This is a little bit of a nube question but I've never switched form Verizon before. I recently switched to T-Mobile and the SIM works perfectly with my phone after I modified the APN. Is there any way that I could get the software updates from T-Mobile? And also if there would be a ROM that would be for a T-Mobile S4 that would work with SS on Verizon. Thank you guys for you help. Much appreciated in advance.

Wondering if anyone that has the t-mobile version on att could speak on any adverse effects at all. I'm curious if ISIS wallet still works, provided you have the new SIM card that is. Most info I've seen is about reception which all seems to be good so that's a relief. Has anyone come across any issues at all?
I've got a few days left to return this thing and I'm trying to make up my mind please help!

Usually the difference between ATT and TMO phones by Samsung is the bootloader. It will be locked on AT&T, and has been confirmed unlocked on the TMO S5. When custom roms and kernels come to the S5 you'll be happier if you have the TMO phone.
We need a really organized thread for all the T-Mobile S5 inquires.
I just bought a brand new Verizon S4 that has never been activated on Verizon for $125. I am trying to get it working with a prepaid carrier in the US. I have been reading that it can be done with T-Mobile and ATT but am not sure where to start with this thing. For starters, the Android OS version is 4.3. I know there is an update out for it through Verizon. I can't do the update OTA with no Verizon service. I'd like to get this thing as close to stock Android/Samsung as possible and kill all the Verizon BS and then get it working on StraightTalk, Cricket, SIMple Mobile, or MetroPCS. Can anyone give me a good place to start or any tips. I've flashed ROMs before, changed PRLs, etc, so I'm no dummy when it comes to this stuff. The terminology/technology has changed some since I was messing with Boost Mobile phones. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Try searching.
You will need to ODIN to 4.4.2.
You will then need to root with "towelroot".
The phone should work with most any GSM carrier with the right setting. (T-Mobile, AT&T and Metro GSM).
Which will give you LTE, I can't answer.

I have used ODIN before when working with my Samsung Galaxy Prevail through Boost Mobile so I'm sure I can figure it out. Thanks for the info. I tried searching and found all kinds of different terminology such as SafeStrap and talking about the different bootloaders. It's a little overwhelming, but I'm sure I can figure it out. I did all of my original stuff through AndroidForums and there as a root section with all kinds of guides, FAQs, etc. Is there a beginners guide or FAQ for the Verizon S4?
I have read where I need to change the APN settings to get HSPA+ or 4G LTE with the different GSM carriers. It seems like HSPA+ is the best I'll get and that's through ATT. I'll keep digging! Thanks!
I recently did something similar to this...I brought my Verizon Galaxy S4 over to T-Mobile...works perfectly, Wi-Fi Calling and all.
SO, now I'm REALLY hoping I can take my rooted T-Mobile LG G3 (with unlocked bootloader!) over to Verizon!! Does anyone know if this would be possible? I'd definitely prefer to go with Verizon's PREPAID service on it though if I even can. Anybody have any thoughts on whether or not this should work?
Thanks

Not a chance. Not only is it physically impossible as the T-Mobile version does not have the necessary CDMA technology inside to use VZW's service for talk, text, and 3G, but also because VZW doesn't accept phones from other networks on theirs.
So I recently moved an VZW S4 over to AT&T Go for a friend. So far everything is mostly working fine running Eclipse ROM (VZW ROM). But I am wondering on a few things here as even on global mode with the AT&T Go APN's inserted at best we're both seeing HSPA+ but most of the time it's staying on 3G connection. Text and phone are working fine.
1 ) Should I swap out the NC5 modem for an AT&T one?
2 ) Should I swap out to some kind of AT&T ROM like the Safestrap version of the S4 Google Edition ROM?
Any input would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
Bump so this doesn't get lost.
Another bump I really could use help here.
Heyo everyone! I need help ASAP. I just upgraded to the S7 and I want to give my S4 to my wife. The tricky bit is, she's on Virgin Mobile. I've heard from multiple sources that the VZW S4 is SIM unlocked and therefore, will work with a VM SIM card.
I was told to add a new APN and I follow all the instructions to the letter, so naturally, nothing is working and it's extremely aggravating. I just want this to work. My wife's current phone is an uber-crappy LG Tribute which barely lasted a few months before it went crazy.
As always, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
bump...anyone? Am I the only one experiencing this?
virgin mobile is cdma, and I believe the Galaxy s4 is GSM unlocked only
