Mounts2SD and EXT4-partition? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello XDA!
(Is this the right place for this question? Is this really "hacking" for example?)
Soo , im trying to use the Mounts 2SD app to utilize a EXT4 partition on my 32 GB sdcard. The first partition is a FAT32 (this is more windows friendly?) and the second one is the EXT4 partition of about 12GB.
In the Mounts 2SD app I have installed “Startup Script” (6.0.20).

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But on "External" it says "Not Mounted". Hmm, should it be mounted there?
And when i reboot the phone the /data/ partitions still doesn't seems to be mounted in the EXT4-partition on the SDcard. Someone who know how i could do to use the EXT4-partition on the SDcard?
And if someone know it would be interesting to know exactly what partitions that one usally move to the EXT4-partiton on the SDcard. (The /cache/ and the "dalvik" for example?)

[Q] Link2SD Misunderstood or What ?!

It's not a problem really, but I just don't know what it is.
Isn't link2SD supposed to move the apps to my second partition on the SD card ?
Well it does move them successfully, because in Settings ==> Apps I have NOW a lot of space free.
Take a look at this screenshot below. All the apps are in data/app and not on sd card, can someone plz explain to me what is happening "behind the scenes" because right now I'm confused.

link2sd fools the system into thinking the second partition is its internal memory so they will show up in data/app but if you scroll further down to data/sdext2 you will see all yor apps are there which is you second partition.

[Q] internal memory size problem

Hi,
I have rooted old phone with low internal storage and Link2SD installed.
The problem is, that even if I have almost all aplications linked (by Link2SD) to SD card, I've got low free space on internal storage.
I've executed "du -h -m -d 1" command to get sizes of all subfolders in "/data" folder (which I suppose is internal storage) and the results are in attached file.
Whole /data directory size is 297 MB.
/dalvik-cache + /sdext2 is 207 MB in total. Other folders' sizes are negligible.
My question is: Where is the difference of 297-207=90 MB?
Thanks for replies

[Q] Help with mounting /data/media to /sdcard ?

I posted this on XDA Visitor a few hours ago. Was told to post it here.
I got an Infinix Zero X506 (Android 4.4.2) a few days ago and I wanted to root the device.
So anyway the phone is rooted and everything, but I noticed that the Mobile Storage's Total Space is 0 Bytes.
I freaked out. I thought all my data was deleted, but when I went into /data/media using root explorer, all my files were there.
I read somewhere that android 4.4 fuses the /data/media folder to /sdcard on boot, so that the so-called "Mobile Storage" is not a separate partition but it is a folder mounted as a partition.
During the root I might have messed up with all the recovery images and stuff.
So how can I mount the /data/media folder as phone storage?
And am I doing anything wrong here?
And can anyone explain to me the difference between /sdcard, /storage/sdcard0, and /storage/sdcard1 ?

but I have not managed to add to 1.4GB of swap memory to 448MB micro sd system
I hope you can help thanks :good::fingers-crossed::silly:
um, its already activated. you see the VMEM? it just wont show up in settings menu. pretty much acts the same as Link2SD. btw swap is slower. easier solutiom would be to change rom, or de-bloat and freeze some running apps.

Android with more that 60 partitions and 50gb use internal memory!!! Pls help!

After having done a procedure to undo my Le Max 2 X829 (due to infinite loop) I only have 9GB of internal space available (the device has 64GB of internal memory)
Dai I noticed that the internal memory has more than 60 partitions and one of them (sda9) is more than 56gb!
Please help me ... I can install the ROMs and TWRP but there is no internal space on the device to be able to use it.
Here is the photo of #adb shell> cat /proc /partitions

Try a factory reset if you have a working rom now. Worked for me when I unbricked my Le Max with EDL using a developer rom.
When it first booted it only showed 9GB of internal memory.
Ok , an older thread; I had the same issue. I found the solution in reformatting the data with TWRP.
