If you bought it in Korea, get the Korean ROM. Otherwise the international. XXKPL/KRKPN are the newest.

Are you sure you want to install GB? Will lose the main functionality: Music Player.
Nothing so far managed to play the Sound Alive present in Froyo.
I could not leave the Froyo until today because of it.
I tried everything suggested. But ...
Good luck I hope you are able to adapt their ears away from the magnificent sound that is only possible in Froyo.
Hi Guys,
As usual other guys, I screwed up my Canvas HD 116 (hw version 1 and sw version 16) by loading JB 4.2 and got TP firmware upgrade error. And then I started work on getting touch panel (FT5206) firmware working.
Well did adb on factory mode and tried running Tpupgrade using OTG keyboard, and got Firmware bin file error. So I looked up /system/bin/factory bin carefully and found out that it searches touch panel firmware in "/mnt/sdcard/tp_firmware".
Here is list of bin files it looks under "tp_firmware"
tinno-fts-update-byd.bin
tinno-fts-update-truly.bin
tinno-fts-update-nanbo.bin
tinno-fts-update-baoming.bin
tinno-fts-update-jiemian.bin
tinno-fts-update-yeji.bin
Now I really don't know which Tinno platform 116 has, byd or truly or yeji.....
I got two firmware bin under "/etc/firmware/ft5206" -
tinno-fts-update-jiemian.bin
tinno-fts-update-yeji.bin
So I copied these bin to "/mnt/sdcard/tp_firmware", given 0777 permission (please use 'su') and tried TP upgrade again, but still same error.
So conclusion is -
1. Either I need to find out other missing bin
2. Or I need to fix permission issue if any
well, I am trying hard, if anyone has any clue, info please let me know.
let's work together and get rid of this stupid touch panel firmware upgrade issue.
mmx service center simply replacing all v16 motherboards by v20 motherboards and loading JB 4.2 on it. But I want mu v16 motherboard fully working with touch, so sure, I will try hard to get it
Thanks,

Just remove battery and below that you will find hw and sw version.
hw version 1 and sw version 12
or
hw version 1 and sw version 16
or
hw version 1 and sw version 20
Now, what I found and predicting is that version 12 and 16 doesn't work with JB 4.2, as touch issue is there as what I found. need to make it confirm from others too.
Micromax has Tinno Mobile platform, and version 12, 16 and 20 corresponds to software versions of this Tinno Platform (TP).
Now in my case, I have version 16 A116, and stucked with TP issue. I am trying to re-program TP firmware bin from factory mode, but no luck yet. There is permission issue for /mnt/sdcard/tp_firmware, need to make it -rw-r--r--
I think ver 12 ,16 ,20 doesnt have much to do with tp upgrade as all these versions were of jellybean 4.1.2 tp upgrade happens when you upgrade to 4.2.1 jellybean that also happens only once .
If you can go to recovery mode you will find an option called tp upgrade select that option by pressing the list soft key at the lower left corner
Thank me if i helped you

In factory mode, sure there is option for TP upgrade, but here are the issues for that -
1. As touch panel is not working, we cant select the option as it requires pressing left soft key. (and hence poor software design)
2. We can launch TP upgrade using OTG keyboard, it starts, but throws error for FW bin file. Ultimately I found that it looks for binary in /mnt/sdcard/tp_firmware folder, but it dont have access rights, and I can't provide it as there is permission provided to do that.

So you're saying to flash 4.1.2 firmware based on v20 first and then flash 4.2 firmware? I checked the development section and that's what I think I should do..
Did it.
First upgraded to v20 firmware, got tp update there. Then flashed 4.2 firmware. Success!
It didn't do tp update during this second flash.
No problems with the update. Touchscreen working, IMEI intact etc etc.. Thanks a lot!
Is there any manual process to update this touch panel after updating to 4.2.1
Like flashing a zip or some else manual process in which we don't to format the user data!!

Well, it depends upon at what place last firmware upgrade failed.
If last time, the TP upgrade failed before erasing out original firmware, then on rebooting phone TP upgrade will again try to upgrade the firmware. The TP upgrade module on boot-up verifies firmware versions in touch panel chip-set with existing one, and upgrades it.
Now in other case, if last time TP upgrade failed after erasing out origional firmware and before burning new firmware, then you screwed up the touch panel. As on next reboot, as there is no firmware in touch panel chip-set, TP upgrade simply fails as it is unable to get touch panel vendor and firmware version.
I am struggling and debugging to get it working, just downloaded source code for micromax a116, so will try to build driver and to get it resolved.

Actually I would like you to know that this thing TP upgrade didn't took place when i updated my phone from 4.1.2 to 4.2.1
and as well the upgrade didn't failed.
It completed in first time.
The only thing I find is some sort of dots on the screen on colored lines of system.
and the screen is a bit laggy compared to 4.1.2
Very poorly written driver for touch-panel FT5316 on Canvas HD A116. Working on making changes in this driver to upgrade touch panel firmware automatically when TP upgrade fails. This will happen at booting time only, so will solve issue for touch panel not working after TP upgrade failed.
Testing the driver on my A116, will release soon so that other can use it.

hey same happened here with a friends device , did u completed writing driver with source code and to rectify the touch panel thinggie to wort flawless , or what to do now? Flash with v20 4.1.2 and the upgrade to TP once more and then update to 4.2.1
TP Upgrade failed.
Was upgrading from 4.1.2 to 4.2.1 but got this TP upgrade thing. I pressed the 'Ok' button one time and it made the touch to stop working. After a reboot the phone just gets stuck on new setup screen. I have given the phone to Micromax service center but since 2 weeks they have been giving me stories about the Touch being damaged on the phone. I was wondering if that IS POSSIBLE?? for the touch screen itself to be damaged just by the touch of a wrong button??
I hope someone does find a solution for this as I have lost hope in Micromax aftersales services.
TP Upgrade failed
If TP update is messed up there is no fix for it yet !! I have spent 3 days and 3 nights trying to get it fixed but my work was in vain. People facing this problem has to contact Micromax service center. I will be visiting them tomo. Once I get the phone fixed may be i can try to find out a solution. Good Luck guys !!:good:

Hi everyone,
I believe there might be a solution for TP upgrade failure. If anybody has a back up of their canvas HD touch calibration taken through Maui Meta I guess it can be restored back in the phone which has failed TP upgrade. Or if some one has a perfectly working canvas HD a back up of touch calibration can be taken and the back up can be restored back in the phone which has failed TP upgrade. No guarantee if its gonna work as its not tested. Good luck guys. :good: :fingers-crossed:

I faced this issue on my friends phone but after several restarts mainly 3 or 4 by removing battery and putting it back did the job. As on 1st boot TP Upgrade fails then taken out battery wait a min and put it back in and start the phone don't touch anything till 10min. to half and hour. hope you get it back working.

Hello guys..!
i bought this phone some other country..!
and its flashed with some custom rom..!
i am using samsung galaxy S II GT-I9100
Baseband version is I9100XXKI3
KERNEL VERSION IS 3.0.31-N.E.A.K-2.0.5x [email protected])
AND i dont know wch stock rom to download..!
right now i live in India and this mob is bought in someother conutry wch i dont know..!
is it okay to download India stock rom to it..!
can someone tell me wch stock rom i need to downad and prefer me the link too plzz..!
and also wen i switch on my mobile it shows a triangle sign below with the samsung symbol..!
so plzz help me out to flash back the stock rom..!
thnxx..!
It shouldn't matter which stock rom you flash, if it were me I'd be flashing a rom released by the carrier your currently using as the modem in it should give you good connectivity.
Nobody's going to give you links (they'd better not) when all you need to do is go to Samfirmware & spend two minutes or less using the pulldown boxes to find the rom you need. How to flash the rom ? Search. This has been covered so many times here over the past two years it ain't funny.
If you've got the warning triangle then someone has flashed non stock firmware on it at some stage. No need to worry about it unless you ever need to make a warranty claim, because removing it will involve rooting the phone (How ? Search).

so it does not matter about the contry wch we bought we can just flash a rom from samfirmware and my phone is rooted though..! and its showing triangle symbol.! so no need to worry about it while flashing my stock rom right ?
You should be able to use any stock rom from any carrier/country just fine, but as I mentioned, if it were me, I'd be flashing a stock rom released by my carrier for the reason mentioned.
If you flash stock you'll lose root, if you want it back, you'll need to re-root your phone (How ? Again, search). As mentioned, no need to worry about the triangle unless you'd need to send the phone to a service centre for a warranty claim (tho you can remove it with Triangle Away if you re-root your phone).

well for me i encountered the problem of not hearing the caller from the app like viber, kakaotalk etc. when i also updated to the latest firmware, but i did not bother because i did not have any problems with the my ordinary phone calls.
i have updated to a different firmware with the higher build than before, unfortunately i havent tried or tested the mentioned problem with the new firmware.
i'll be back when i do or if someone calls me with the apps.
Update:
still i encounter the problem. i think the only solution as of now is just revert back to the previous firmware (no galaxy gear compatibility update)

hmm honestly i dont know what stock rom / firmware specifically or maybe the I9152XWUAMJ2 firmware would be the one as it is the october build.
try to get that firmware and then download odin to flash your phone back to that firmware
if you are not familiar in using odin and flashing a firmware / stock rom, just try to scan the forums for that simple guide.
also i never did went back to the old firmware, i just let it go for a while and hope that either a new firmware update would fix it or the app side instead would.
Hello everybody, my device is a Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7652.
I am new at this whole rooting thing, i did my first rooting to be honest yesterday and i chose PMP Ultra custom rom, because it was the best rom for my taste.
Unfortunately i didn't know about baseband compability , and my baseband version was s7562xxlj3 , and now my phone cannot receive or make calls.
I need help, what do i do??
I cant even find my original rom so i can install that, or even a custom rom that supports my baseband..
Can you please help me?

I think you are mixing some definitions.
Rooting is providing root capabilities to the phone, this is a standard operation in the *nix world.
Selecting a ROM is formatting the whole system and put a new one and you probably changed the kernel (hence the baseband problem).
Fortunately the phone is not bricked (unable to boot), so my recommendation is try to check if there are other kernels/ROMs compatible and change it.
Fortunately this showed while searching: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42182649&postcount=1708

I would recommend either restoring a NANDROID backup in recovery and if you don't have a backup I would recommend searching for your devices firmware here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/ and then flashing it via Odin. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help you out.

That's a bit of overkill if they just need the modem, unless it's not been separated out of the original full firmware to flash separately, or you need to update the bootloaders.
To dosadnik2001: Which firmware you need depends on which region the phone is from typically. Sometimes other modems from other firmwares work on unlocked phones, but best to stick with what you know should work right first.
What I do not understand is how the baseband firmware and the custom ROM are related?
I've found some post about changing the baseband firmware and there they say that the ROM doesn't care about the baseband, so you should only change it if there are some optimized baseband that can make your network coverage better. On the other side, I found several post claiming that certain ROM is not working because of the baseband firmware version.
Flashing firmware that is not for your region is again questionable for me. Doesn't this going to mess up somehow the microwave part of the phone and you can have some issues with the network carrier eventually?
Thanks.
