerbread Version (old Baseband)
Guys, just after rooting your phone and installing the custom recovery, you guys can readily try these ROMs. Nothing more to do . These ROMs will make your phone fly

mik_os' CyanogenMod 7.1.0 (Android 2.3.7) (The first and the best CM7 port) STABLE

Having some minor bugs, but faster than Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 because of preinstalled scripts

All ROMS listed in this Section are based on New baseband. Do not flash these ROMs without updating the baseband 1st

CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC0 Nightlies are the best for me.
You shouldn't write "This is the best GB ROM, this is the best ICS ROM".
Give people the best options so they can choose for themselves.
Putting old and outdated ROMs in the list, like Void Forever and Mik's CM7 is not going to help in anyway the newcomers.
Likelihood of the different roms is entirely dependent on the users. Some like cm7, some like cm9, some like oxygen. It depends on what a particular user need. A user cannot satisfy unless he has tried all the roms posted in this section.
Current Oxygen ROM has still problems reconnecting data when switching from 3G to 2G so I won't write "no bugs at all"

mik's cm7 rom is the best rom for someone who has the old baseband and doesnt want to risk bricking their phone with kdz or lgdmp
so it still is useful
Regarding popdogs123's Oxygen ROM

Do not discount the stock ROMs...I have V20i (graciously uploaded in the forums by yuripg1 as a zip) and have ZERO complains.
I would actually recommend it to any newbie that is looking for stability and does not need too many bells and whistles (other than OC and some tweaks).

There never ever been any stock ROM, better than custom ( especially on O1). Believe me

Wanna kick me out?
In the end, I value stability over features. I think a good kernel is what most people ever need.
I believe you that modded ROMs are "better" (define the notion) but if I get crashes in the middle of a call I'll reconsider using that ROM/kernel.
I'm not conservative, I just hate to wake up in the morning and see my phone has crashed (happened twice while I was testing franco#4) and I missed calls.
No one has the right to decide which ROM is the best...
U might like something i wont...
Also, such rankings and segmentations can discourage a developer...
Each developer works hard to provide us the best, its upto ourselves to decide whats best...

You are running nightlies today because of mik_os, almost half of the P500 git is filled with mik's patches and even Adfad666's roms like A8, N2 are the continuation of Mik_os's sources
popdog123's Oxygen ROM 2.3.2 is now only for new baseband
please do the corrections accordingly
Lewa is a really good ROM. I find it stable enough for day to day use.

I thing this thread should be deleted, or changed as "stable ROMs in my opinion". Some of those ROMs still have issues, which can be consider as major ones for the people who need the features not working properly.
why you guys don't make a poll? we are really interested in finding a stable custom ROM for a daily use. for example now i use NightlyFourE and i'm pretty disappointed because that SD auto-scanning for media content doesn't work! and it's killing me inside because i cannot listen music or watch movies. i've tried to fix the problem(like rebooting, reflashing the ROM) but nothing worked. now, i have to find another ROM much stable and with less bugs. cheers!
Try Oxygen, #void forever or Bytecode's OpenOptimus.
Oxygen has a data bug, I know, but otherwise is a great ROM.

problem solved! apparently there was something inside SD card. some kind of virus or i don't know. Rom is absolutely fine now i'm upgrading at 4.6(NightlyFourE) cheers!

I hawe one question. Witch costum rom is the best for samsung galaxy s3 I9300. It has to be fast, stable and long battery life...?

For me the best ROM is Blekota, its quite good and after this next release is gonna really stable
in my opinion the best rom is cyanogenmod 11
Cynaogen mod by markox89 and archi droid 2.5.3 very,very fast and stabel,both of roms...you wont wrong with eider od these two roms...
I recommend you to try try and try, we all are going same roms, I was told that the Parandroid went well with the drums and boeffla, I prefer those based on stock, last longer, but the custom I like

As for me, a dont care about what android version it is based on( exept gb obviously) i need a stable and a good battery rom to use it daily, just for web surfing, and music while driving. Unfortunately, i really dislike stock samsung interface, so best choice for me is aokp/cm based rom. Now im using hydra h20 rom, it seems to be stable and battery friendly, but maybe i've missed some other good roms to try, so, my question is, what rom will you recommend me( or other users with same aims) to try?

My sister will be using my i9100 for one year in an foreign country. I want to choose the best ROM for her : stable, god battery life and bug free since she can't flash another ROM abroad.
I have seen some lollipop ROM but maybe Kitkat ROMs are more optimized ?
Have you got an idea ?

I'm using official CM 12.1 and haven't found any major bug yet, even if it's nightly. If you want to avoid any kind of problem, I think this ROM will be the best (if we can trust the "stable" status):

For 100% stable, i recommended you to using Neatrom v6.5 which is on JB. is pretty good and stable.
N00b recently obtained a S3, rooted it with Kingo root & need some advice. on how to proceed next...
First of all i would like to point out that i have read several threads here in Q&A and in DEV and i must say the amount of ROMS and possibilities are quite overwhelming. That's why i am posting this Q...
Second: i don't want to switch ROM's all the time, i just want to install one good working, stable & fast ROM without the hassle of adding extra's, removing bloatware, try different kernels/bugfixes etc... It just needs to work.
Also i like to have: a dark layout for the Phone (saves energy and looks much better to me)
As little bloatware as possible , i just want it to be working fast & stable/flawless (i will install the stuff i really need myself via google playstore if possible)
Some Questions
- On my HTC Sensation XE i have 4EXT (with Viper 521 ROM), would this recovery work for the S3 or should i use someting else and why ?
- Which superuser/SU/else should work best with the S3 ?
- Should i use a 5.1.1 or 4.4.4-based ROM ? I have seen various threads and video-comparisons but none of them could convince me (besides the fact that lollipop is too bright & child-looking for my taste)
- Is there a stable & fully operational version of stock Android 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 for the S3 ? And if not which ROM comes closest ?
I would gratfeully receive any advice which ROM i should pick based on your personal experience(s)

Slimkat 4.4.4 is recommended. Light, fast, no bloat and it has the dark mode you are looking for
Lollipop is no good for the s3 but if you are feeling adventourous you can try out either slimLP or dokdo project.
