Gear Manager update - Samsung Gear S

Today, I received an update on my Gear Manager app. Its version is now 2.2.15011799
But I am not sure what's new. Has anyone noticed new features on this one ?

I did not see any update on my GS3 (Galaxy App shows my version is up to date with a older version number). Not only that, now my Gear Manager simply can't connect to Gear App market any more. Good job Samsung. Your software are always a mess.

Not the first time. Kind of expect this kind of quality when it comes to Samsung smartphones.
The very same reason that I no longer own any Samsung phones after the GS3 (and GS2 and GS before it).

Same issue here on a Galaxy S4...it's saying my device is not compatible could it be because I'm on a custom rom and rooted? It already sucks that I can't use samsung wallet because says I'm rooted now this smdh

I'm stock on both my Edge & Gear S. I even factory reset the Gear S & removed/reinstalled Gear Manager.......Now I have no market apps or 3rd party watch faces............Damn......

same error here also...so an update must be on the way.

I saw no Gear update when I checked yesterday.

No, not related to custom ROM. It appears to be an issue on Samsung's server side. And it has been fixed this morning. And the update is still no where to be seen.

Chrome to Phone Wont Connect....?

First of all: Just got a replacement phone yesterday from insurance so I have confirmed this problem on two different handsets.
The problem: When setting up chrome to message at bottom of screen on phone says "error: unable to connection". Chrome to Phone connects fine on the PC End but just not through my phones.
Any ideas would be great. By the way I tried this immediately with the new phone straight out of the box with the same results. Tried clearing the app data. Just not getting any luck with this.
Yeah I sometimes have problems like this with the app.
Are you on a wifi network? If you manage to log into your google account, try to disconnect that account (on both ends) and then reconnect. If all else fails, just try removing and reinstalling until it works. Sorry, this is the only help I can offer, but these steps usually solve my problems with the app.

There is a limited amount of phones that can be attached to this service at any given time... I have no idea how many that is but I have the same issue and mine was caused by phone replacement and flashing roms if you did not disconnect phone properly it will not allow access again....
This is a major issue that google team needs to address especially with the amount of DEVS there out there so this has been a major problem for me as of late... Do not go to extremes trying to get this to work like wiping your phone and the like. Unfortunately all that can be done now is just wait... some people have gotten lucky with uninstall and re-install of the application but its a 50/50 Chance...

I was reading something one time that everytime you flash a new rom it makes you look like you changed phones, so you have to go to Google some where can't remember and unlink that phone from your account. You have to do this after every Rom flash.

I got around that issue by just opening a new g-mail account and attach the chrome to phone to the new g-mail account.

google are refreshing or making the number of devices registered higher. A forum with hundreds and hundreds of ROM swappers are reporting they were unable to connect then a google technician said the process will happen shortly, low and be hold next day hundreds reporting now working again without having done a thing. Yes google say alot but this time they did

Chrome to Phone

Is there a solution to make Chrome to Phone.apk work?
I m sure you have the same problem
Must be an error on Google side
First ou need to install the extension in Chrome, then you need chrome 2 phone installed on your beloved SGS2.
And last you need to have syncronisation turned on on your phone.
It works just fine here. I've had no problems sending text or urls.
I know how to set stuff.... has been used for a long time.
But after 2.3.4 ROM, Error: unable to connect

Its not quite the same, but i use chromemarks, which syncs with all my chrome bookmarks. Not a free app though.

C2P uses Google Talk to communicate with your phone. Open the Talk app on your phone, log off and log in again. This is a suggested fix by Google.

KH3 10 chars
on mine (kh3, snakes) works but links delayed ~10 min or it comes immediatly when I switch my connection between wifi and 3g
i've never had this issue on my nexus one (stock, cyanogen or miui rom) and i'm using c2p since it born
after switching to a smasun galaxy s II the problem come
the strange behavior is that if i turn on both mobiles on the nexus always still work almost instantly (tried to disconnet/clean data/uninstall on both, same results)

The only thing I could think of is that my device is rooted so the app wont let me use it. However, my nexus 7 is rooted and I can still play this game which doesn't make any sense.. any ideas?

If you are looking at the app in the play store you should see device compatibility, if it's not compatible there that could be one issue. Did you side load the app, d/l it from a site that other than the play store? Need some more info.

I downloaded directly from the Play Store onto my Note and have legally purchased the game.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to imply it was cracked, just wasn't sure if it came from a different store other than play, there are many out there. Honestly I have no clue why, sort of like why my Nexus 7 can't install the Amazon Mobile (Store) app but my Galaxy Note 2 can, very odd thing. So again, sorry about any misunderstanding. Did you try to side load the apk file or change something in the build prop?

It's alright man haha. I actually fixed the problem. It was because I wasn't connected to wifi/mobile data and it's one of those games where it checks for a license every time you open it. It was a fail on my part. Thanks for your time though!

[Q] weird Facebook update?

Anyone else gotten a weird update to Facebook this evening?
My app just updated, but not through Play Market.
My version as of now: 2.2.1-g1
It seems like Facebook did an in-app update itself for some reason, though still had to accept the update,
but my gf's version is still just 2.2.1...with no update in Market.

I just got it, at first I did not do the update and then tried to update with the market but nothing was found.
then when I went to open Facebook again, it told me to update again but did a in app update, its very odd.
My best guess is that they changed something in the system that makes it so you have to update and they dont want people to use the market as some people (me) will not update apps but every few days and this is a needed update to make things work again?
Very odd - stopped the first attempt last night, to see if it was for real. They seem to prompt different version updates for different devices. When I click on "menu" before updating, the proper fb app was showing the proper menu screen. So I installed the update. Seems okay for now. But very odd, not to go though the market...

Anyone of you guys NOT running a custom ROM like CM and did anyone get this update notice with side channel installations turned off?
Captured the download? The URL mentioned in the screen points to facebook. But it's a dead one.
I'm having a hard time believing fb is pushing a side channel update for no reason at all and no proper potice. There's nothing new in that package and if it would be required - as stated - it should be in play. It however is not.
The only place I actually found this version of fb on is aptoide. But I never used aptoide and certainly have no installer for aptoide apps.
I havent received a facebook update. I even logged off and relogged in and nothing.

got the same version number as before as well... but haven't found any info about it anywhere...
Which ROM you are using?? I run AOKP JB build 5 and no update yet. None of the tech forums have mentioned about such an update yet.. Smells something fishy..

I received this today with my Galaxy Note 2, running CleanROM ATT 1.5. I said no to it and it disappeared and hasn't come back yet. Doesn't show up in the market either. I also thought it was malicious. Good to know it isn't. I'll get a screenshot of it before I do the update, if it ever comes back.
*EDIT* I found out when it prompts you. It's after you reboot or restart the app. I killed it in JB 4.1.2 using the built in RAM manager and it immediately gave me the update suggestion. Screenshot pending.

Oops.. I also got the update prompt now.. Since its appearing even for clean roms.. this one seems to be an original update.. but why facebook went outside playstore??
might be a security update & lots of people are very lazy updating their apps from the market....

Question Netflix Low Quality (probably since Android 13)

I am unable to get Netflix to play in good quality.
I have checked my plan and connection. Every other device works flawlessly.
I spoke with the Netflix support already but they are unable to help.
I tried resetting the phone and basically any setting that could impact anything.
I haven't tried reflashing yet but would like to know if anyone else has the same problem? It only seems to be in Netflix. YouTube, Amazon and Disney+ work flawlessly. I suspect that it's some issue with the new DRM they implemented but it might something else bugging too.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Just asking -- Is your phone rooted?
(I don't have your phone, but this quality reduction for Netflix is a thing that happens in rooted phones.)
Nope fully stock, newest updates. Also Sony said that it is most likely a Netflix App fault and Netflix said they are check it. This has been weeks ago though. Would like to know if someone has the same issue as me. Might be a global issue or something

Well then this is definitely an issue. Is your device also a XQ-BC52? Or some other Device ID?
Would be great if other people could test if their Xperia 1 III for this issue too.

XQ-BC52 is the Device ID for Xperia 1 III 256GB in Europe. That was my question, but if this issue persists on all of your Xperia Devices it might be non related. You do have the premium subscription though?

Ok, i am on the verge of returning my phone to be honest. Android 13 seems very glitchy to me, the animation of the push notifications are bugged. Phone reception is broken sometimes (Caller can't hear me anymore and I can't call back for 1-2 mins). A lot of other small bugs and weird behavior especially when 120hz is activated.
New Update (61.2.A.0.460) didn't fix anything btw.
Push Notification Animation is still buggy af and Netflix still doesn't play in Full Quality
I have the same model but i don't realized if the Netflix in playing in fullHD or not, I think I don't fully understand your issue.

Download an 1 episode of Ozark if you are more than 800 MB Full HD
Mine is just under 200MB, so def not Full HD

If you go to Settings option in Netflix App, choose "APP Settings" and then "Playback specification" What does it say?
