I have recently installed CWM on my E425f, and a few days later it installed an update from LG. Then it asked me to reboot, but open reboot, my mobile is now stuck on recovery. If I tell CWM to "reboot to bootloader", it then stays stuck on the LG logo.
Things I have tried so far without success:
* Do a factory reset, and wipe the cache and the Dalvik cache
* Format /system and install a clean LG ROM
* Flash LG_G3_Flash2FixStuckRecovery.zip, which runs the commands:
Code:
/sbin/busybox dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota;
/sbin/busybox dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc bs=256 count=1 conv=notrunc;
I just have no idea what I could try anymore! Thanks for your attention!

Your device does not support by-name partitions don't mess with dev/block if you don't know exactly what are you doing. Flash kdz for your device. There are tutorials around.

I did a hard reset and cleaned everything on /sdcard. I didn't keep the backup because I decided not to mess with anything on the system anymore (never imagined CWM would be the one to bring the problems, lol)

Dude try flashing it again with a clean firmware using kdz updater. You better know the pre-requisites in using it. Make sure your phone is at download mode when you flash using kdz updater. don't worry your phone's just taking a bit of a rest. just follow instructions very well.
If ever you fail using kdz updater, try using the Lg Mobile Support Tool.
Kindly post here any update that you may have.

BTW dude, it's normal that if you boot your device into bootloader, your phone will only show the LG logo. It doesn't boot into the system.

I was able to flash it with the "Upgrade Recovery" option on a desktop. It never worked on my laptop, which I believe to be related to the message that I receive while charging the battery from the USB port: "Battery is charging slowly due to low electric current of TA/USB.". I think there is just not enough power from my laptop USB ports to flash the KDZ. Thank you for your attention!

This mod is no longer being developed.
In case you haven't noticed, it's been deprecated for some time now.
Status Bar Mod for the TrueSmartThis mod adds the Status Bar back to your device. It should work on all ROMS (though I can't make any promises for non TS devices.)
Installation
Download the zip and move to your SD card.
Disable Quick Boot!!! and reboot into recovery.
Perform a NANDroid backup (Highly recommended!)
Flash the mod.
[*]Preform a Factory Reset!!
TroubleshootingIf you do end up in a bootloop, ensure you preformed a factory reset
It may sometimes take a few minutes for the device to preform dex operations, be patient.
Ensure you are on the 1/20/2014 firmware
Get a logcat (adb logcat > log.txt) before asking for help, I am not at your device, seriously, help me out here.
The status bar can be hidden using the Xposed module GravityBox.
If all else fails, restore that NANDroid backup you made earlier.

I've move around some settings, Quick Boot is now under Development Settings. Auto Rotate to display settings. A shortcut to engineering mode can be found under Development Settings.

Nope. Mine is stuck at the omate screen and doesn't go past it. Might have to pull the battery.
UPDATE:
I've now flashed back to stock. Re-flashed this over stock, got another boot loop. Wiped again, reflashed, same deal. Wiped again, no flash, got into the OS, but the update didn't change the status bar.
Any time I flash this over a fresh wipe, I get a boot loop.
Anyone else have any other experiences?

Hey Jarocks,
I'm getting the same issue despite being on stock or on lokifish's mod. Any idea what's causing it?
For those of you in a bootloop try running the following adb commands and rebooting. You may also need to wipe the cache as well.
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/Settings.odex
adb shell rm /system/framework/android.policy.odex
adb reboot
If any take a couple mins to boot up.
Edit:
A fix has been posted in the OP, sorry guys.

No luck.
Here's what I've done:
Restored back to Stock
Booted into the OS
Unchecked Quickboot
Rebooted into TWRP
Flashed the updated MOD
Cleared Cache
Stuck at the boot screen
ADB Reboot Recovery
run the commands you listed in a previous post
none of the files are found
Reboot back into boot loop
It's still not working quite right.
So the mod also caused a boot loop and while trying to fix it I managed to wipe my OS. Now I can only boot into TWRP and that's it. Anything I could do to flash the OS. SP flash tools won't recognize my device? I feel like a complete noob!

SP Flash tool doesn't need to have an OS to recover. So all is not lost. It just takes some tinkering to get it working right. Make sure you follow the steps in the unbrick thread exactly. You may have to plug/unplug with the watch OFF a few times to get it to recognize.

Dear XDA Members,
I´ve currently downloaded the software update which came out yesterday and my phone asked me if i wanted to update. I did so, and afterwards it rebooted straight into TWRP. I´ve tried several things like rebooting, mounting, erase dalvin cache etc. etc.,
In the end I also totally erased all files on my phone (which i believe was the most stupid thing I can do) and that´s why I am here right now:
I´ve got my LG G2 International version which has only TWRP on it.
My Question is now:
How can I get a custom rom on the internal memory? (Don´t really now how to work ADB Sideload)
How can I mount the device because it does not get recognised if I do the mounting within TWRP?
Literally every help is hiiiighly appreciated!

From the TWRP terminal command (from the Main Menu > Advanced) type:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit Enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit Enter
Then reboot. If it doesn't fully reboot, you should be able to at least get to Download Mode to reinstall the stock firmware.

Classic problem if you update over OTA, go in the twrp and open the terminal :
first that : ' dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota '

Your board certainly isn't dead. But if you don't need it, send your board then to @Quarx to have one, because his board burned with white smoke .
As you know, TWRP still doesn't support FBE, so in-case if you wanna flash another system.img the Wipe data/factory reset in TWRP wouldn't work (at least didn't work for me).
That would force you to get back to stock recovery, which allows a successful factory reset.
Steps are pretty straight forward, if you already have a backup of your stock recovery just do the below steps, if else you could download one from the below link.
Put the device into fastboot mode. There are two ways to do that.
1)By long pressing the power button and volume down button whilst the USB is connected.
2)Just do a adb reboot bootloader command if you could boot into the system.
Then just do
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdisk.img
Then disconnect the USB and long press the power and volume up button until you see the "The device is booting now" message.

Just created a md5sum of your recovery and my backed up recovery. It's exactly the same size but the md5sum is different.
A quick look with a hex editor also shows some big differences. Is that expected?

MD5 hash wouldn't possibly match, because the backup was taken using dd and there might be some config files modified or added when I used the stock recovery once. But, hey the thing would work if you have BKL-L09 device
Thanks. This works!

Not sure, as it might check integrity before giving updates. Just download Firmware Finder app and check for updates constantly.

You will receive the updates but you won't be able to install them with TWRP. Simply flash the stock recovery and the updates will self install when they come. You'll have to root again with Magisk after the updates, but that's a simple process.

What device do you have exactly?
I recently messed up my V30 H933 badly and it'll only boot to TWRP now (not even Download Mode is working), so I'm looking for someone using LG official FW and who'd be willing to run the following command on TWRP on either Nougat or Oreo:
Code:
ls -l /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name
I'm hoping that, with said command output, I'll be able to manually flash some stuff around on my phone that'll get the system booting again. Should I be successful, I'll write down a guide to help people who run into the same problem as well.
Thanks in advance.
From my experience with past snapdragon devices (LG G Pro and OP2) that had that problem: misc partition was corrupted
Flash a kdz (should reset that flag there), or (didnt try this on a V30, but works on a G6, so... i dont guarantee anything, could even brick your device) via terminal (adb or twrp built in):
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc bs=256 count=1 conv=notrunc
Safer method should be to flash a kdz though...

I can't flash a KDZ because the phone won't go to Download Mode, it will only reboot to TWRP.
And I tried that command, it did nothing for me except stopping the phone from booting up when I connected it to USB.

If you reboot to TWRP, what happens if you flash a US998 ROM?
Have you tried Master Reset to wipe everything?

How can I flash a US998 ROM (I'm assuming the KDZ) when I can't access Download Mode? And yeah, I tried doing a full wipe and then flashing a couple of different ROMs I found here (Lineage, WETA and Boombox), none worked, I could see under /system that information had been populated, but trouble is that it would seem as though I need to repartition the whole memory and reinstall the system from scratch before it works again.
So, breaking news: found a flashable ZIP that fixed my phone from the ground up. Managed to, luckily, get it back to working.

mind sharing where you found the zip? or the zip itself?
Just incase someone in the future has a similar problem

Absolutely! I used the ZIP I found on this thread to reflash the phone to stock ROM; I'm currently trying to get ahold of the guys who created the ZIP in the first place to try and figure out a way to do the same thing for my variant (H933), so I can reflash my phone with TWRP embedded since, apparently, lglaf can't be made to work with the V30 implementation.
