I'm already answered in N9330 topic: i've made an backup of my firmware.
docs.google.com/open?id=0Bzfzgm4LS_9uaEJtMjdrYW95czg
hi thank you, i already got the patched file from an other user
did you find any good firmware for this phone?
I assume that patched files belongs to me too — I've shared them on our russian forum.
No firmware at all; absolutely nothing.
Tried yesterday Jelly Bean for N9330 and it works! But uboot.bin for n9330 contains RX_527NT_455A display driver and we need RX_527NT_460A on our MPai Royality Note2. I assume that's why screen is turned on 180 degrees, while touch is works right. Phone becomes unusable — if you press on left top it shows on right bottom. Tried to replace uboot.bin; image display's right but we have endless reboot.
Thinking about replacement my phone to N9330: sell mpai, buy n9330… community is much bigger and JB offcourse.
password
hi. i installed your backup on my hdc galaxy note 2 but when i turn on the phone it says:"type password to decrypt storage"
what does it mean and where i can get the password?

Boot into recovery and wipe data and dalvik cache.
I've produced the same bug today, and solved it by wiping. I don't even understand, what the password it wants.

Bad news... i've bricked my phone using SP Flash Tool. :crying:
After flashing the CWM recovery with SP Flash Tool, i've tried the memory test (Ram, Nand and emmc).
After test finished test the phone don't boot anymore (i think that the emmc test overwrite the rom content to test)
Now SP Flash Tool detect the phone but i don't know how restore...
I've sent an email to the chinese lady to have a link to download the firmware of my phone.
I hope to unbrick the phone...
you can flash this one:

It's better to use this link now: docs.google.com/open?id=0Bzfzgm4LS_9uYnRrRWxjTHZhWGc
I've repacked the firmware to avoid some problems with previous version of backup.
Glad to hear that JB already exists for our device, hope you will unbrick your phone and get firmware for it. Good luck!

Hi.
no news, i've tried with this firmware but i can't download on the phone, the process don't start.
I think the bootloader of the phone is broken.
When start SP Flash Tool the phone is detected as MTK usb port and not as MTK Preloader.
And also no news from supplier of the phone.
Anyone tha know how fix the bootloader?
i thinkre is no way for us to help you...if preloader is wrong, your phone is permanent bricked, sorry...
there is a tool outside (hadware, cost about 250USD). With this tool you an get access to "dead" phones.....but a "normal" wy to get preloader working doesn't exist at the moment...or i don't know how....
sorry

Your phone is not dead, it can be fixed but you must to disassemble it and find 'test-point'. It's contact on your phone board.
Maybe you can try to read topic about this on our russian forum forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22559

I installed this rom. It works but it's 4.04.
Someone knows where it's possible download 4.1.1?
Thanks
sure it is ICS, JB i have not seen so far for our phone...only in (fake) pictures or in ICS Version which look exactly like jb.
But when you check real version it says ICS.
I think we have to wait.....

Hi
I current have 5.1 rooted 7840 and wanted to know if I can go back to 5.02. After 5.1 I'm having issues with audio, crackling sound while playing games and typing touch keyboard; so, I want to go back to 5.02 if possible. I've tried to restore to kitkat nandroid backup that I've download from the fourm but it gives me "Error while flashing boot image!" I'm guessing I cannot go back to kitkat while I'm on lollipop. If someone can show me how to go back to 5.02 or even kitkat (both had no audio issue) I'd appreciate it.
Thank you

If the crackling sound is your only concern, try to disable the MaxxAudio app and reboot. At least it works for me.
Disabling Maxxaudio does not work for me.

Hi,
Can you help me to downgrade the tablet? I have used the flash tool from intel and flashed the 5.02 file (1-502_droidboot_and_firmware) but tablet is still 5.1, any ideas?
The crackling is very annoying.
Thanks in advance

i completely wiped and re-installed 5.0.1 on my tab a few days ago. Worked perfectly with the procedure described in the link. Just be sure that fastboot AND adb-drivers are installed beforehand.
From what I gathered there is no system image file...so how does it downgrade based on a 25 meg file? Do I need to flash the other zips as well or just the one listed?

you're right, but xBIGREDDx provided a dump of system.img some time ago, which i'm really glad for. If you stick to this thread you should have no problems reverting back to 5.0.1. But it's really not the easiest way when you're used to other vendors where you just need to flash something on your custom recovery of choice.
Ive messed up 5.1 system so i needed to flash clean rom and i did as in post above. Now im having Android 5.0.2 and i cannot update to Android 5.1....OTA file gives me Error 0.
Any solution? Thanks

If you can go to TWRP recovery then use flashable stock rom to recover your phone.Or try flashing boot.img from the stock rom also. This should work.

If you face any problem and need to improve or add new features in the rom just comment in the Rom's thread or PM that Rom Developer because he is the one who build rom for your device. Here me or anyone can't help you with this. And always use stable build.Don't try too fast to try Recently developing Alpha, beta or nightly rom.It contains too many issues and bugs.but if you want to help developer and you know how to handle your phone in such bad situation you can go for those builds and provide Dev log to develpoer.

Not actually only that some people like me always brick their device while trying something new sometimes it happen 3-4 times a day so this tool comes very handy..
And also stock recoverys aren't available online separately so you get rid of downloading 1.4+1.4 GB files over internet only for getting ota updates

Sorry, no offense. I just don't like to be spoon fed. Someone might give me the 'wrong food' and then my phone is bricked. I like to be in control of what I'm doing. That's why I have most ADB and fastboot commands in my head to be easily typed in the console! Fastboot is such a relief for me compared to the old days, when I was forced to use Windows to be able to use Odin for my Samsung Galaxy Mini... (which was running on CM6!).
And about stock recoveries: they are only usable for stock roms! I always make sure that I have a working stock rom as a 'backup'. If, for some reason, I have to go back to stock (that'll be always temporary), I usually leave out the command 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' to retain TWRP.
But yeah, there are always people that just root their stock rom and don't use a custom rom. And then they are surprised that their stock OTA won't install...
For me, stock roms are always outdated and very limited in use...

Either if someone is spoonfeeds you it is your duty to always check what he is feeding you it didn't harm your device.
And talking about the custom roms and stock ROMs in many cases people trust stock ROMs so they don't face any hessale in emergency( like network drop,GPS problems) and also they want root previlages in stock ROM to use some stuff.
But when the updates for stock ROMs arrived many users even don't know why they are unable to update so I made this stock recovery flasher for those people who always love updated stock ROM with root access
And talking about custom ROM for moto these are not much differ from stock (like xiaomi phones) so many people use stock ROMs with moto. And also we can get 70 % of custom ROM features with apps having root so it doesn't make a difference

Yes, you're right there's an 'audience' for this! So your scripts are useful for a lot of people.
I've always been a strange guy: I don't like upgraded but always outdated roms (Android 7.0 vs Android 7.1.2 and security patch level from 1st of January vs 5th of may).
Since there's CyanogenMod/LineageOS I've been using that, with the occasional escapade to the Resurrection Remix, AOKP, and Vanir. Last rom on my previous device was Invicta by @Silesh.Nair / @double_facepalm. Unfortunately not available for the G5 Plus...

OK I think the thread should be deleted now
Is it the same as Mark 2? I did not find any tutorials for Mark 3
NOPE. DON'T EVER THINK OF FLASHING XPERIA 1 II RECOVERY TO XPERIA 1 III. Both have different hardware, so flashing Xperia 1 II TWRP to Xperia 1 III will most likely to soft brick your phone and you will lose all your data.
And for the Xperia 1 III TWRP, I haven't found one. I don't even own the phone, but if you want, I can tell you if I found one.
What do you lose when you flash though. I want to use Google pay, that'll not work properly.
Do we know if the TWRP is even working on a version for 1 III?

None so far. Sony documentation on new 5.4 Kernel is lame honestly and I have been able to boot twrp, touch works (yay) but the kernel needs further drivers enabled to make it work with booted Android as well since I haven't found a way to flash twrp kernel only to twrp and not the whole boot partition.
I wonder if it has to do with the A and B partition. Have to flash it to each partition separately... I dont know, I'm just thinking out loud. I have never done any recovery dev myself so its pretty foreign to me. I know when I had to flash my patched boot image I had to flash it to both the A and B partition.
Hopefully you, or someone can figure it out. I would love to have a good working custom recovery. Thats the only thing holding this phone back for me. lol

Jimbo, do you have an experimental build available? I've bootlooped my 5 iii (same architecture as 1 iii, kernels work interchangeably) and would like to get some baby photos off before factory resetting, can't find another way.

I think its dead because they ask for help and for testers and then we hear nothing anymore -___-
I would gladly test or help where I can for a custom recovery on the 1 III but I am no expert when it comes to programing/coding for that stuff so I am no use to get the ball rolling. lol
I would test too...

Hello Jimbo77,
Can I get your source for TWRP for the Sony Xperia 1 iii? Or what TWRP image you used?
Going to try and achieve to make a unofficial image. Thank you!
Any updates on this? I would love to be backing up my phone every now and then
Any news for twrp Android 12 ? It looks like the project is dead -__-
