Code:
adb shell

mount -o remount,rw /system
Or use root explorer to mount it when in the system directory
But if you update to 2.8.1 the issue is resolved anyway, quick work by @[NUT]

In order to get the correct time going in Philz recovery ensure you read the FAQ in the DevDB thread here
Basically, Goto recovery options, GUI preferences, Date and time, change date and time and ensure "Parse Daemon time data" is checked.

how long does it take at this stage..? been sitting for five minutes

This seems exciting.
Just checking, this will allow root with a locked boot loader. Thus keeping the TA partition and all DRM keys?

No, you need root in order to install this....
But if you search you will find that there is root for a locked bootloader
Just search for
Giefroot.

That will not work on a z3, towelroot had never worked on a z3. you must root first, search for giefroot

cm12 recovery
Cm recovery isn't great at the moment, just wondering the best way to install this if its possible?
From what I've read so far, Sony phones don't have a separate recovery partition, its built into the kernel! Correct me if I'm wrong.
I've tried to flash with the cm recovery, but it failed, would I need to go back to a stock based ROM, then this recovery.
Then when I flash cm12, flash this recovery before I reboot like it says in the 1st post.
Many thanks

Root (Using giefroot for LB), run the installer.bat from this download
That's how you install this.
But if you want to install Cm, just fastboot the boot.img from the CM update.zip (That has the recovery in it) then enter recovery and flash the update.zip. You do not need this recovery. This recovery is for LB and is installed into the system partition.

of course

I'm already running cm12, the cm recovery doesn't have any backup features or install from external card. Was just looking for options to get a recovery like twrp or cwm so I can make backups whilst running cm12.
Thanks for the fast reply.

[Q] CMW without open bl on WT19i?

Hi guys!
Is there any way to install cmw to the Live with Walkman like this one?
Code:
http://naw32fsystem.blogspot.com/2011/11/adding-bravia-engine-megabass.html
And if it's possible, can i install this rom from "this cmw" ?
Thanks.
Look for Xperia CWM Auto-Installer on market. I'am not sure, if Walkman is working with it, but you could try. Anyway, this is an nAa recovery, which works on all(?) XPERIA 2011 devices.
And link you posted, looks like it is SE Tweak installer, which has nAa recovery bounded in it. Try, and let us know But keep in mind, that there is small chance of fail.
And no, you cant install hybrom, cause custom kernel is needed.
Thanks, but i don't wanna to screw up my phone, so i will use the clear menthod

There is no difference between installation procces. All needed, is root.
Anyway, glad you came so far Good luck with modding

Place the zip on your sdcard, root your phone, install a Recovery(ClockworkMod Recovery is recommended), then factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache(under Advanced) and install zip from sdcard and pick the zip file.

Downgrade Firmware to gain Root Access

It was suck when I upgrade on 14.1.B.2.257 then everything you do for Root were not work, vroot, oneclick root, etc.
I using Sony Updates software for upgrade it, previous purpose only to making backup Stock ROM, then my root access was gone.
I combine many posting to gain back root access, actually my FW was Indonesia CDA, it may be broke warranty, but I try replace 2.257 with 1.510, that still rootable, with same interface (like white theme on setting). I just wanna share what I simple done.
1. Flash your device with previous FW( Me, use Indonesia 1.510), for you please select as you wish. Download it first.

Just sucessfully rooted my ZUltra using the VRoot tool. Am running 510 fw (Indonesian C6802).
Just wanted to hare my steps:
1. Connect your phone (don't forget to enable USB Debugging)
2. Open the Vroot tool, wait until it detects the phone.
3. Click on the green button on the right bottom corner of the tool (root).
4. After sucesssfully root using the VRoot (your phone will reboot), install the SuperSU from playstore.
5. Open the SuperSU app, it will ask to update binary, click ok.
6. Then open the Vroot tool once again, click the white button (unroot) on the left of the green button, hence removing the chinese superuser app.
7. After that go to SuperSU -> Settings -> Install SuperU into /system.
8. After that reboot the phone, and the SuperSU will still be there, all apps requiring root works perfectly.
Note: if you cannot find the developer options in the settings to enable USB debugging (just like I did the first time ), go to About Phone and click on the Build Number menu 7 times. That will enable the developer mode.

Not sure why we need another guide.. Especially instruction #5 which is something you implement prior to ota updating (and not at the end of the process of flashing files). Not being mean, just thing this will add to the confusion (for those already confused).

It seems that will work with both of them.
@lehoaitam GREAT ROM!
Not a single bug till now (I'll keep testing) and works perfectly with the best Xposed Framework modules!
Currently this might be the best rom for Xperia P (LB) in the forum! Congrats!
Just a note, in case of "Locked Bootloder" installation the user shall not "wipe data/factory reset" in recovery because he will loose root and recovery after reboot!!! You need to correct the instructions!

PS. Caution with the copy/paste code stealers!
Hi, this ROM is awesome, the only bug I have is the album getting force close, how can I solve it? by the way, is smooth as hell with cfq, interactive, max 800mhz min 200mhz.
Thanks for the awesome job Mate.
EDIT: problem solved by uninstalling Album with titanium backup and the reinstalled again, works like a charm, thanks!

No, not for this round of releases anyway.
XZDR 3.0 will be all about choices and selections... but that release is far, far away.
Need a bit of help troubleshooting an issue, I cannot get my z3c to reboot to recovery? I have updated the app, granted root privs and still no luck? I have had it in recovery and successfully made a back up when I first set up root and recovery.

Experienced the same "issue". However, dualrecovery installed apparently flawless for I have been able to flash (via TWRP) a pre-rooted .77 FW on my Z3C (D5803) without any problems. So for all practical purposes it seems to be a cosmetic problem only.

Hey Nut (giggle, sorry, I'm 12),
Stupid question but will reinstalling this recovery wipe my phone? I had XZDualRecovery installed after recently rooting my Z3C, but due to some extra steps involved with updating to the latest firmware while keeping root, I had opted not to couple your recovery with the pre-rooted firmware I generated with another tool thinking the recovery would still be there, but it appears to be missing. I didn't notice until later, but whenever I boot into recovery, it just reboots the system.
Anyhoo, thanks for all your incredible work!

No of course not
Installing/reinstalling XZDR should never wipe your phone unless something breaks during update/installation... but these instances are rare to say the least.

Thanks for the confirmation. Just reflashed and all is well!
Tried to flash it over CM12 recovery (Z3C), but it won't install. Also tried from PC with the script - NDR utils are installed but recovery stays CM. Any way to install at least TWRP somehow?
Edit: Found this one and flashed with Rashr app from Play Store. Works fine.
Hi,
Installed XZDualRecovery using this manual.
It's working. I can backup and restore.
But what is not working is flashing. Tried to flash CM12 and it failed with error message:
from TWRP: This package is for device: D5803, D5833, z3c; this is aries.
from Philz: This package is for device: D5803, D5833, z3c; this is .
from CWM: This package is for device: D5803, D5833, z3c; this is amami.
So looks like these recoveries think that current device is Xiaomi Mi2, Z1 Compact or something else.
I extracted recovery.cwm.cpio.lzma, recovery.philz.cpio.lzma and recovery.twrp.cpio.lzma and did some grepping:
Code:
$ grep -ri ro.build.product= *
recovery.cwm/default.prop:ro.build.product=amami
recovery.philz/default.prop:ro.build.product=z3c
recovery.twrp/default.prop:ro.build.product=aries
Code:
$ grep -ri ro.product.device= *
recovery.cwm/default.prop:ro.product.device=amami
recovery.philz/default.prop:ro.product.device=z3c
recovery.twrp/default.prop:ro.product.device=aries
From that i would say that cwm and twrp use wrong device value. philz is using correct value but still for some reason it does not work and does not identify itself as z3c.
PS, I do not have deeper knowledge about android recoveries.

This is due to the CM updater-script, it's not looking for "aries". You can either edit that script to add aries, or you can fastboot flash the boot.img from the CM zip and use the recovery built into that kernel to flash it (because then it will be identified as z3c).
-transfer CM zip to your phone's storage
-On PC: extract boot..img from CM zip
-connect phone to pc in fastboot mode (turn off, hold vol+ while plugging into USB)
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
-boot phone to recovery and flash CM (full wipe!)
This is also in the HOW-TO in the CM thread

6.0 Concept Rom Z3 Compact Unlocked Bootloader 2099 Build (twrp restore only)

First i'm not a developer.

This is Concept 6.0 rom build-2099 Z3 Compact twrp backup file for unlocked bootloaders only
https://mega.nz/#!S1pwxBqY!jZPYj18LDAo2TPuVrYp2IuTpD71lt9QhiG0D9CC5NAs
How to: Extract file, copy to TWRP backup folder. Restore on recovery.
Include @Gustavo RD78 kernel because nfc dont work with latest @shoey63 kernel.
Thanks for @shoey63 backup works. For @rjhellel share Z3 2099 system backup.
Sorry for bad english...

The update have problems with sd...? Somebody please can tell me?
No problem at all
Hi. master, is this fully original concept rom from Sony? i mean you got the ota and then backed up system via twrp? or it is a port from z3 or other? thanks
Port from z3. Sony dont release 2099 for z3c yet.
Do I do a wipe before restoring?
Flashed onto z3c. Looks really good and fast but unfortunately there is an issue with it mounting the sdcard. You can't use an external sdcard because it cant read it.
Okay might have just been my card but I wasn't going format it for it to work because it had all my lollipop backups on it and I wanted to go back to lollipop until this has more working for it like androplus kernel, xposed etc. Looks good though and can't wait to get it up and running when it's fully supported.
Hi!
No problems here with a 64 GB microSD Card.
bye
I have 16gb toshiba sd card and no problem.
