Hello, sorry for my English.
Possible Mod for open direct apps in pop up?
Thank you.
Cool idea or a pop-up with the option for floating Window, haven't seen it but next best thing is to open then drag the corner, extra step.
Should add the idea to this thread, might get accepted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3012666

Hi all,
is it possible to display new whatsapp messages directly on lockscreen? (like on ios? Display lights up if new message comes in and i can read message directly on lockscreen, thats what I want.
Bought some apps but nothing works fine :-(
Sorry for my poor Englisch...
For directly showing message on lock screen it depends on the ROM I think.
Is there any rom for my desire hd available?
I am using virtous quattro with ics at the moment.
You need to post this there.. I don't have desire. So, can't say.
I think widget locker is what you need. I use handcent for sms, and it gets through the lockscreen just like you describe.

The lockscreen code is either part of the framework.jar or the systemui... and if the device is not rooted, you cannot change it.
If you are a programmer, what you could try is to create a new window (for example with the WindowManagerImpl hidden class) trying different window types: window types define the layer where the window will be placed. For some window types you might need some special permission (for example I think TYPE_SYSTEM_OVERLAY will be placed above lockscreen, and it needs the SYSTEM_DIALOG permission)
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Currently there isn't an (lockscreen-)app that allows that. If you are a programmer you can always try to make it yourself, like mentioned above. But be warned, it's going to be a hell to create it
I´m not a Android programme
There is an option in the settings of whatsapp "turn on the pop up messages" check that box n u are good to go
i know this option, but it´s still behind the lockscreen...
Hey guys!!
This pop-up message, allows you to answer the message even with the lock screen. I think it's a lack of security because anyone can answer it if you forget your phone somewhere.
I've already try to talk with the developers of Whatsapp, but with no success.
On iphone you can only read and unlock to answer.
That's right, the popup feature when set to 'always' or 'only when screen off' shows messages and I think even allows replying from the lockscreen. You can't go view the full convo without unlocking though. This is the way it works at least in the latest beta from http://www.whatsapp.com/android/

Mod Edit
Best ROMS/kernels are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

Hi,
I'm a complete newbie to the world of app-making, and it's something that I intend on learning soon in the near future. However for now I am currently in a bit of a pickle with making a super basic app that I want to use as a tool. So as everyone does, I've come running to a forum for help
All I want my app to do is simply open up, and display an image. Nothing else, no buttons, no exit option, etc. Just simply want this image displayed (It's my school timetable): http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/125/9/1/timetable_by_mharris333-d7hb210.jpg
If anyone could quickly grab this and chuck it into an app for me that would be amazing
Phone info:
Xperia Z1 (5-inch Display)
Android 4.4
Thanks in advance,
Michael

No icon? What package name? Just the image itself? No scrollviews?

You can just put a shortcut to the image on your desktop and associate it with gallery to show it. ES file explorer can do it. Navigate to where you have the image, long press, tap "more" then "put on desktop"

Hello everybody.
Tried a search but didn't find.
Can anybody explain why I can't reply or make a new thread on the XDA official Google Play app?
First I thought it was because of the free version, then I bought the Premium but it's exactly the same.
No option to reply or create a new thread.
Why?
Thank you
Hello, there should be options for what you described there.
First you can start new thread by going to the desired topic and clicking on the pen icon in the bar above.
As for replying there should be quick reply option on the bottom of the screen in each thread you visit or if you tap three dots on the top right, menu will open with few options.
Attached few screenshots to help you understand

Hi. Thanks for the try but I actually can reply or quote in this thread (the one I created). Nowhere else. See screen attached: no options after selecting the post.
Odd, whats the version of the app that you are using?
Also there is an option in settings of the app to enable quick reply bar, try and check that if its not already
I have it but ONLY in this thread... Version 4.0.15 I'm getting mad...
Check on quick reply bar in the setting
And press on rest cache
Or try to log out and log in again
Hi. As I previously said I have it but only in this thread.

Hello everyone!
I want to know if it's posible to make the stock Launcher slide down from any part of the Desktop and open the notification panel instead of the hisearch bar.
I know this is possible using third part launchers and i had been using nova Launcher for the last 5-6 years, but i like the stock look on emui so im interested on that and thats the reason i ask the developers because i think it cannot be something so hard to do but very useful. I don't know how Huawei did not thought about that...
Up for subscribing to your thread so i will know when a developer that has a Huawei device and is mooding EMUI 10 apps ? will answer your question ?
PS. ATM i can say that i don't know any, but who knows, maybe there are some @ here, using the phone as is, because for this device (and all released after this one) there is no bootloader unlocking codes / root...

Yo,
I have a little trick with an app called VividNG.
I have assigned to the top right side of my screen a zone where I can pull down to open the notification panel.
After doing this you will be able to open the notification panel this way in every app. Just use your thumb.
It's not as easy as swiping from anywhere on the screen but it's better than nothing at all and having to reach the top of the screen everytime.
Hope that it will help someone !
