I tried to root my device with this thread
Root with Locked Bootloader for SGP621 using giefroot
but of the big differences between sgp611 and sgp621 I am not able to root. I stuck at point 16.
So my question is will there be a way to root the tablet with locked bootloader, soon? Or can I forget it and start unlocking the booloader?

You can root without downgrading. But u have to have unlocked bootloader
