I've been reading through the numerous lightbleed threads here and elsewhere, and I can't find any reference to this particular problem I'm having. I took a chance and bought an open box Nexus 9 a few months back from Best Buy (it was a really great deal). I've been mostly satisfied with it - the buttons are a bit iffy sometimes, but I've been really happy with the screen. However, just today, I noticed this weird light bleed sort of thing started happening along the bottom edge:

It's most visible on a white or colored background, and is almost invisible on a black one. That seems like the opposite of the usual lightbleed problems. Has anyone seen this before? Is there anything I can do, considering the screen was fine before?

Hello,
First of thanks for even looking at my problem also excuse me for my bad english or when I missed a similiar thread with the same problem
Last friday I was keeping my galaxy s3 between my body and my sports pants/underwear. When I took it away there was a tiny little bit of moisture on the screen (sweat I guess). I wiped it of and continued using my phone. After a while the screen started to go pink and flikkering white in different brightness levels. I quickly turned my phone off and took the battery out. I left my phone on the boiler in a bowl of rice overnight (+/- 15 hours). When I turned the phone on again it worked fine but only my screen has a very low resolution now. The rest of the phones functions are working just fine!
Does anyone know how this problem whas caused, if it could be fixed by me and if it could be under warranty (Standard dutch warranty of 2 years, my water/liquid indicators in the headphone jack and behind the battery are still white and white with blue x's respectively).
This is how my screen looks now:

}
(It's less visible on camera in my opinion, hope you can at least see a difference to understand what I mean with 'lost resolution'.

Thanks in advance!
I'd take it into the dealer and show them - it should be fixed under warranty I think. I would not tell them about the moisture and to be honest I don't think that is the problem. I've had water splashed on my phone with no effects. Also, the screen is fused to the glass (which is why cracks are so expensive to fix - you're buying a new screen) so the moisture would somehow have to get inside the casing to affect things. It clearly hasn't done that if the indicators are not showing water effects.
Does anybody else here have an Xperia Z2 with the same design flaw? In the upper-left corner of my phone there is a noticeable area where the plastic is not filled correctly. It looks awful in daylight conditions and seriously makes the phone look ugly. I've noticed other users mentioning it on this forum, is it a more widespread problem or just a faulty batch of phones?
Look below to see what I'm talking about:

Mine is fine to.
Probobly a fabrication error from the ones doing the frame. I know how delecate They are cos we (my job) have made aluminum frames to Nokia and HTC in the past and They are VERRY delecate after milling.
My white Z2 week 18 is fine. I checked the whole edge of both sides and the molding seems straight. Although it does look like my white is not as white anymore but that's to be expected of a white phone lol.
It's a birthmark. Love it as you would your own birthmarked child.
most of users in Turkey have the same problem and it really bothers everyone.
I have a Lumia 920. I think i have a really BIG problem. So I got the official 8.1 Cyan update for my Lumia 920 couple of weeks back. Everything was fine but recently for a week or so the display has been acting really weird. (It used to never do this when I had Windows 8 Black Update.)
Whenever I pressed the unlock button the display would flicker (especially the 4 corners) and some random blue lines would appear on the start screen and this was visible wherever there was a dark background. But sometimes the flickering would go away as i used the phone. I felt like it only flickered when i constantly kept unlocking my phone every few minutes, because it did not flicker when I unlocked my phone after a long time(like after about 30-45 mins). I thought this problem would go away eventually but I woke up today morning and I saw the display was totally crazy. I don't even know how to describe it. There are white lines everywhere and the edges and corners are totally black. I can see a bit of the screen but otherwise its really bad. I can't even use the phone. I already tried the soft reset thing but that dint do anything. My phone is almost a year old (I got it in Novemeber 2013). Also there is no problems with the touch, everything is responding fine.
Here are some pictures of the display. Hopefully it is clear enough.

Pls someone tell me what to do....
I've run into what I think is the same problem with two different new Nexus 9 tablets, from two different sources, and I'd like to find out if this is a common defect with the Nexus 9 in general. In both cases, let them run all system upgrades to the latest version (6.0.1).
With the first tablet, I first noticed that I had problems pressing and holding (to move icons on the home screen) near the left edge (USB connection at the bottom). Tried a bit more, and found it only intermittently registered touches in about a 1cm wide vertical band 1cm in from the left side. Sent it back to Amazon, ordered a replacement from a different affiliate.
Second tablet came, I let it install updates, and got the same problem. This time I installed a touchscreen test app, used the "paint" mode (draws a pixel wherever you touch), and after sweeping my finger pretty thoroughly over the screen, saw an obvious mostly-dead bar in the problem area. See attached image.
Has anyone else run into this? Known Nexus 9 issue? Could it be a software problem, unlikely as that seems? Any help or advice would be appreciated. I want a stock Android tablet badly enough to give the Nexus 9 a third try, but not if I'm probably just going to run into this again.

I have a little problem with my N9. I recently observered a little bit bright vertical line near the right side. I know this is and old tablet, I know it's limits, but this is bugging me out. I really thinking about getting a new tablet (preferably pixel c for the pure android).
Anyway... Is this a screen problem? Only way to fix this to replace the screen? Frankly, I do not want to spend any money on this tablet.

I think that might bei screen bleeding, which is quite common for the nexus 9.
i have the same screen problem.
Possibly a burned-in navbar?
So most probably the only solution to replace the screen?
