Hi, I have tried using the MediaTek SP Flash tool, v5.13.52.200, to root HTC Desire 320, but wasn't successful. I think the problem might be driver related.
I noticed that when i connect the turned-off phone to pc then the VCom preloader driver disappears in a few seconds from the device manager.
I tried rooting also with Framaroot but that wasn't successful either.
Can someone suggest me another way?
Or a way to solve this problem (perhaps there's a more suitable preloader driver for HTC Desire 320 than the one I'm currently using)?
The information of current preloader driver:
"PreLoader USB VCOM Port (COM...)"
Driver Provider: MediaTek Inc.
Driver date: 12/24/2011
Driver version: 2.0.0.0
have u tried this

Hil there.
I tried also various rooting tools, however the one that worked for me was iRoot, and the driver i used was from... Sorry i don't remember the thread i got the program from , and i am not on the PC i did the procedure, but this program search for your device drivers automatically. If you have driver issues i will edit and include the program's name later.
By the way, iRoot also offers an apk to root directly from your device, i did not used this method but it's worth a try if you think there is an issue with your drivers.
Hope it works for you as well!

Thanks Avan7,
iRoot worked.
First I tried with apk version which did not fully root
but then I tried the version that uses USB cable.
(v1.7.9.2, Model library date: 141211)
and it worked.

Picked up a Maxwest Orbit Z50, overall it is a solid off brand phone, but I have hit a wall trying to find USB drivers for it. The VID is 24E3 and PID is 9025. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8625Q Processor. Trying to get the drivers to see if any of the root methods out there will work. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.
So if I had read the noob guides like I should have I would have found the ADB Driver Installer program. For anyone that wanders here later looking for the driver for this phone, use the link in the noob guide, this worked like a champ. It is an unsigned driver so in Windows 8 I had to disable my driver signature enforcement to get it to install. After it installed I ran Kingo to root the phone and it worked like a champ. Once again, thank you XDA you guys are my heroes.

Hey!
This is my first time posting, but I have read tons of threads on here over the last year or so with my Droid DNA.
A while ago, I rooted my DNA, and unlocked the Bootloader, and used moonshine for S-OFF. I now want to undo all that I have done. Wiping data is no issue, I backed up all my info. I plan to get a new phone soon. Basically, I can't get adb drivers to work. So I deleted my drivers, and installed the ones mentioned in the thread linked below, and I can't find how to get these drivers to work.
My plan is to follow this thread, using step 3 (for moonshine). I have TWRP installed, and flashed the lock_bootlader.zip file provided there. I cannot get adb to work, however, for the next step. For example, "adb devices" returns no devices. And thus i cannot use adb commands. When I run "adb devices", it shows this. What do I do??
Thanks
Some more clarification:
I might also add that Device manager shows my phone as "HTC6435LVW", under "Portable Devices". It seems to recognize it as an MTP Device when I try to update the drivers, and won't let me update the drivers, because "The best driver software for your device is already installed".
In addition, HTC Sync Manager does not recognize my phone either. I should mention that I already chose "Reset Phone" from the Settings menu, and then also did a Factory Reset from TWRP.
I'm so confused by all this - Why can't I get ADB to recognize it?? I have been and will continue to be searching for solutions to this problem here on XDA and also on Google. And do I even need to do all this to give my phone back to Verizon?
Try getting the drivers from PDAnet. If you are using Windoze 8 or 8.1 , good luck.

I tried that, it gets stuck at the USB Driver Installation page, when it asks to connect your phone. I have USB debugging enabled, and I even installed PdaNet on my phone to try to use their "USB Mode". The DNA has not USB options for Mass Storage, etc like the pdanet driver help page ( pdanet . co / driver ) (It wont let me post a link because I'm a new user, sorry) tells me to look for.
Windows device manager does not recognize it as an Android phone, but instead as a portable device, could this be a problem?
Thanks for your reply
I am very interested in this as I am having a similar problem. This is the guide I attempted numerous times with no success http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293919.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it when I get home and report back with an edit to this post!
EDIT: Nope, didn't work. Momentarily, I got it to install drivers. During that time, adb worked but not fastboot. So then I deleted the drivers to try to reinstall for fastboot, and now neither of them works.
Hi all,
I have a Zopo ZP998 Octocore phone. Yesterday I flashed it to Android 4.4, the latest available version from the vendor.
Google told me 4.4 should be rootable easily with "towelroot" or "vroot". I tried both, nothing worked. Towelroot tells me the phone is not
supported and VROOT worked until to nearly end and tells me "unsuccessful". There is only the option to root by hand but
I didn´t do that.
I am sure I have done all correct. I installed the windows drivers under Win7 and the phone is recognized by the system and
also by the VROOT software. I turned on USB debugging and I also installed the APK part of the vroot on my phone.
Any ideas what I can do more? Root is not that important for me but I´d like to do it.

OK, I found out where the problem was. I had the wrong version of VROOT. You need the 1.7
After that all works perfect. Thank you.

Ok, so you set flashtool like I said in my thread but there's no progress when you connect your switched off phone to PC. That's probably because your phone isn't recognised properly. I don't know if there's any driver installed on your PC, but you have to reinstall it somehow. The best method I encountered is to connect switched off phone and, when windows prompts, choose to install drivers from specific folder (try ADB folder or FlashTool, there's drivers for xp/vista/7 in each one that worked for me). This is a point when you must figure out by yourself, depending on your situation. Let me know if something changes.
Hello,
I just bought an S850 and I can't even install the drivers. When I connect the phone to the PC, it detects it, but it doesn't ask for drivers. It just says that Windows didn't found any drivers for this device and then it disappears from the Device Manager. Tried to manually install the .inf files, but then I get an error message saying that these files cannot be installed manually. So basically I'm stuck at the very beginning of the root process
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi there,
I recently bought a cheap lg G5 from eBay which said it was stuck on a bootloop. The seller said they weren't very tech savvy and I decided to give it a try, seemed fun. I have never done this before, so when searching on Google I stumbled upon threads saying it should be rather easy to fix by using LG Bridge and let it recover/repair the installation. However, after installing LG Bridge and LG Drivers from their website , every time I boot the phone in Download mode and it progresses into a firmware updating screen, my Windows 10 64bit fails to connect the device properly and prompting me with the following message:
USB device not recognized.
The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it.
And in device manager it shows "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).
Is there anything I could try? Is it fixable like I thought?
Bump, anyone? Im stumped but would love tot learn about this

I have never had the experience to get a bootloop but my guess is that you have some driver problems, thats why its not well recognised by your computer.
Try to check if there is a youtube tutorial with some links to the drivers related to the G5.
Sorry if this isnt very helpful, but its the best I can add to this topic.

Or try with another pc running windows 7, maybe your OS and compatibility is the problem!
Definitely a driver issue! I had a similar problem with moto x4! It was not being recognised by my pc! Uninstalling the previous usb driver fixed it for me! Try to remove any remnants of drivers you might have installed previously.
Thank you for the replies. I also thought it would be a driver issue, however I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the LG drivers for the LG G5 multiple times and I did not get it to work. Unfortunately, I do not have a Windows 7 computer. Would it be possible to install windows 7 solely for this, without a license key?

If you can find a copy of it some where. You can use it for like 30 days or so before activation.
I do not know any coding, and have never even rooted a device, but i had this problem with stock rom 8.0, tried looking into flashing new stock rom installed all the drivers, still couldnt connect to pc. After 4 days with no phone i thought id throw my other battery in it, it booted up perfectly like it was out of the box, probably because i tried the restore in safe mode... Hope this helps... P.s. id like to learn
