Hi.
Phone: SGS 3 i9300. Kernel: Googy-Max2 Kernel 2.3.2. ROM: CM 11 SNAPSHOT M12
When I plug in the charger with the phone turned off, the battery logo appears on the screen, but it freeze as soon as is shown, doesn't show the animation (of a battery being filled with a green bar), and the phone itself remains frozen. It can't be turned on, even though I remove the charger, press any button, connect the charger again, or any other thing. I have to remove the battery for get it to work.
By the way, the battery is charged by the charger, the problem is that freeze thing, I don't care much about the animation.
Saludos!

Hi,
I am currently running a Slim Bean rom on Samsung i9000, but I had this issue also with MIUI before. My phone ran out of battery and now when I plug it in the charger, it shows an empty battery with the "loading" symbol and then the battery disappears for a second. And then it repeats.
When I try to turn to phone on with the charger connnected, nothing happens.
When I disconnect the charger turn the phone on, I get the standard Galaxy S logo, then an android logo with "powered by semaphore" text which flashes once and then the phone reboots.
I can get into download mode using vol down + home + power, but I cannot get into the recovery mode, which worked for me previously with MIUI when this happened (i would get into recovery and then restart and the phone would boot).
Is there something I can do to get the phone running, apart from charging the battery elsewhere? I don't have a separate battery charger or a friend with the same phone.
Thanks
My phone's battery just died while charging. No idea how it happened, but apparently it wasn't charging at all, even though it displayed a charging icon.
Now it's turned off and it won't charge. When I plug it in, it turns on, displays the screen with the big battery, as usual, but only for a few short seconds. Then it turns itself on, even though it has no power, and shuts itself down immediately after it turns on, meaning it never charges. Then it goes t the big battery screen again, then turns itself on etc. and this goes in a circle for all eternity.
What do I do? I have no battery charger and I don't have any friends with a SGS3
(I'm running UltimaROM 17.1, in case that's related, which it might be, since I jut flashed it yesterday morning.)

You say you plug it and this happens? But what do you plug in when you wrote this: "I have no battery charger and.." ?
The battery could be dead or maybe it is also the dock connector! I don't know. FIrst buy a new battery. It's not a big deal
Or you try to search for someone who has an S3 and try it out
Good luck!
I meant I have a charger for my phone, like with a USB cable, but I don't own a charger that only charges batteries. Thanks for the quick reply, but I fixed it already. It wouldn't boot to recovery because the battery was completely empty, but with some fast finger-work I managed to plug it in and get it to boot to recovery before the battery screen. Since recovery doesn't use up battery as much, it started charging without shutting down and it's fine now

Thanks god you got it fixed. Good job!
When your phone is powered off, and then connected to the charger, it appears that a separate rom or firmware of sorts is booted up which displays the charge indicator.
However on my phone this charge indicator would freeze up.
The screen will stay the same way as pictured in the attachment, even after I unplug it from the charge cable. The only way to get it to clear is to either remove the battery, or unplug it and hold the power button for 10 seconds causing it to reboot.
Reflashing my ROM again doesn't seem to help either (I am running an AOSP ROM).
Is there any way to fix it?
Replying to myself
I've found that the battery indicator screen would freeze up when I use AOSP roms, but when I used a rom like rXtreme, it works fine!
Seems like the battery charging screen is tied to the rom after all.
Hello everyone!
As title says ,my samsung galaxy II (CM12.1 flashed) doesn't give any signs of life.
Here is the story:
I turned off my phone this morning and plugged in charger. After hour i plugged off charger from my phone and tried to turn it on.As it was turning on it got stuck on samsung logo.Afterwards i went into recovery mode and wiped /cache.Everything was fine. Then i went to "factory reset" where problem occured...while it was deleting /data it got stuck.Few minutes later my phone suddenly turned off. After that moment it just won't turn on.I tried to get into recovery and download mode but phone doesn't react. When i plug in charger it doesn't react neither. Battery was at 50% when i tried to turn it on.
Before this, phone was running fine. But recently it was freezing a lot so i had to take off batery and put it back in.
Im not native english speaker so don't get mad on my "perfect" english
I hope someone will help me diagnose the problem
Thank you
Goodmorning.
....the same here..... sadly.
This is what I know regarding that unable to turn phone back on problem, perhaps can solve yours.
We know the S2 i9100 (and maybe the other variants too) has "problem" with battery levels. In my case, it won't surprise when I got (for example) 48% then drops drastically to 3% after reboot. The problem sometimes also occur when I reboot to system from recovery.
Regarding to your problem, try to recharge your S2 until 100% (in this case, phone is off completely), unplug the charger, then turn it on by holding the power button.
If the phone still won't turned on, try this tips as it always working for me. Plug the charger and try to turn the phone on (holding the power button). If the phone just go back to battery indicator screen (sometimes the screen will blinking once), here the problem.
From here, you need to see what kind of battery indicator image shown on the screen. If the image is a battery indicator with round progress inside it (and doesn't change no matter how long you expect to it), you need to press and hold the power button to restart. Repeat this until you got the image with battery indicator with ACTUAL battery level and bar shown. When you see this, unplug your charger, wait until the screen is completely off, then holding the power button to turn on the phone. In my case, this is always work.
If for some reason you never get the correct battery indicator screen after many tries, try to remove the battery off, wait for at least 15 seconds, put it back on, then try the procedure again.
Hope that help.
My phone discharged completely to 0% and now it won't charge at all. I don't think the battery is working, but I can't ge the phone to respond.
When I connect it to the charger, the low battery screen turns on, then the phone begins booting, but as soon as the SONY logo flashes the phone stops responding. No red light is shown indicating charging.
I've tried holding the yellow off button near the sim card but don't get a response. Just whenever I plug it out and back in the same screens repeat.
I installed Lineage OS a month and a half ago and wonder if that might be the cause - with my last Suzuran I had Lineage OS for 3 months before the battery died (three red lights).
If anyone knows what the problem could be I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks.
Hello,
Try removing the SD card and try charging it again. Also use a new good charging cable (had a lot of problems myself)
