Hello. I recently bought a L1520. Before I had a Moto X. I wonder if there is any app on WP to act as the Android gamekiller.
no... all apps in windows phone store is encrypted and hacking is impossible... WP oS is build for security and protection from hacks and viruses... this not open system as android...
but "hacking" is possible only if you have developer unlocked device, app installed to SDcard and read install files from hidden system folder on SDcard. is not easy for all users and many restriction about that but possible... btw. talking about hacking pay apps on forum is forbidden...
you can find xap dev and install it.

I used to xap dev. I would like something better
I don't know about the capabilities of "gamekiller", but if you use an SD card and WP8.1 you can edit the storage (or possibly even binaries) of apps on the SD card. The restrictions on the app folder make it a bit tricky but you could probably bypass them. I don't think anybody has built an automated tool for that, though, the developers working on this stuff are mostly interested in more practical hacks.
If you want hacks for games I can give u hacks of some about 52 games like subway surfers, temple run 2, major mayhem etc.

I'm mostly a business user and neither Android or WP7 can fully do what poor little 6.5 can do as of now.
I did search this & saw in a link in:
HTC Leo: HD2HD2 Windows Phone 7HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A and General
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=922030
but I thought that since 6.5 would have to be ported to an SD card, this topic shoould be in HD2 6.5 section? So I thought I'd start a thread here for any news or updates....
I know Cotulla/DFT is working on it. I would imagine there'd be a great interest in this. I personally can't wait.
Also a Question:
If/when it is ported, would a ROM have to be specifically made for each port i.e. Dutty ROM or KWBR ROM or would you be able to drop any ROM onto SD card?
I guess with 300,000+ subscribers I'm the only one....

No, man. I also eagerly wait, but i will be patient to wait, unless I can give a hand and help the devs

I'm sorry if i come off as impatient. I'm really not. Just thought if the interest level was high, it would be more likely to happen sooner. I'll live just fine with what i got until it happens.
Me too
Would be great.
"poor little 6.5 can do as of now"....
well in my opinion it's not., my 6.5 is a BEAST! thats why i didnt switch yet to wp7 or android.. winmo 6.5 is the main source of everything stable and fast.. without it there will be no wp7 and android on our hd2..
Hi, I also would like this to happen, as i have inported WP7 to my HD2 which is good but lacks good apps.
As for WP7 im looking for a good sat nav like Tomtom and Copilot live 8, but they both say that they are not making one for WP7.
Thats why I would like to run WP7 and have a SD bootable WM6.5 for Tomtom or Copilot which I had before on my HD2 WM6.5
So please can someone make one
I to think being able to boot Window Mobile 6.5 from SD would be really awsome. We all know that the DFT has annouced they are working on makeing this possible but I beleive this is going to be even harder and take much longer than Andriod did. You have to take into consideration the meir size of the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS is so much bigger than other OS's. So compiling all the code to work in a SD format is going to take time. But if anyonr can do it the DFT are the ones. I really wish there was something I could do to help those vuys out with this venture, but I am not versed enough with writting and compiling code yet to be of any real assistance.
Kudoes to the DFT and all thier hard work.
wm6.5 to sd card
hi,
this is exactly what i wish, i hav tried wp7 on hd2 android sd version, but what makes wm6.5 as my preferd os is
- wm6.5 is less dependant on cellular data connectivity
-ease of access to file system through file explorer and total commonder, though android has evolved from very little to a lot better explore but still u cant beat the wm6.5
- a lot of file and work can be accessed & edited if u wish to work offline
- wp7 & android have made user more dependant on online storage of documents & programs so i feel like being dependant on the online storage
- Most important point is that the progrem setup cabs can be saved on the device and it gives the ease and conveniance to install mod or work back to user coustomization without the need to connect to the desktop/laptop or data connection.
So all in all wm6.5 is still preferable as a choice as one of the os if there is dual boot(in my case wp7&wm6.5 dual boot)
all i can say is though i do like wp7 but until it gives evolves to the freedom & ease offer wm6.5 i think we feel the need of having wm6.5 sd port/rom.
if any developer will be working on porting wm6.5 to sd card i will be happy to contribute to him.
Please if any developer is already doing so then kindly point me to that place
My gut feeling is this won't happen :-(

@pinkjpr: there's a solution for your last problem, though it's a bit complicated. Install your program via the marketplace. Then also need ASTRO file manager (probably other tools, maybe even free ones, will be suitable as well). Now go to tools-->SD-Backup Manager (or something like that, can't remember the name). Chose the program you want to backup, click the "save" button (or similarly named). Now you can use the search function to look up your newly created apk (distinguish between them via date of creation). Tap and hold +send via mail or connect your phone to the PC and copy the apk on your computer.
The first step (Backup Manager) isn't always necessary.

Anon1811:-
My friend, u r missing my point,. please correct me if i m wrong, but apk files are for android os, just like the cab files in wm6.x, and i am referring about wm6.x & wp7,
secondly most of the android applications are web based and advertizement sponcered so u need a working data connection to use most of them (i m not saying all of them). & that brings u back to working internet data, and if u are in a remote location where u dont have network then u hav only limited functionality& cant use most of apps, so the device is more like a flash light or a paper waight,
finally about customization, i am not saying backup restoration, i am saying a fresh installation with what ever apps u want to use again and leave the ones u dont wish to,
and lastly u are saying to connect to PC/Laptop, so again u must carry ur laptop with you so u back to the dependence on PC & data connectivity
i think u havent explored windows mobile for long so u are underestimating its potential compared to android
Hello,
I am looking for an offline synchronizing tool/app/client for android
devices.
It can be used to take backup of
1. Contacts
2.Messages
3.Photos & Videos
4.Calender.
It should be able to backup this data using one or more of these:
1.USB
2.WIFI
3.BLUETOOTH
4.HTTP
Also, I am looking for such a tool specifically for Linux machines.
The reason for this is to avoid sending data to the cloud during
backup for privacy reasons.
Actually I am developing such a cross platform compatible offline
synchronizing tool myself. But I want to know if this already exists.
I couldn't find anything like this in the market or anywhere else.
Thanks.
I am using HTC's own software and Android Sync Manager WiFi.
boths are good.
Andriod offline synchronizer
Thanks. But have you used these apps for linux ? Say OSes like Ubuntu, fedora etc?
I am basically a linux user .So i had a hard time finding Desktop apps for linux.

Yes, I know. Software like PC Companion, KIES, etc, are only available for Winbugs (ok, Windows ) so the only way to use it is on Windows (I dunno if those apps works on a virtual machine, you should try it).

Try QtADB . Impressive one.
I've been a serious Android hacker for years, and am constantly trying out new ROMs and apps on both my phone and tablet. But one issue has always irritated me, and I have yet to find an app to ease the pain.
The problem is maintaining apps that were NOT installed from the Market, but from .apk files scattered in various directories on the SD card. What I need is a tool that combines the functionality of an app manager like Easy Installer together with details of all currently-installed apps: In a single big list sorted by app name, I'd like to see the installed version (if any), plus every available .apk file and the version it contains. That would make it SO much easier to know if I need to update installed apps with a newer version, and to delete multiple .apk files of outdated versions.
I've seen lots of apps (including the Apps menu built into Android Settings) to view the installed apps and their version info -- and also lots of apps to scan the whole SD card for .apk files and display the actual app info (name, version, etc.) vs. just the filenames. What's missing is an easy way to compare all these.
Has anyone discovered a single app that will do this??

Checked....Working Fine with All capabilities in....
Yeaaaah this was posted a couple days ago so I wouldn't really call it "GRAB IT FAST" (nor, for that matter, is this post quite in line with the forum rules as you're kinda-sorta advertising a paid app, even though it's not yours).
If you read the dev's forum thread (it's not here, it's easy enough to find though) you'll see he got special permission from Microsoft to use a capability which is normally only available to OEMs. Sure, it's a good sign and may mean good things to come, but don't go getting all breathlessly excited about it *just* yet!
Also, "Full API Access" is a pretty bad description. It doesn't appear to use any non-standard APIs at all, in fact (I decompiled it already). The filesystem APIs are available to all developers. You just can't *DO* much with them because apps run in sandboxes with very low permissions. The dev got permission to add *one* extra capability, ID_CAP_MEDIALIB_PHOTO_FULL, which gives full access to the pictures library and the SD card. It does not give anything even vaguely close to full access to the whole phone (as a trivial example, it still doesn't give access to the Documents folder). It's also not something that just any random developer is going to be able to use.
Thanks for trying, though, I guess...
Not the means of any ad here.
I just got it...usefull....

I don't think this thread should be deleted.
Anyway I just went to the Pocket File Manager facebook and this is what I found out :
"Hello developers.
I want to info you that in next version of Pocket File Manager we added support for third party application to save files into Phone storage and SD Card. It is very simple process and will cost you nothing.
How it works:
All what you need is to add special extension into your file and execute Launcher. PFM will receive file and save it to desired location , also it will remove extension so the file name remains original.
Extensions supproted:
.tosd - Save file to SD Card. For example you have file named "my new file.dat" and you want to save it to SD card. Rename the file to "my new file.dat.tosd" and use Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchFileAsync(); PFM will store the file named "my new file.dat" in SD Card. If no SD card is presents file will be stored into Phone's storage Picture folder)
.tols - Save file to PFM local storage.
.tops - Save file to Phone's storage under the Pictures folder.
If you have any questions fill free to ask!"
Maybe this can be helpfull to other developers that can't get the ID_CAP_MEDIALIB_PHOTO_FULL capability for their own app.
I think this is interesting ...
Best app
Super app!! Installed trial version on Lumia 925, all works as described. Hurry up developers!!!
This looks great! But I wish the ability to access even a small part of the SD card was open to all developers. Its been very difficult to build a productivity app when the only way to get files out of the phone is email. Looks like he got into the Nokia collection about a month before he added the capability, I assume Nokia made this happen.
That could be. Nokia has the ability to add ID_CAP_MEDIALIB_PHOTO_FULL to "their" apps if they want; they could probably arrange for this app to receive it.
I'm with you on the SD thing. The official APIs for SD access (read-only, limited to the file types you specify beforehand, can't specify reserved file types, can only see so many files) are really stupid.
The fact that 8.1 supposedly allows devs to enable installing apps to SD is encouraging. If that feature stays, there's a decent change it will mean the apps are installed to a FAT partition, which would mean they would have full access, automatically (MS can restrict access to the mount point, but then the app couldn't get at its own binaries and resources; if they allow that, they allow it all). Of course, they might split-partition the card, making part of it NTFS so that they can ACL it to hell again. Even then, though, you could remove the card and put it in a PC...
From my experience with the emulator, the SD card still appears to be a single partition, FAT32 to be exact. Installed apps are stored in a hidden folder, namely WPSystem\Apps. Unless there's some trickery here that I'm unaware of...
Heh, "hidden" folder. Yeah, that'll be effective. I bet they set the readonly flag too...

That folder was there before, but now it also contains apps and appdata as well, besides some system files from before. Some folders are marked as partially read-only.
Well if there is a difference between the winRT file access and the winPTR 8.1 file access for apps I am yet to find it (aside from not being able to get on network locations and DLNA from phone).
I say devs should be more focused on getting their apps ready for 8.1 than still trying to live up with the *redacted* limitations of WP8.0...
Hi, I have about 200 android tablets and I would like to know if there is any solution how to install them whit filled Google account, installed apps from GP, settings by some easy way rather than doing it with every single tablet...
Something like image file ofr Windows, or *.exe app (in self execution rar) which contains specific informations, ex. specific company ports etc.
Do you guys know about anything like that? It could be even bussines solution, paid, there is no problem with that, only I could not find anything

Thank you very much!!!
