Is it normal to get almost half the battery life on CM11 RC2.?
On stock ROM, i used to get around 7 hours of screen on time. On CM i can BARELY get 4 hours (screenshots attached), usually it's just 3.5 hours.
Is it normal.?
[No 2g, No 3g, only Wifi, that too only around 60-70% of the time, no heavy tasks AT ALL. Only whatsapp/telegram/calling/music, that too, not simultaneously]
I mostly just whatsapp with my phone. Rare music playback (with screen off), a bit of calling (very less). 3.5 hours of screen on time seems a bit too less to me. :|

Alright, will try that now. Any explanation as to WHY this happens on CM.?
Seriously.?
Seriously.? No one knows why CM is behaving this way.? Not a single person.?
Well, so much for the so called expert "XDA COMMUNITY".

I have also face this kind of problem....
Battery drain in CM

i have a galaxy and im getting some ridiculously good battery with custom rom, im at 10 hours with over 50% battery with moderate usage, i was thinking about switching to amaze because i really need led notification and camera button, can you guys let me know what the battery on the amaze is like how much usage and what percent u have ? i know itll be worse then the galaxy i just want to see how it will be to help me decide
I'm still figuring out exact battery life times, but I'm getting about 5-6 hours with very heavy usage (screen on for about 2 hours total according to battery use).
I'm at 9 hours with 12% left. I'm running unrooted totally stock but with Juice Defender Free on aggressive. Fairly heavy usage since I just got it yesterday and am constantly playing with it. That usage includes 60 min with My Tracks (gps) and PowerAMP running while out waking the dog. However I did have it connected to my pc for about half an hour while i was transferring music.
amaze
damn thats not looking good, anyone that rooted and installed one of the roms get better battery ? because 9 hours with a battery app doesnt sound too good, im at almost 15 hours with my galaxy and i have close to 50% battery left, with moderate usage (some facebooking, lots of text, emails,15-30 mins of gaming) not going to lie the battery on the galaxy with the rom i have is kind of ridiculous, best ive seen, but if the amaze can at least hold for 16 hours on moderate use on a full charge or 12 hours on heavy id be happy

probably around 13-14 thats without battery app
I'm on Quick Sense 1.2.1 and I get 18 hours of pretty heavy usage...music player 7 hours straight, games, email, text, talk, etc.
problems
ok sounds good, you guys have any small problems with the amaze that your facing ? like the galaxy has the blob problem which is common, u guys have any similar known issues ?
Usually, on weekends, or holidays, I use my phone for Angry Birds, many other games, music, etc for a long period of time. Today I managed to get about 5 hours use until the battery got to 30%.
I'm not sure whether or not this is good or bad and so I'm wondering; how many hours do you get out of it, in relation to being a heavy user, medium user or light user?
Thanks
about 5/6 hours max
With normal usage 24-30 hrs. Wth heavy use, 8-10 hrs.

pretty much the same
always have 3g on and im quite sure i listen to music for 7 hours at least while im at my office...and by the end of the day i have like 20%
10 days and still going
With all data disabled most of the time, almost unused, but still connected to the GSM network, mine is now at more than 10 days (and I think it wasn't even fully charged at the start of this period). This is with stock ROM, Apex launcher, almost no other custom apps.
It's hard to have an effeicient answer since it depends on many factors : the way you use your phone, your ROM , Kernel and all setting stuffs etc ... . And even with same settings , two SGS II can have a totaly different battery drain. So, you can compare but it wont realy be so efficient .
Anyway , for me with a usual use : almost 2d and with heavy use about 16-24 h. I m on Wanamlite 10.6 with last Siyah V3.0 Kernel.
At weekends 5 hours max weekdaus prob 8-9 hours
Mod or Die
Plenty of hourly syncing and light use....
Stock rooted KL1 + LPR radio
I have tried 3 different ROMs and with the last ICS ROM i had 8-9 hours with heavy use of 3G/Bluetooth/sync ... and of course it's depends of what apps (games ) i use among the day ...
awesome how some users get 24 hours with a single battery charge.
When I use my S2 as a normal phone, about 20 hours.
But with heaving usage and gaming (which I do pretty much) probably between 6 or 8 hours also.

i guess screen on time is more important than overall battery time. I Used to get 4hr screen on time with a full day usage which is quite good for me and i think its average.

+1 Agreed here are some on my screen shots.
Usually prefer to watch youtube video's through browser So flash is must & it is a nice battery drainer too.Plus 4 hours of non-music playback !
Brightness - 20%
When i use gprs heavily it is very less!
Normal use may last a day!
Playing games also burns the battery pretty fast!
I have a Superatmos ROM installed in my Galaxy SII i9100G and I get around 30 to 35 hours of standby time with normal to low use. I do however browse the internet over WiFi some 4 hours a day.
I am quite happy with the performance of my phone.
So far its three months but its like Triggers Broom .
jje
I got a battery app installed which shows % in the top bar. It stays at 100% for a while but when it starts draining with the screen on I lose about 1% every 1-2 minutes, I think its somewhere in between, if I am taxing the cpu it more frequeent than every minute, this would give me about 2-3 hours usage which seems extremely low.
Brightness is min.
wifi/3g off.
auto sync off.
accuweather is installed (mentioned as it has a service running).
I get the drain simpley from doing things like scrolloing app drawer and checking sms.
With screen off in sleep mode battery drain is ok less than 5% in 12 hours. I have this issue confirmed on 2 different batteries.
If this is normal fine, I just want to compare to others on this.
I used to get around 1 day for heavy use ( like wifi, games, etc.) and 1.5 to 2 days for moderate use Which ROM are you using ??
Cm7 based roms use more battery than stock, cuz also their performance is a lot better.
Use uot Kitchen to get the % battery instead of an app.
Also the launcher u use affects battery. ie Go launcher drains plenty of battery.
If you can't squeeze a day's worth of battery from ur phone ur probably using it too much (how much does a laptop last on battery, seriously!)

you mean a day of constant use screen on or would there be periods of it sleeping?
My phone lasts more than a day mostly 3-5 days but thats mainly because its idle most of the time. However I plan to transfer some tasks to it and it seems I will need to keep the charger in during the day.
Compared to stock CM I think isnt too bad, the drain was also bad on stock with the screen on and during calls but the only reason I specified CM is that I didnt have the % meter on my stock rom which means I dont have the same comparison.
My current rom is vo-1's 30 may build. I had bugs on official nightly that vo-1's resolved (including force reboot when using market) so is the reason I am using it.
Incidently my laptop drains its battery slower than my android.
Why I read that so many use thier phones like 2 days, and I can't even get a 12 hours fair use.
I use 2G (3g drains my battery really quick), some whatsapp, some FB and some calls. Music it's only in the morning on my way to work.
I've buy a new battery from ebay, but, it's the same. Using CM 7.1 rom "The End 4.0"
yeah my hunch seems right that it wasnt overall much diff to stock (that also drained superfast when screen on). IN fact during sleep it seems improved over stock.
I am over 4 days at the moment with 35% charge left. mostly sleep. It lost 3% during the time it took me to fetch the below stats. Note that calls like my earlier hunch as well seem to drain battery far more than display.
4 days 8 hours 38% left
display on 40mins used 4%
voice calls on 1hr 5mins used 33%
mobile standby 41% 4hrs 8 mins
phone idle 4days 7hrs 23%

Surely, you're not using WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, handling e-mails or any of the like. If you're just using the SGA like a normal phone, OF COURSE it can give you that kind of performance. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Well mate you can't expect battery on a cm rom. Performance and good battery isn't an option on cm. Performance is great on cm but battery, nah!

yeah sadly it seems noone has a comparison that I need.
Which is time needed for 1% usage whilst screen is on.
This isnt on stock tho the phone is on CM7.2 vo-1 build.
From what I see the battery life is around the same as stock.
Now I am over 5 days with 17% left. Just did a phone call and it stayed at 17%. When below 20% on stock the phone was unuseable.

Thinking of upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge but worried about that the battery life won't be the same as my Note 4. I normally got around 4 hours on screen time with a charging time of 90 ish minutes, does the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge really beat that?
Share you screen on time screenshots with your S6 Edge. Does having the curved screen always on information stream drain your battery? What's your screen on time with bluetooth turned on most of the time,
Does 15 minutes of charge really provide you with 2 hours of watching HD video, does it have to be the default player or can it be any, like MX Player
I'm just gonna leave this here.

I always get 5hrs 40 mins watching Netflix on data so yeah it should. Most people get about 4hr 30 mins and up.
Well, i am one of those that never get the Screen time people show they get, i guess it's my brightness settings or that i leave everything on, bluetooth, nfc, wifi, gps etc..
I have the phone for 2 weeks and never went under 40% of battery , but at 40% i was with 8 hours on battery , 1h 28 min of screen on time. So i have the feeling that for me wont last over 3h of screen time. I might have some high drainage on stand by thought , wakelock or something. Today i charged my phone and went for a bike ride , so i barely used the phone, right now i have 82% of battery - 5h 45 min on battery with 19min screen on time.
Just sharing , not saying the phone's battery sucks. For me it's fine.
Depends on lots of factors. Some people have really bad battery life while others have awesome battery life. I've never had an issue with regards to battery life and I recently rooted and swapped to Edgar's debloated rom. I am using Kt kernel on stock clocks with undervolting on big and little cores of around 75. Unfortunately I got stuck with some bad binned chips or I would have under volted even more. Usage consists of Netflix, tapatalk, reddit and Facebook (web), and texting. I'm not a gamer but I do play clash of clans for about 15 minutes a few times during this cycle.
I can't attach my photos for some reason.
Sounds awesome. I would love to get around 5 hours of Screen on time with Bluetooth on and connected to my Gear S. I would mostly be using it to browse the web, play YouTube videos and download large files often. Do you have to give the battery time to adjust to your habit to get the maximum amount of usage.
The battery takes time to settle down. I think 4hrs sot should be possible for medium use. This is what I've always got with all the Samsung phones. I used to get near 5hrs sot with note 4. I've only had the phone a few days now and the battery was very poor to start with and used to get soooo hot during charging. It seems to be settling down...else is going back. ...I'm still trying to get used to the size lol

I regularly get 5+ hrs screen on time, I've had the best part of 7 hrs occasionally.
Is 3 hours of screen on time on Lollipop good? I keep hearing of people that get 5 or 6 hours of screen on time and No android device I get has ever achieved that. Even my xperia z3 tablet compact can't get over 3 hours of Screen on time. Am I doing something wrong? Like could I be using my device too much?
check apps wich draw most battery and get rid of them , if this won't work then do a factory reset ...
I get between 4 1/2 and 7+ SOT hours.
Depends mostly if I turn Bluetooth on (SmartWatch), GPS use (Google+ position tracking, weather),use a lot of Internet (chrome is a battery sucker, you don't believe it), sync a lot of mails n stuff like that.
Of course it depends on your apps, but 3 hours is really not a lot, may be your battery is not good.
The 3 hours screen on time is with heavy usage but the standby time is amazing.

It very much depends on a rom.
I was able to get around 4-5h sot on lollipop, but it was on Google style rom. On some more customized or stock roms you may get a bit worse battery life.
So to answer your question, 3h is a bit below the average result.
The reason may be an old battery.

Perhaps rom related. Most ever SOT I got was around 4.5 hours and that was on Lollipop Google style rom...
